  • Explore Copenhagen including Christiansborg Palace, Rundetaarn, Rosenberg Castle and
staying Villa Copenhagen Hotel with it's rooftop pool!
Follow us for our 2nd half of a weekend of best things to do in Copenhagen. We stay at Villa Copenhagen, a historic building with a contemporary twist including an impressive glass dome atrium. We also take a late-night swim in the hotel’s unique feature - the only rooftop pool in the city.
We spent or final day visiting key landmarks to determine what to do in Copenhagen. We started with a short walk from Tivoli Gardens past the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek museum to the island of Slotsholmen where you will find Christiansborg Palace. Here you can visit the tallest viewpoint in the city for free with the bonus of an elevator and the upscale Tårnet restaurant.
However, we chose to not climb this tower and instead crossed over the main through fare of Strøget and headed to the Rundetaarn - The Round Tower. Here we climbed the unique circular spital tower with a great viewing platform and even an observatory. After which we headed to Rosenberg Castle, home to the Danish Treasury and the food halls of Torvehallerne KBH.
After taking the Copenhagen metro to Christianshavn, we took a stroll along the waterfront back to the picturesque Nyhavn. However, we still squeezed in one last landmark with the Church of Vor Frelsers Kirke, one of the tallest viewpoints in the city with an open spiral staircase to the top!
To end of final night, we headed to our last dinner at the Michelin guide featured Høst Restaurant, featuring new Nordic cuisine. Afterwards we headed back to our hotel Villa Copenhagen for a final late-night swim in the hotel’s unique rooftop pool!

Off course, we can't use money on everything we see, but Rosenborg Castle is worth it. So beautiful inside. If more castles are required, there is Frederiksborg Castle, located in Hillerød, about 40 minutes from Copenhagen City Center. It is not without reason, it is called the Nordic Versailles, but save it for summer, the parks, lakes, and gardens are best in the summer.
If you are a Shakespeare fan, then Kronborg Castle is a must. It is located in Helsingør, a little hour north of Copenhagen. It is the castle, that Shakespeare is said "to have used" for he's Hamlet. Many famous British actors have done Hamlet there. From the top of my head Richard Burton, Kenneth Branagh (very good performance), Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud and many more.
NOTE: Kronborg is a military castle.
