In this video, I gather up some things made of metal and try them out on the xTool F1 laser. I left the green protective box up for filming purposes only so that you could see the laser work. I wore protective glasses rated for red laser and I never looked directly at the laser while it worked. Always be safe when using lasers. - Jak na to + styl
Those engrave times are still pretty quick. My diode laser is way slower and my average burns into wood run 25-40 minutes.
Thank you for watching! I agree. I’m okay with the time but I figured others might not be.
Hey Marilyn, i finally got my F1 and i love it, it has already become a great addition to my business
That's awesome! I'm glad you love it. It is pretty sweet!
Everything looks great!
Thank you!
Excited for all you show us with this 🎉❤ Making Metal Cute with Marilyn ❤🎉
Thanks Heather!
Great video! I’m having such fun with my F1- looks like you are too!
Thank you so much! I sure am having fun with it. Now I need to tackle the extension kit.
Mine is still in the box too. Can’t wait to see your video

That's a powerful little machine and the projects really turned out nice! What did Tim think of the stapler?
Looking forward to seeing how the extension plate works. Happy Lasering!
Tracey
He thought it was funny, thank goodness 🙂
Good video thanks looks good ❤
Thank you Jessie!
Is the engraving deep at all? Or is level/flat with the surface? These look great!
When engraving on metal, it's not very deep but it varies with the types of metal. On some metals, it goes deeper than others. A fiber laser probably goes deeper.
Thanks for the share
Thanks for watching!
Have you figured out a way for it to do 1 pass with blue laser, and 2nd pass with I.R.
I'm doing a batch run and having to do the whole batch with blue laser, then put them all back in the jig, change over to I.R. for pass 2 to get the clear look I'm after. But that's risky of course moving in and out of jigs with ghosting.
The only option I can find is number of passes, not pass 1 on blue, pass 2 with I.R.
Any ideas?
Great video. What did you clean the spatula handle with afterwards?
I don't remember for sure, but I usually just use rubbing alcohol and a soft rag or paper towel, but paper towels can scratch some things.
Thank you for sharing! What was the setting for the stainless steel fish tag? Thanks 😊
I just used the default setting. So, when you select that dog tag, it sets everything for you. I'm not at home to check right now, but you won't have to mess with settings unless you want to slow it down or something like that.
@@MakingwithMarilyn I did the standard settings and mine looks so light compared to yours. thank you for your response
How small a text can it engrave and still look detailed. Have an interest in engraving coin blanks. Also, will the software allow curved lettering on round objects? Need to know before i invest in one.
The F1 can engrave very small and still be detailed. I have another video where I engraved an entire paragraph on a dog tag style blank and it looked great. By curved text, do you mean that it follows the round curve of the coin blank? If so, yes, it can engrave any shape that you can design whether in xTool Creative Space or another design software. Do you get your coin blanks off of Amazon? I could try to get a few and try it out.
O MY GOODNESS! How cool is that!!!! Why do I want this now!!! 🤣
Thanks so much for watching!
What settings did you use for the flash drive?
Power 100 speed of 50. Same settings as for the prior ice cream scoop.
❤
Cardstock was genius
I tried multiple things, but the cardstock was thin and worked well.
Electrically charged nickel dip?
Not sure what that is, but I will look into it. Thanks!
TFS… now I want ice cream😆
Too funny! I always want ice cream!!!
Wow .....i wish companies would send me stuff to try....they are so greedy here in the uk though
What type of metal
I'm not sure what all types of metal it will engrave so check out xTool's website.
Is it noisy???
No, not in my opinion. The air purifier is probably a little louder than the actual laser.
