      Oh please. Im not even a packers fan, but let me fill you in. Im not even gonna mention super bowls either. Since 1980, the vikings have won the division a total of 10 times. The packers have won the north 12 times since 2000, with 8 of those coming in the last decade. Vikings have only won 5 since 2000 and 3 since 2010. Curious to see how you figure the packers haven't been running the north because it seems pretty clear to me.

When they were confronted with a 3rd and long, they let him throw, and his completion percenatage for TD or 1st downs was 72%, just about 20% or even 30% better than any QB taken before him. I don't know how anybody could look at his stats and his highlight film and conclude he wasn't even "good". In particular, the number of attempts and season yardage stats tell you nothing about his ability.
      Why are you so gung-ho about the passing game? If a team can score enough by running the ball and put games away midway through the 3rd quarter, all that more passing does for that team is create more passes falling incomplete for no gain, balls batted up in the air at the line of scrimmage for interceptions, balls deflected by LBs dropping into coverage resulting in interceptions, balls bouncing off the hands, chest, or helmet of receivers, resulting in interceptions, lots of holding penalties killing drives, and QBs banging their hands on helmets and breaking fingers, or, worse yet, getting a knee blown out or several ribs cracked or broken. The less a team has to pass the ball to gain yardage, the better, but very few teams manage to move the chains via nothing but a run game, so some passing is necessary now and then.

    I’m a Michigan fan. Forget what everyone else is saying, including other Michigan fans. JJ basically boils down to this: ELITE at almost everything physically (and where he’s not elite, he’s very good), but lacks in making reads and qb vision, at least as far as the upper tier college qbs go. I believe the latter is far more important for NFL success, but the good news is it can sometimes be taught. The question will be how much JJ lacks in those areas. Is he just naturally mentally slower, or has he not been taught those things in a way that works for him?

    • @puppethound
      @puppethound Před měsícem

      Also he was usually on a team that was athletically better than most of their opponents not named, Ohio State or Penn State, so stats for QB tend to be over blown, hence why none of that matters. Time will tell, but at least he's a winner. If he fails, KOC is gone in 3 years. Also if JJ can't succeed with this team, he can't win anywhere in the NFL. I mean where can you go where dinner I already made and the table is already set, all you have to do is eat.

Saying someone has all the intangibles just means they actually are not that good at anything but have had success via W’s for one reason or another. In JJ’s case the “intangibles” were being with the best defense, OL, coaching staff and running game in football. KOC was the one that got him away from checking the ball down every time he dropped back. That was when he wasn’t taking sack after sack after sack. Everyone only looks at the first 6 games this past season but seem to forget the first 4 seasons in Minnesota where he did absolutely nothing and brought us absolutely no where. The cousins curse is a real thing. And now Atlanta has it on them. It already started in the draft when they took Penix 😂 and at that very moment Cousins realized his contract was only for 2 years. With the level of talent, quality of coaching, etc around him, why would he need to be anything more than an efficient game manager who takes care of the ball?

      @@chuckyjamesamartin1968 Well, apparently they still win National Championships. Caleb Williams & USC didn't win the Chip. Jayden Daniels & LSU didn't win the Chip. Drake Maye & North Carolina didn't win the Chip. And Penix Jr & Washington lost the Chip to the game manager & Michigan.
      This is all assuming that he's nothing more than a game manager, as well, which is still just an assumption at this point, seeing as how he was just drafted into the league two days ago & hasn't even seen a single snap within the context of an NFL practice, much less an NFL game. Jury's still out, at this point. Could be the game manager you think he'll be, or he could exceed expectations. The simple fact of the matter is that nobody will know for certain until we have a decent sample size of his play in the NFL. Before we have that, it's nothing more than pure speculation.
