Was it their before Marcus even died. Many years ago Marcus had an affair that they swept under the rug. Someone that found out about it started blackmailing him for money. Told him they would expose him if he didn't pay the money. So Marcus came out and told about it along with the blackmail. Never stepped down but kept going on like it was all good.

I watch Daystar for years now. I like to watch Joni Table Talk and Ministry Now before it was called "Marcus & Joni" then they've changed it to Ministry Now during the 2020 pandemic. Last March I watched Joni Table Talk with Jimmy Evans. I was so shocked when Jimmy introduced Doug Weiss as Joni's fiance. I asked myself how can she fell in-love so quickly when her husband Marcus of 39 years just died over a year ago. Marcus died November 30, 2021. I researched about Doug Weiss so he's a Psychologist. Lisa his wife is also a licensed therapist. They're both Christian therapist. Of course, as Christians we know that
Joni is free to remarry because her husband is dead. But I wished she didn't felt to a divorced man. "Dr. Doug Weiss treats "sex addiction" and claims to be in recovery from sex addiction for over 30 years".
I watched the Ministry Now two days ago and to my surprised that Doug Weiss is now on that show. He said "my beautiful bride" to Joni. It's quite sad.

I think the supporters of Ministry Now deserve more explanation than one TV preacher saying this union is ok. Joni recently lost her husband, shocking, and this might explain her rush to fill that loss with another man, but a divorced sex therapist who had a porn addiction? And a marriage counselor/pastor/PhD who charges a lot for his advice, but he couldn’t save his own marriage? And now I see him sitting in Marcus’s chair like Marcus never existed…touching and rubbing and bragging about marrying Marcus’s wife…it’s too much for me. I don’t trust this man who slid so quickly and easily into Marcus Lamb’s place and is taking over his million dollar(s) ministry and lifestyle…plus getting Marcus’s wife?! I can’t even watch.
Agree! Additionally Marcus frequently mentioned he was grooming their only son Jonathan Lamb to take his place. Obviously Joni has decided not to honor that since Doug is seating in the Host seat and taking over the interviews. It's obvious, although they won't address the questions being asked that Jonathan and Suzy ate struggling with the situation. They have not been on Ministry Now since July 11th when Joni ridiculed Jonathan when he said "back to you mom" and she responded "back to you mom and Doug, he's also here" and Doug rudely responded "yes I am."

After re-listening to the engagement video Jimmy Evans said Doug left his marriage because he was being
'damaged "by Lisa for many years and he "endured" it. They also said he was a man of integrity. If he was such a man of integrity, why was he telling everyone he had a great marriage? Sounds like a lie. This is so messed up on many levels. Jimmy Evans telling Joni what she wants to hear, what a sellout he is.

What also is crazy is when Doug went through his divorce he had a gag order put on his wife so she couldn’t tell her side of the story. Why would a spouse do this unless he was hiding something. It’s been 1 1/2 since Marcus death and now she is married to Doug!! It has been 4 yrs since my husband passed and I am still grieving over it. I still have no interest in dating. Just a weird situation with them. Too many questions need to be answered.

Most people who jumped into this situation that soon whom I know personally had more negative repercussions than positive ones. I personally find it a bit off the charts. I fear that Daystar will be losing big time on this one.

I had a bad feelin’ in my spirit about this when I heard they were getting engaged. The fact that Dr Weiss has left his wife of 30 years and a year later is marrying Joni Lamb, is very shocking to me. The Bible looks down on divorce if it has no proper grounds unless there is adultery involved. I hope and pray Lisa does not believe for one moment she is solely responsible for the failure of her marriage. Wow…thank you for this revelation about Lisa being blamed. It’s Doug’s fault too. Show’s how he grabbed at the opportunity to get what Marcus had and I had an icky feeling about this from the very start. If it’s not in God’s plan, which I cannot see it is, their relationship will not last. I hope Joni has legally protected Daystar’s assets from Doug, otherwise I’m afraid it may ruin their ministry. I still watch the Daystar Channel to such programs like Dr. Charles Stanley's In Touch, John Hagee Ministry, etc.
Isn't Doug a top notch marriage counselor? Why would anyone counsel with him anymore? He couldn't even save his own marriage so much for having all these degrees behind his name.

