  • Smart City: The idea of a smart city sounds very fascinating at first: Underground automatic gardens, remote controlled smart city street lights, better air quality. But how is a smart citiy to be implemented? What happens to the data collected in the smart city? These and other questions about smart city projects will be answered in the new episode of SHIFT about smart cities. What do you think of smart cities? Write it down in our comments...

The answer is pretty simple: starts as a brave new world and it ends as a very bad nightmare. On the most surface level, tech is making humans more incapable of doing simple tasks, ultimately bringing the human value to an all time low. Enter singularity...

As it happens with every single tech.
Internet and stuff like CZcams are amazing teaching tools and let's us access a vast pool of knowledge, but now sites collect and sell our data to advertisers.
Twitter blue checkmarks started as a way to easily tell if you're reading an official tweet made by a person, but quick turned into a mark or royalty and a way to separate casts and bully political opponents.
It always comes down to human greed of thirst for power sadly, if it wasn't for things like that, we could have so many amazing advanced tech helping us live even better, but now we're stuck halfway because new tech always ends up being manipulated by evil people.

Yes. "Control cities" is what I would call them. You have to be freedom adverse to want to live under constant monitoring. I wonder how many realize with this tech they can control everything in your home and car? Tech makes it really easy to take out your enemies -- and anyone might say one thing wrong and end up a target.

From what I've noticed, the general population seems incapable of doing that. Example? Scientists have been warning us for decades about the rapid decline of Earth's environment, and that future generations will not have a home worth living in. The only time when humans made significant progress towards the healing of our environment, was when the world was put under lock down and we were given no option but to do nothing for an entire year, limiting social interactions, excursions, etc.. THAT is the extreme that the human race needs to be pushed to in order to make progress. It's sad, and I wish this was not the case. But humans are terrible self-governors. Not saying AI won't be dangerous, but at least our planet and its inhabitants can safely live to see a good future. I definitely need to do a lot more research before I make this my final opinion, but it's just the observation I made when trying to analyze how we work. We need governing, and we need surveillance. Do nothing wrong and you have nothing to hide. 🤷‍♀️

Technology such as shown here has the potential of doing what it says and much more. However it comes at a cost: Privacy. With a government such as we have in Washington DC and in my home city of Long Beach California, I'd be pretty scared about this. Particularly now that facial recognition software is so prevalent - at least in areas of high security such as airports - I worry that under the right (or wrong) government, we can end up like in China. Thank you but let's fix the government so that it's of the people, by the people and for the people first. Then let's do the rest.

Believe me, they will find a way to do whatever they want! Look at history, it started with the tower of Babbel. God had to seperate them and confuse their language to get them to stop. Man is a spiritual being and if satan as a spiritual being is yielded to, he will come into them and use them for His purposes! But I know who wins! I read the end of the book. Satan wont stop trying to corrupt mankind, he knows he cant win for he is the creation, he cannot get victory over his creator but he can cause others to lose out with him! That is his goal! Its sad, many are falling into his master plan.

Vertical farming skyscrapers and sky bridges.
Urban terracing farming oriented lifestyle atmosphere:
    1. You have a patch of farming land on one terrace while you dine open air style below.
    2. Floors of terraces where you can sense the farming atmosphere in the urban areas.
    3. You'll be walking on beautiful sky bridges while on the left and on the right there are pots of small vertical trees.
    4. You'd have well dressed sky bridge food hawkers and sky bridge music groups playing music on sky bridges.
    5. You'll be riding on posh interior design public transportation.
    6. Market Segmentation based community transportation modes (economy class, business class, others).
    7. Public transportation facilities are so posh that you have Frankfurt style lounges on public bus stops on streets below, on trams below.... etc. You feel like being inside the Frankfurt International Airport.
