I Just got the gp68hx 12VH 4080 laptop this morning. btw the 12900H is wrong info, apparently no such combination exists. no spec sheets from MSI too. The CPU this laptop comes with is the 12900HX.
It has a serious issue though, the moment my GPU hits 70c, the fans just ramp up to 100% and blast at 6000RPM. Updating to the latest bios didnt help. People on MSI's forums have been complaining for months about this with no resolution in sight. As of now, i cannot play any game without frying my ears.
Hopefully they fix this soon :(

You know, I suspected as much as it had HX in its part number. That sucks about the fan. They used a shared heat pipe design this time around I believe. So the GPU temperature will be largely affected by the CPU temperature. You should be able to lower the power on the cpu which will help. Perhaps also go into the voltage curve editor on MSI afterburner and lower the voltage.

I faced the same issue. They fixed it on the BIOS update released on 27th October, 2023. You just need to update the BIOS. Tried playing The Last Of Us on Max settings (No DLSS/DLAA) @ 1200p and got stable 80-90 fps on Silent Mode. The fan noise was very little and maxed out at 3000 RPM. The temps reached at max 75°C on the GPU and 70°C on the CPU. Normally the temps hovered around 68-73°C. The GPU Wattage decreased to around 105-115W but the performance was very stable.
I was using the MSHybrid Graphics mode, so there was probably a slight performance loss due to Intel Optimus.

Thoughts on the Blade 15's Oled with 3070ti that's like $1800? (normally 3300). only comes with 16gb ram, but thinking upgrading my 2070 blade.

What do you think about the Corsair CN-9000003-NA on newegg for $999.99? RX 6800M 12GB, 6800HS 16GB, 1TB QHD+ 240 Hz Seems pretty good to me but maybe not competitive even with its extra vram over a 4060/4070
