    I'm in my late 50's now and started riding again last year, i hadn't sat on a motorbike since the late 80's. It was a bit daunting to begin with, but i am getting more relaxed with each ride. I stumbled across your channel by accident, and by golly i'm glad i did. Absolutely love your content, even though i am slightly jealous of that beautiful machine of yours. You have a new subscriber and hope to follow your journey with the upcoming reviews. Keep up the good work!

    I have a 2023 - Fuel filler is crazy small. Have to continue to pull out the pump to see where your fuel level is. And I’ve never seen so many warning labels on a bike. And they don’t come off easily. Great video!

      @@RiderReviews I have a 2013 RSV4 Factory and the fuel filler hole is damn small. If I pump in full flow the fuel spills out which scares the hell out of me because the bike runs so hot!

    I own the same bike with Time Attack livery.
    Basically this is a bike that was designed primarily as a track day platform that can be converted into a full blown race bike. You take all the plastics off and put race fairings on, so no need to make the plastics fancy. It would just increase the price.
    The reason for no fuel gauge is to save weight and cost. The fuel filler hole is so small to seal with a quick filler can.

    • @snikwadRR
      @snikwadRR Před 16 dny

      Cruise control was easy to add with full ride by wire. It was essentially just some additional programming to the aprc and ECU. No weight added.
      Not many full superbikes out there have a fuel gauge. It's just not something that's needed and they figured the additional weight of the level sensor and new dash face, why do all that? All bikes these days have a tiny gas and cap filler, it's to reduce off gassing of the fuel during refilling. Blame the tree huggers. @@RiderReviews

    The clutch and brake lever won’t have come in them positions from the factory, they’ve been put there by the dealership when they’ve taken the bike out of the crate and built it up. They should know better tbh, my Tuono was spot on with the standard levers but had to move them about when I put my ASV’s on so there’s 2mm clearance to the minus switch.
    Mines a Tuono so it has bars,so I’m not sure if I’m barking up the wrong tree, but do the clip one have any adjustment in them so you can angle them back towards you a couple of mm so they don’t hit the fairing?
    If they’ve set the levers up wrong so they hit the minus switch, there’s a good chance your clip one are in the wrong place as well

    • @RiderReviews
      @RiderReviews  Před 3 měsíci

      Yes it seems there’s adjustment on both lever positions on the clip ons so might move them slightly, however the actual angle is spot on for me so far in normal riding situations. The clutch lever is fairly close to the traction control minus button but there is clearance.

    Have the same issue with high beam switch on my Tuareg, keep catching it, they have made it slightly smaller on the 24 model I think. Fuel tank hole is smaller than previous bikes but not something that's been an issue filling up yet. One annoying thing I've found is the cruise control symbol flashing when it's turned on but not activated.

    • @RiderReviews
      @RiderReviews  Před 3 měsíci

      The high beam light switch is quite big on mine probably why I keep catching it. Yes the cruise control light flashing looks like I’ve left my indicator on.

    AY up Jake great to see you out and about on the monster RSV4 strange one on the fuel filler maybe the nozzles are smaller or somehow different in europe though I find that a bit odd if it is the case .The RSV4 seems to have a similar niggle to the new Triumph 400's with the high beam switch I have seen a few people who say they keep catching the high beam switch whilst using the clutch lever . That max speed thing is also something that happens on the apps you can get on your phone like the Calimoto one and stuff like that maybe this is a European law thing nowadays that it has to be a feature might be worth checking I am talking to a Spanish friend of mine tonight so I will if ask if he knows if it is indeed legislation and on his bike and can it be disabled if it is . Bikes just stunning ! 👌👍

    The most annoying for this bike is the absence of the gauge for sure.
    Also, I wonder, compared to RS660, about the seat confort, is it as good, worse or better?

    The high beam : I had the same problem @ my Aprilia RS660. It's just bad spot to place this switch.

    No fuel gauge for such an expensive machine is just crazy. What were they thinking? Even the cheapest Chinese made motorcycle has has sort of fuel gauge.

