Cockatoos are very dramatic! My friend had one that liked to play fetch with a small rubber ball & my mom. He’d come running back to her with it with wings outstretched & head bobbing! He didn’t fly back, he ran to her.

Honestly he probably learned this from hearing his human mom talking on the phone or possibly arguing with various people. He's also in a heightened state. Umbrella cockatoos are notoriously aggressive and talking in birds is sometimes a display of dominance and aggression. It can mean, "I love you," or "I hate you." He could also be doing it to intimidate his human dad.

Smartest bird we ever had, could unlock combo locks and undid knots in chains we had securing his enclosure, etc. I miss that crazy bird. All he ever wanted was cuddle time and pets, all the time, scratchin’ under his tall head feathers. Funniest friggin animal. Ever.
