    If they do choose to come back they need to open their minds to the reality that it is another country and not just another state of their own country, so some things will be different and perceptions certainly will be different. That’s the whole point of travelling - to experience different cultures, not just seeing new scenery and animals.
    It was incredibly irresponsible of them to come to Australia and drive here without having read the Australian Road Rules. It’s online, ffs! Google is your friend. While there are some differences between the road rules in different states, those differences are minor and in general local signage will make clear what the local rules are.

    • @CheekyKoala
      @CheekyKoala  Před 3 dny

      So very true - all of that - I came across a few significant differences in road rules when I moved from Tassie to Victoria - just moving states meant that I needed to make the effort to familiarise myself with the differences - it really was irresponsible of them not to bother with learning our road rules!

    I also watched these people. I think you are right that they were comparing Australia to America. What I found astonishing was that they knew they were going to a county that drove on the lefthand side of the road and thought that the road rules were the same as in America. If this was me, I would have looked into the road rules of the USA.
    With the food, I don't think they would have been happy with any other food than what is available in the USA.

    • @CheekyKoala
      @CheekyKoala  Před 4 dny +1

      I’d be too nervous to drive in another country without first trying to familiarise myself with the road rules somewhat!
      I think you’re right about the food- I kind of got the impression that they wanted to see Australia, but not “experience” Australia- I actually found the way they spoke about meat pies & laughed about them to be quite rude!

    10:12 Most Australians don't understand the rules. The indications at roundabouts. A big one is when they park they keep their driving lights on if you park then fall back to parking lights. They are parked and then flip the high beam when you are coming on. If you are parked avert your eyes you are parked. Most people don't know how to drive.

    • @CheekyKoala
      @CheekyKoala  Před 12 hodinami

      It certainly seems that way these days! I was taught to drive by a British driving instructor who was very much all about correct road rules, driving etiquette etc, I’m often amazed by the ignorance of some other drivers on the road!
