  • With Dawn of the Planet of the Apes fast approaching (but not fast enough!), we figured it was time to point the sin cannon at one of the most notorious of all the PotA movies (and that's saying something!)... Tim Burton's 2001 Planet of the Apes reboot.
Special thanks to our good friend, Mike, who watched this movie with us and helped with the sins.
Thursday: Probably something else Apes related.
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we recount next?

Also the end of this movie has an interesting twist with tons of clues in the beginning. They all arrive in opposite order than when they went through the time warp. So when they returned at some point the apes also decided to go through that time portal and landed much sooner than Marky Mark and his funky bunch, hence conquering Earth and changing history.

Remember, there's a pattern with their releases, they released Transformers Revenge of the Fallen and Dark Side of the Moon when Age of Extinction was coming out, they released this one (and hopefully Rise of the Planet of the Apes) since the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is coming out.

There's earth, and there's this "ape" planet
If you travel from the earth's future, you arrive at the ape past, and if you travel from the ape's future, you go to earth's past, and it works if you switch the times as well, if you travel from the earth's past, you get out on the ape future and vice versa. What happened is that Pericles got in first, so he landed last, Leo goes in right after, landing earlier than Pericles, and the crew goes in last, only to arrive at the planet's past. Then at the end, Thade is able to get Leo's ship, study and repair it to use it and arrive at the earth's past, changing everything on the earth's history. Hope this helped explain

@@dibbidydoo4318 @V4R3LA YT You're telling me that a lone military ape, who lives in a world that views what we call science as "sorcery", was able to study and repair the ship? Keeping in mind that that Thade was trapped in the ship's control room with no food or water, how long do you suppose it took him to figure out the ship before dying of starvation? The ship crashed nose first and was totaled. It's nuclear, so it still had power, but how did he get the ship dug out to turn it around for launch out of the atmosphere, all while still being locked in the control room with no knowledge of science, food, or water? Supposing he was able to accomplish all of this, how did he go back thousands of years in Earth's history and populate (single-handedly) the world with humanoid apes without being brutally destroyed by Genghis Kahn, for a start? I really really enjoyed the movie for what it was, but truthfully, it was written very poorly.

Our land is littered with burning images of sarcastic chickens and dogs having boardroom meetings.
We... we tried to fight back. We thought our 'Babes of Hollyoaks' and 'Top Gear' calendar barrage would end this madness. But, no. The images of pale, skinny, chilly-looking girls from the North West of England and three middle-aged men posing awkwardly next to posh cars only spurred our enemy into greater resolve.

The problem with the British system is not the metric system or the imperial, it's the fact we use both. Somebody will tell you how tall they are, and depending on how you measure your own, you're gonna have to do some maths to work out how tall they are compared to you. One example among many, but it illustrates the point.

"What's wrong with doing stuff differently"
Only this. All of the principles of Maths, Physics, Chemistry and other sciences, every formula that applies to real things, uses a system of measurement called SI Units. These include seconds, metres, kilograms, mols, etc. Any quantity can be expressed as a combination of the seven SI Units: for example, momentum is in units of kilogram metres per second, or second Newtons, depending on personal preference.
To my knowledge, there is one "developed" country in the WHOLE WORLD that doesn't use SI Units. In fact, a multimillion dollar space probe was once destroyed because someone assumed the numbers they'd been given were in Newtons, the SI Unit of force, not pounds. Guess which country that is?
But if you insist on using your illogical, outdated systems of Fahrenheit, miles, pounds and, of course, MMDDYY, go ahead. Just remember, the rest of the world is quite capable of leaving you behind if we have to :)

Whats wrong with the "british date"?
I am sorry, but we Europeans got the better System.
    Eg:
    what is heavier:
    2lbs 12oz or 50oz?
    In metric system:
    0.91kg+340g=1.25kg or 1420g=1.42kg
The metric system allows easy calculation of lengths weights, volumes and pressures, but also calculation in between different units e.g.:
    1m3 of water=1t=1000kg; 1mL=1cm3; 1uL=1mm3
Calculating the american way feels like writing in roman numbers, partially using the duodecimal system. *So please tell me why it is worth sticking with this system!*

Those nations united still represent a smaller portion of the world population than the big ones that use the "American" calendar format. Also as technology advances the "American" format will eventually replace the "british" format as American companies continue to indirectly onto consumers worldwide push the format when signing up for their services and products.
