    Excellent vid!! Great points between the two listening sources. I mainly use monitors but I will do some light mixing at night if I need to.

    Great insights. In the end it's our ears that have to decide.
    Reference tracks are also a great idea for comparisons. I play prog metal so I'll compare my mixes with pro masters of bands like Symphony X or Dream Theater. 😊

    Great video. Talking about monitors. I was wondering if you're still happy with your Kali Audio monitors now when you have had them for awhile. Have you found anything you don't like about them? Still havn't clicked the buy button yet, but I'm tempted. So any info from people that have used them for awhile is very useful.

    The room will colour the sound way more than headphones will, so if you don't have your listening position in the ideal place in a decent sized room and the monitors in the correct place for imaging, and no broadband treatment then I'd say headphones are a better option. Great monitors in the wrong position or untreated room are a waste of money. I have some Adam P22A's, Adam P11A's and Event 20/20 BAS monitors all sat in boxes on shelves because I don't have a room where I can get use out of them. Sad I know,

      I use ATH-R70X headphones and they are great for mixing.

    Great vid - thanks! One thing... at 2:28 you've written Behringer instead of Beyerdynamic 😉

    What are your thoughts of using Sonarworks to remove the color in headphones or help flatten rooms with monitors for a flat response?

  • @EnejJohhem
    @EnejJohhem Před 2 lety +2

    Headphones or Monitors, I would say it completely depends on one's budget.

    • @louaguado995
      @louaguado995 Před 2 lety +1

      Cheaper monitors usually have smaller woofers with less bass response. That's where things get tricky because you'll boost your low end on them, your songs will sound good on them but boomy on headphones or in vehicle sound systems. It's a balancing game that takes time to master

    Are the not Beyer DT990's not Behringer?

    • @orenfisher8948
      @orenfisher8948 Před 2 lety

      Beyerdynamic is one of the few headphone manufacturers that still make their phones in the original country - Germany - unless things have changed in the last few weeks. AKG is now owned by Samsung and makes their products in the far east. Many of Sennheiser's headphones are now outsourced to Romania.
      My Ollo Audio headphones are made by hand - of walnut and stainless steel - in Slovenia.
