If you dont have an MMI box in your glove compartment, there is a big chance you'll find an insert hiding the last screw to release the glove box. you'll need to bend them inwards slightly on the left and right side to remove said insert. Just spend an hour trying to remove it haha :)
Ruurd Smorenburg I installed mine and it was super easy. Buy the right plastic picks and spoons to take apart the dash and you’re golden. So happy with the end result.
Jay Huffington I ordered mine off eBay. There are so many and they very so much in price. I looked for one that included the knob and buttons near the shifter and for one that was running Android 8.1 at the very least. Mine came from China and while there is a language barrier, if you have some willingness to figure things out yourself you’ll be fine. I went into it knowing there wouldn’t be much customer support. I’m the end I’m super happy with it.

I did not know that audi q5 is equipped with 3g wifi. For factory backup camera, you just need to change android setting no additional wire required. For aftermarket backup camera, you need to connect video input only.
Good video. My radio keep cutting the Audi. The screen is on and everything work but it keep restarting the mmi system like turn it off back on play the sound and cut. Every 2 second

I've got a 2011 Audi Q5. I tried to follow exactly how you do in the video. Everything works great except for the sound system connection. When I selected Media, I heard a weird sound instead of seeing the Media screen pop up in the MMI system. Because I couldn't change the source for the new screen, when I played something, it wouldn't play sound on my car. I hope you can give me some guidance on how to resolve this. Thanks!
I have 2015 Q5 and you have to connect ami cable that came in the box then change source to external input, but even though I have same issue with the sound. It is like background digital noises and lots of people having same issue.
I have a 2017 SQ5 with back up camera OEM, but still had to remove the glove box, thanks for the instructions. I found a cable that gave me power to unit plus RPM info and more. Still haven’t found the video cable for the back up camera. There’s just a lot of cables that aren’t used. It’s hard without a manual but you helped a lot with your vid. Thanks a lot man!

yes it will work 2016 Q5 but you need to buy different firmware version. If your suv already comes with factory rearview camera, I will say it will take max 2 hours.

I believe it would depending on which model radio system you have. The one in this video looks like the Symphony audio system = the most basic Audi system.
@@0M1995 if you have aux connected to AMI in the glove box, try unplugging the aux cable. This worked for me, however sound quality isn’t as good as radio, which is annoying as have B&O system.
Hello, I’ve installed on my A5 2013 a carpad (android 9, 4gb ram), everything is working fine, but when I go to the original menu, I can’t find the right resolution. Either it’s to big or to small and the letters are with pixels.. I have tried around 20 resolutions and updates but nothing works. Do you know what could be the problem?

ive installed poweramp to play music, but it cant read from the internal drive, i think its blocked. Ive tried with other apps which wants access to the internal hard drive but its the same story, anybody have a clue what to do?

Tienes que conectarlo con el botón Media de la radio Concert y seleccionar AUX, si tienes instalado un MMI en la guantera y no te aparece la opción AUX, tendrás que hacerlo con el VAGCOM en el módulo radio(56). Luego Coding(7)- long coding helper. Vas al Byte1 y seleccionas bit 1 y bit3. En el Byte11, debes de seleccionar que NO tienes MMI. Le das a exit y ya lo tendrá como opción AUX en la tecla MEDIA de la radio

There are 2 versions of 10.25 android. One is for ineternal mmi version which I am using. Other one is for MMI 3g but installation is pretty smilliar as well as price is almost same
If all your replacing is the monitor, it seems it would have been easier to make the new monitor more of a plug-and-play and not need a new wire harness.

That has to do with the GPS antenna from what I understood of another video I saw about installing this display, it came with a GPS and GSM antenna.

@Rico Hogeveen I had to buy OBDEleven, and do the AUX coding through that. You set the AUX to be enabled always and it worked that way.

i think with the audi's you can use the MMI output to aux to trick the system into playing whats on the media device?

@@devonxscotttoo I manage reduce the static noise. Turn of GALA, reduce the default treble of your car to -2. This is about 70% fix, give it a shot.

You need to buy the airbag control cable separately online. Vcds only erases it once and then if you turn the car back on it will return

It is not required to connect any additional connection for sound. Just connect harnesses.
