Tiffin Motorhome Factory Tour

- We take you on a video tour of the Tiffin Motorhome Factory in Red Bay, Alabama. 2013 marks Tiffin's 40th year, so what a great time to visit.
We've taken an awful lot of factory tours at various RV manufacturers: Monaco, Entegra, Winnebago, Newmar (of course... twice!), Travel Supreme, Rexhall, Country Coach and even high-end Prevost bus converter Marathon Coach (twice again). But we don't get down South all that often, so we hadn't made it to Tiffin before, even though they are high on our radar should we ever be in the market for a new RV.
We love our Newmar and have no plans to trade it in, but we know that unexpected life-changing experiences can sometimes lead down new paths. Winning the lottery for instance... or (on the darker side) losing the RV to fire, theft or other malady. Besides having a keen interest in RVs in general, we like to know as much as we can about different manufacturers and their construction techniques in case should we ever be in the market. There's no better way to see way down under the hood of a particular brand than seeing them created from the ground up.
Although it seems every RV manufacturer offers factory tours, we have to say that we were surprised by the level of access we were given at Tiffin. We were allowed right up alongside most of the workers as they built these beautiful motorhomes. And at the paint facility, about 5 miles away from the main factory, the only tours are self-guided. We were literally given ear plugs, safety glasses and a map and given the run of the place!
During the final check and assembly phase of the construction, we were actually encouraged to hop on any coach on the line while it was being finished, and asked workers questions about the RVs!
We were impressed with an awful lot about Tiffin, and will definitely keep it on our short list should the time come to replace our Mountain Aire.
The extreme access all tour guests are given, along with the OK to photograph all we wanted, allowed us to make a pretty good video record of the manufacturing process to share here. Enjoy!

I love my Tiffin Allegro ! Top quality, great family owned business... I would love to meet the Tiffin family someday. Thank you Tiffin.
The Tiffin family...great RV's and outstanding field goal kickers!
This is why we bought a used Tiffan. We have been to there several times in service and a few things fixed and it is an awesome place. They have an rv park for you and you also get to stay in your rig in the service bay. It is a very impressive company.
Also you can call anytime for Mr Tiffan himself and he will talk to you. We can never say enough about the whole company.
Once tours are started again, we will be visiting 👌
Someday we too will live the dream and tour our great country in style :)
Thanks for sharing.
With quality and warranty service going downhill around RV's...this is refreshingly good to watch. My top 3 units are Grand Designs, Tiffins and Winnebago. The others cut corners and clients are realizing it.
We've owned a Newmar for nearly 12 years and would buy another one in a minute. It's still our top choice. 😊
Amazing! I love it.
This behind-the-scenes look is amazing! I love it! Built local, shop local!
Our next coach for full timing! Couple of years away!
Nobody runs a company as customer oriented as Bob Tiffin!
Joe Thompson You couldn't do it in a better coach (although we sure do love our Newmar!). ;-)
RVgeeks There are any number of good RV manufacturers out there. Only two impress me enough to consider in my price range -Tiffin and Winnie! Own a Winnie now and didn't really are for them before I bought this one! Good solid coach for the dollar! Still a toss up but I lean toward Tiffin because of support after sale.
That was Awesome!
great job of the factory tour
I can only dream about having one. Great video!

