- Today I went on Stronghold Legends Multiplayer and fought against randoms! The servers are still populated and Online matches are quite an experience. I used to play Stronghold legends against Randoms all the time when I was younger. I got beat every single time but it taught me a lot. Now that I'm back and wanting to learn, it's time to face my fears and learn new stuff. I have never been as afraid as in this video..

I remember playing 2v2 SHL against randoms back in 2008-09 at my friends house at sleepovers. Most of the players were Dutch for some reason, so to communicate my friend and I would alt+tab out and use google translate lol. This was all at super high ping so the game ran slower than a turtle, probably 5FPS server side on a good day. A single game could take upwards of 4 hours, assuming everyone stayed connected the entire time, because the game ran so slow. Before the match, we would make the rules "no trebs, no fly, no wwl" (no trebuchets, no flying units, no werewolf launchers, because those were OP)

Those were the days, man! I did the same thing, used to play a lot against Randoms in 2007-2010. I am Dutch myself so it was very likely that we fought each other one day, because I don't remember a lot of Dutch people playing back then. It was mostly Brits, Russians and Germans. The FPS was cruel haha, I remember a 2v2 map called: Beowulf. You could place down like 60 iron farms and use every factions' troops because everyone got 3 towers. It made the servers lag so much but it was so chaotic and fun. The rules are still ingrained in my own brain and in this match we said the same thing (I feel sad now that I cut it out of the video) Because if you notice we don't use dragons in this match and we also don't use Trebuchets.

@REMIX House HD Use Gameranger for the version you have. There are lobbies there! Not as many as on Steam though

Me too! I've loved this game since I started somewhere in 2007 and it's really cool to see that Multiplayer lobbies are still populated and that people on CZcams are enjoying watching videos of this game!

SHL is really good game, unfortunately is too different from other parts, looking like spinoff from normal SH. Thats why it is neglected. Definitely my second favourite part of franchise after SHC.

I never tried the multiplayer of Legends out, so I have a small question, why didn't you just spawn Arthur's Bodyguard seeing as he was sieging you down while you were behind when it came to the economy, wouldn't they have helped since they're essentially free value?

I agree! Stronghold Legends is by far my favourite Stronghold game. Get it on Steam! The servers are still relatively alive and there's a lot of custom maps in the steam workshop!
I will watch this Video later, tho I thought on revisiting Stronghold Multiplayer with randoms again in my Holidays, so that is gonna be fun

Sadly i cant play consistently because the game splits most of the time. people get kicked out from my game and i get kicked from theirs so we all end up playing alone...

Haha very understandable! Although I am not a big fan of the 'meta' playstyle personally. Like, for example, building a ton of chicken farms only. Stuff like that is very good but not fun to me. But besides stuff like that I will definitely improve the more I play! I at least hope you enjoyed the video :D
I'm assuming this is the steam version? I heard the original servers are offline.
Last I played almost 10 years ago original servers were online but was completely dead.
I would definitely shell out cash and buy the steam version if there is at least some multi-player active
Yes correct, this is the steam version. I think the OG Legends used gamespy but that's offline for a while now unfortunately.
The servers had a boost since steam, it's pretty low now but it's still possible to get matches. Especially if you get to know member sof the community.
I'd say go for it! As you can see from my videos I'm able to get matches with randoms. Some days you might be unlucky but other days the servers are quite busy

I downloaded and I stalled SHL from pirate bay and its an older version. Can you please explain how can I play multilayer because I play this game like on usual 2-3 hours a day. Please respond and explain how can you set up to play online...
Explaining it in detail is too much for text. But you're looking for a program called Gameranger. Look up on CZcams how Gameranger works (I'ts not hard) and then you can play Stronghold Legends with other players

Why people decline this beautiful game and play stronghold crusader which is 2d and stronghold crusader 2 which is cannot be playeble in low end pc?
Brother you shuold only make siegetower and crosboww on it and maceman to support fast nothing else sword man is funny troop

I recommend buying it on steam. It has workshop support and improved graphics + multiplayer servers. If you think Steam is a bit too expensive you can get a Stronghold Legends key on a site like G2A for a bit cheaper and put the code you bought into steam. There are tutorials on CZcams that tell you how G2A works

Which one is better stronghold warlords or legend
I have not played Warlords yet, so I can't give an opinion on it. But even though legends is an older game I still really enjoy it and I come back to it often. I do prefer the Legends artstyle over Warlords' artstyle. I think legends looks more realistic. But gameplay-wise, sorry I don't know

I hate the multipalyer in this game awlays the same boring tactic
Agreed, I call it the 'Tower strategy'. Where they just bunch up siege towers, so they act like shields and then use Crossbowmen or Macemen. Same old, same old.
That's why I banned that strategy in my Stronghold Legends Chapter series. The matches there are so much more organic. Check out the playlist, if you haven't seen them yet
@@Codicc Do you know is it possible to set up skirmish games with premade armies of units for multiple factions? You can do it for yourself and whatever units you spawned in the editor will be there for you, but if I do it for the CPU then they instantly disappear. If there is a player instead of CPU, will the units disappear as well or will they stay ? I am currently making a medieval trench warfare map for Stronghold Legends
@@RandyOrlok It is possible, but a bit tricky. I know it works for other players beside yourself, but not sure if it works for the CPU. I think it should. You can have some issues with the colours not matching. So if the colours of the units are not correct, try a different colour until it works properly.
