By far the best interpretation I've yet heard; it's the ebb and flow that make this composition truly breathe. Most conductors are in too much a hurry.

Sitting and listening to this piece is beautiful...but, many years ago in High School, my Band played this piece, and I have to tell you....goosebumps and chills went thru my body as I was the tympanist in the band. The ending just is so powerful, with the beautiful chords and counter melodies going on, just an incredible work of music. When we first rehearsed the piece I thought, as a 16 year old, "This piece is totally boring"!!!..Boy, was I wrong. I wish i could play it just one more time...:(

Heb dit stuk nog gespeeld als inspeelwerk op het wmc in 1989. Prachtig.

I like the unison low brass towards the end to mimic organ pedals, and they did it superbly!

Prachtige uitvoering!!!

Never been a fan of conductors who don't use a baton. He did a great job though.

Excellent, different, but not nearly as pleasing as Baylor University's version.

It is my theme song of my life.
The horn for call Christ Jesus.
The sword for judge to justice.
The ring for marriage to you(me) and God.
The swan is ambassador from heaven.
    I can't win to God!!
But if you call God, he will come immediately.
I call ... this peace of mind.
This art celebrates the glory of God.
There are some expressions that I am sorry for Hungarian people.
    Don't forget this part.

Five stars for the orchestra, but 1 star for the conductor! What is this business with the fluttering hand? IT LOOKS SO STUPID!

I think he's doing a magnificent job. He's bringing the raw power out of the ensemble. Just because YOU don't like what he's doing, doesn't mean he's not conducting well. He's making a big gesture for a big moment. Who cares what he looks like anyways. Listen to the amazing music.

    • @danmart1879
      @danmart1879 Před 9 lety

mw7KING You did not read my comment correctly. If I gave the orchestra 5 stars it means the conductor did a great job! Besides having done a great job, the fluttering hand looks stupid. I still stand by my comment. PS: Of course I listened to the amazing music---I gave the performance 5 stars.