Marcus clearly stated he was grooming Jonathan to take his place when the time came, but clearly Joni has decided not to honor this. Doug has been sitting in the host seat since they returned from their honeymoon. Jonathan and Suzy have not been on Ministry Now or spoken of, even though people are asking about them, since the July 11th episode in which Joni reprimanded Jonathan on air for not acknowledging Doug which was unnecessary. Daystar is viewed worldwide and Doug feels it's appropriate to start the show with "I'm here with my favorite person, wife, lover and friend? This is very disrespectful to Joni's children, Daystar Partners and anyone else watching. If you read Suzy's Instagram posts it's obvious she and Jonathan are struggling with conviction in being a part of Joni's recent choices.
I think Jonathan should be in Marcus seat. Even if Joni remarried.

As a woman who's husband died seven years ago, I question how anyone could be ready to be married so soon. I don't know how anyone can heal from divorce or death of a spouse this soon. It is best not to get involved with someone out of loneliness.

Now, I'm starting to wonder how Marcus, a completely healthy man succumbed to illness all so sudden, leaving his wife all his fortune and his network. And the all so sudden as well, this guy comes out of nowhere to sweep her off her feet.
This is November 19 2023. Joni and Doug married in June. I thought Doug looked firmilar,but watching part of the wedding tape something didnt feel right. It was only after I saw all the details, and was shocked. I think Joni is being deceived,and should know what scripture says about this. Praying for Lisa,her kids,and Joni to wake up. If he was giving her grief counseling then he violated ethical counseling standards. A counselor is not allowed to be personally involved with any one he or she counsels for at least two years after the counseling stops. This is a perfect example of why not. People are vulnerable and this man preyed on her with his knowledge of her vulnerabilities.
Also, it appears he initiated divorce as soon as Marcus passed since it was complete in Spring 2022. He must have been waiting for her, for years.

I remembered Joni once said on her Table Talk show that she and Doug Weiss had spent hundreds of hours talking. They've spent talking months ago even before he got divorced and Marcus Lamb just died. So, I really couldn't believe that Joni would just fell in love so quickly. She was married for 39 years plus. And got remarried after just over a year ago.

So, in one year, Joni was engaged to another man. Marcus hadn’t even been dead one year! Tells me, obviously, Joni and Doug Weiss started dating soon after Marcus died. I hope and pray that Joni has a pre-nup….

I agree. I was married and said I would never get divorced but after 13 years of marriage, we divorced. It's been 23 years now and I'm still not remarried. I don't even date because I believe what the bible said. I don't judge anyone for divorce but I will never understand how people can be ok with going from one to the other.

Nonetheless I still stuck to what the word says about divorce and remarriage. It would have been better for her to have married a widower or to someone who was never married. So yes where is the integrity when another woman you know personally is hurting so much right now and you going to marry her ex husband of 30 years plus. I accidently came upon the Joni Lamb talk show one day; and, of course, she had her daughters join her on the show. Everything they said and every action they took screamed that they were as phoney as $7.00 bills. The younger of the two daughters had the most disgusting smile from ear to ear on everything that was discussed. You couldn't pick a more wretched example of the phoney, pretend christians who are earning millions of dollars on other people's ignorance!!! There was not an iota of genuine christian persuasion, but one of an actress trying to perfect her smile!! It was revolting beyond description. I purposefully tuned in one more day to see if perhaps they could actually display a sense of true christianity, but it was the same and even to worse degree the second time around. I knew I would never again tune into to such ludicrous phoniness!!
I came across the show for the first time last night and found it intriguing, but the longer I watched the more it seemed so fake. The women made up like prostitutes, and wearing platform high heels or Hooker boots. Everyone had a hard done by story, BUT they all supposedly had happy fairy tale endings. Today (12/19/23) on Ministry Now was their "Family Christmas" show. In the opening shot everyone looked off and the atmosphere seemed awkward, but they put on their phoney smiles. They shared their favorite traditions, played a tree decorating game and expressed how much they love their Daystar Partners.
Unfortunately Joni's firstborn son Jonathan and his wife Suzy were not a part of the celebration. I understand they are on "sabbatical" (since July 12th) but, Jonathan is the Vice President and in the office daily and has been participating in this special showing for years..... what's changed?

Rose diamond I feel the exact same way and Jimmy Evans,He has always had a problem with being very sexual and I think the same thing is going on with Doug . I think that Joanie should really have a very long talk with Lisa, the ex-wife, and if this is real love, it can be a very long, long, long engagement, but he’s pushing it to have sex.