Red Bay is about 1.5hrs south of me. I never knew this was there. I'll have to swing by!
Thanks will share with future customers!
Interesting video. Currently enjoying our '04 Allegro Bus.
We like the 2018 Tiffin 32SA a beautiful RV
Very nice tour, thank you.
I'm just waiting for my 6 numbers on the lottery to own one
Great deals can be fine at all price points in a used unit.
Hopefully next yr, our family gets to upgrade from a 29' TT to a 33' ft Tiffin class A
We wish! (although we still love our Newmar). :)
VERY INTERESTIN
I USED TO DELIVER THE AWNINGS TO THEM FROM LAGRANGE IN.
I wouldn't mind having the job of delivery driver from manufacturer to dealer.
i actually work for a certified Tiffin Motorhome warranty center in Arizona.
We are considering next year, doing FULL TIME rving- Class A....We like Tiffen, but what separates them from Winnebago and Fleetwood, for ex.
We own a 2014 Allegro 36LA... As far as gas vs DP goes the 36LA is the nicest layout with the most amount of room with a bath and a half. There isn't a better coach out there! Tiffin will be my choice going forward. Customer Service is second to none. As far as cost goes you're looking at the 150K mark fully loaded... Nice right!
+Jonathan Scharf I have an 03 Phaeton 35 in A1 shape . love it , when I trade it will be for a tiffin . and it is diesel ,
+Jonathan Scharf We love our 2012 35BA too - converted the bunkhouse to an office which is perfect for us, as we have two dedicated work spaces. Agree service is excellent. We're about to find out more as at Tiffin service center in Alabama now. Videos to come.
I bought a 33 A red Allagra and nothing but trouble, it has been at service 1st time for 3 weeks, going back to service again and I think this time it will be at least 4 weeks, very poor manufacturing
Are there Tiffin dealers nd service centers nationwide or do you have to drive to Alabama for service?
They have a nationwide service network too.
Looks like a grand motel on wheels
From India
do I see a new coach in your future?
What's their top of the line RV and what are the price ranges?
The Zephyr is the top of the line. Not sure about price, but here's the link: tiffinmotorhomes.com/zephyr
whwts the cost of allegro 36a
that classic was a winnebago right?
+Gregory Perkins nope , Freightliner .
Robert Shipman that old one at the pumps is a freightliner?
I want to do works in this company but I am Indian
Do they build the Tiffin motorhome right hand drive
You can check with Tiffin to confirm, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say no.
+Tony Parrella Are you in Australia or Europe? Tiffin Australia imports them from the USA and converts them to right hand drive on the Gold Coast, we met the guys and are currently doing a video on it. Guy called Murray runs the show, he's great.
Prevost
Please send me brochure and price list
You probably want to contact the company for that. tiffinmotorhomes.com
So next RV... Tiffin or Newmar?
Shall i say Newmar King Aire? :)
+Henri Beaudoin Newmar. 100%! Those King Aires are sublime. 😊
+RVgeeks good. a buddy of mine just got a brand new King Aire. amazing interior. how much longer will you keep the mountain Aire?
Since we're still so upside down in the mortgage, we won't be selling any time soon.... unless of course you know someone who wants to buy it for top dollar. ;-)
+RVgeeks yeaaa. that's the only downside to full timing.. your house depreciates instead of usually appreciating! what did a mountain aire cost 10 years ago? how many miles on your rig?
If we remember right, retail was something like $350K when we bought it just over 11 years ago. We've got about 65,000 miles on it now.
So old fashioned compared to European models
i want a job,lol.
India
i dont under stand why i cant buy a solid coloer rv why do i have to have all that strippng crap
Lawrence Constantine We don't get it either, but there may be some manufacturers willing to leave off the stripes. For example, Newmar does a lot of customizing.
+RVgeeks i bet winnebago would solid color you one.
Would have looked so much nicer without the silly childish strips.
Where's all the Mexicans?
Uh.... Mexico?
+RVgeeks have to comment... lmao! : D
+bob smith hunting voting booths in the US .
Eye candy, beautiful looks, poorly designed for thousands of buyer's hard-worked dollars.
The more repairs I do on my MH, the more I see how poorly the RVs are designed here in America.
Our RVs are not made to last, they are almost disposable, besides require frequent and several maintanance, many repairs are almost impossible due the way the RVs are assembled.
Plastic parts under heavy loads, thin wood walls to go rotten instead of a thin layer of plastic or better material, wood subfloor with zero treatment or sealant, one water connection that is also made of plastic that burst, your RV floor and walls will disolve.
We should make things better than China.
I don't think we need Germans or Japanese engineers to show us us how it should be done, we know how but most buyers have no clue about the flaws.
Cost and weight are not excuse for the poor design.
