    Alexi, you are doing what I've been looking for years. I couldn't find anything like the new videos you're producing... Your videos not only teach new photographers how to take the first steps into the world of fashion and portrait photography, they also inspire us on how to do it the right way.
    Thank you Alexi, keep on sharing... :)

    Alexi, thanks for educational but fun to watch videos :)
    You allowed to ask questions :) can you please explain more about how you choose the light. Because one day you shoot with one light next day with another, how do you know what light works best and when? how do you choose how to light the subject and how do you come up with different lights - I mean you searching for inspiration or just trying something in hope that it will work or how the process is working? because for example very often I can have idea what to shoot but i'm not sure what light do I need to use for such idea.

    Great video! All the content you've been posting has been extremely informative and also enjoyable to watch, so thank you.
    I was wondering if you could make a video about your meditation practices? I've been meaning to get into meditation and would love to hear about how you got started, which type of meditation you perform, and maybe a brief technique tutorial? Maybe it's not suitable content for this channel, but I think a lot of us could benefit from it!

    Dear Alexi,
    thank you for many great insights into your work and workflow. You showed us the images for german vogue in Capture One. Can you tell how much post processing is usually done to your images? I assume that not all the images in that Folder were postprocessed.for the final print in vogue? Or is there so little post processing that everything is done in Capture One? Do you / your Team Postprocess your images or is it done by externally? Kind Regards, Thomas

    Awesome to see, very much on par with how I approach culling of a shoot.
    I had a few questions, when you say "you grab one image and edit it" What do you mean by that?
    Are you processing the colour of the raw file in say Capture One to where you'd like it, Or are you grading everything in photoshop?
    And finally, what do you find is the benefit of doing this in the middle or beginning of a shoot? Do you find you change direction because of it? What does it do for you?
    Thanks in advance Alexi, love your work.

      +Alexi Lubomirski thanks for the reply! All good information. Must be a challenge to balance the momentum of the shoot and the checking to ensure its all working together. Great work!

    @ropersix Před 8 lety

    Great, useful stuff! I do have one question (maybe even a topic for a future video) after seeing that you're pretty good at using Capture One. Basically, I'm wondering how much time a photographer should put into learning technical/software/post skills? Obviously it's good to know the basics, but I'm often trying to do the skin retouching, composites, etc, for my projects, while also hoping someday to have someone else with do all that. Same thing goes for trying to be my own digital tech. I know enough to get my simpler personal projects done, but sometimes I think I should sped time learning more and getting better at digital workflow, but then I also think it's taking me away from the creative role. So I guess I'm just wondering how you balanced that when doing your own work along the way.

      @ropersix Před 8 lety

      +Alexi Lubomirski thanks, that's good to hear. I'll keep at the tech part too.

    I am a very frustrated brazilain photographer in Japan,...why?...bcz here they don't let the photographers do what they want to do,...the editors here choose the picts themselves, the design of the page is already set before the pictures are taken, there is no room for cropping since they want to show every single detail of the clothes,...and I feel they don't want to tell a story...they just want to show the clothes...a head shot in an Prada editorial?...what for?...we don't see the clothes...right?...then they complain the magazines are not selling!..of course they are not selling...magazines are not selling a dream...a mood...they are simply selling clothes!...and fashion is not only about the clothes...right?...I guess it is where the clothes are going to take you to!...it makes me feel so frustrated...blocks my imagination...sometimes I want to have the pict with a bit more contrast,...but as she is wearing black all the details of the clothes disappear!!...:( ...black&white?...never!...you don't see the real colours!! :( have you ever dealt with these kind of things?...wish I could make my own fashion magazine here in Tokyo!