  • @literal_lee
    @literal_lee Před 3 měsíci

    1. From wikipedia: Some nozzles are designed to prevent the motorist selecting the wrong fuel. The nozzle on diesel pumps is supposed to be larger so that it cannot fit into the filler pipe on a vehicle tank designed for gasoline. However, the larger diameter diesel nozzles are not an actual requirement, and many diesel pumps have been fitted with standard gasoline nozzles. Also, the nozzle for leaded gasoline is wider than for unleaded, and the fill pipe on vehicles designed for unleaded-only was made narrower to prevent misfueling. Some diesel fuel tanks are designed to prevent the wrong type of nozzle from being used.
    So not so much an Aprilia 'niggle'.

    • @literal_lee
      @literal_lee Před 3 měsíci

      A fuel gauge would be rather pointless on this bike (I own a 2014 Tuono), as the shape of the fuel tank and it's non-linear depletion of it, would cause the gauge to show 'full' relatively long only to drop to 'low' quite rapidly. The fuel consumption relative to the size of the tank is a pain, I'll give you that... 😏

    • @RiderReviews
      @RiderReviews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      It seems that on the aprilia they are smaller than other models that I’ve encountered.

    • @literal_lee
      @literal_lee Před 3 měsíci

      @@RiderReviewsI never had another modern bike like the Tuono, but I agree that it's pretty narrow indeed.

    • @RiderReviews
      @RiderReviews  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Let’s be honest…there’s not many other bikes on the market in 2024 and prior to this that don’t have fuel gauges. It’s not a lot to ask for on a premium bike is it.

    A very good Easter Sunday to you, firstly this is my third Aprilia RSV having owned two previous incarnations of the V4, those being the 1000RF, I purchased my Ltd
    edition speed white just before Christmas but unfortunately due to work commitments and the typical British weather I have not been able to get out and start the break in period, I would endorse a couple of the niggles you mentioned, one about the lack of space between the front nose fairing and bars but when you take all things into consideration the Aprilia is effectively a race bike out of the box and when the designers and engineers put his beast together the ergonomics probably came pretty low down on their list of considerations, the second point with regard to the quality of the plastics, I would agree it's not the best however I will be treating my pride and joy to a full PPF in order to preserve the original paint finish from stone chips and scratches, in conclusion most bikes these days come with niggles of some kind and put his down to quirky design especially where the Italians are concerned? None the less I still believe the Aprilia RSV is one of the best bikes out there for the money currently and has a soundtrack like no other, I shall look forward to getting out on mine very soon, keep the vids coming, subscribed.

I’d also be interested to know how many ltd edition speed whites have been produced ‘Totally love this colour’. Hopefully have some great summer weather for running in…..take care Jake.

      Had a couple of RSV's a good few years ago, both fantastic but at that time there were 4 dealerships in my area now there's only one, but regardless I'm still very tempted to take the plunge again but have also been looking at the new "updated" Blade. Any plans on aftermarket exhausts? Very much enjoying the content.

      @grahamjay4155 Thanks Graham yes my nearest dealership is around 100 miles away so quite a run out. Would be very tempted with an aftermarket exhaust possibly when clocked up more miles and fully run in. Cheers 👍

      @@RiderReviews Hi Jake, Not sure how many have or will be produced in the Speed white, but from my previous experience of LE produced bikes by Aprilia my first RF was a numbered LE No 446 from 500 for the European market, this was etched in the head stock but Aprilia continued to produce the same colour scheme without the so called LTD EDITION Number, it kind of makes a mockery of having that machine that you believe to be exclusive, I guess if their order books are full from one particular model year then i suppose they are going to keep the production run going?.
      As for the speed white looking at Aprilia's Web site it no longer appears as an option and they maybe just a couple left for sale in the UK? the Ultra Black Factory with the gold wheels seems to be a popular choice to go for now as prices have been slashed with £5000 discounts offered from certain dealers, so if you're not fussy on the colour it's a bit of a bargain for such a brilliant bike.
      All best Steve.
