    In the Japanese version (maybe some European versions as well) the R35 is electronically limited to a top speed of around 150. I think that played a major factor in allowing an increase of HP. Of course its all monitored by satellite and once you get to designated racetracks in japan its automatically turned off.

    Tire wear is huge
    The Porsche would be losing corner speed sure to that alone
    The funny thing about their statements regarding AWD being necessary in cars with this much power is that none of the cars in this test could even touch the 2wd cars that came along later like the 458 and GT3, let alone the ZR1 and Viper ACR. An AWD car didn't beat those last two around the Ring until just a few months ago when the Nismo GTR Track Pack threw down a 7:08 and the Porsche 918 Ring Edition ran under 7 minutes, but both those times are likely to be matched or eclipsed by 2wd cars by the end of this year (the GTR by the C7 Z06 and the 918 by the P1)

      @buckorooster Před 4 lety

      It's common practice by racers, you check if the brakes are working properly well before a heavy braking zone, that way if they aren't you can slow down in time. You'd be surprised at how many racers get in (even fatal) crashes because of this exact situation. Shingo Tachi's crash is a devastating but relevant example of this.

      @@samritnathinsim You're comparing a stock car against a 600hp track car. -_- Tracks like the long Fuji Speedway or Suzuka, Mine's R34 stands no chance. It's a car focused on engine response and handling for technical tracks like Tsukuba. MCR would have a better chance but even that car's top speed is no where close to a 996 GT2. Don't get me wrong, I love GT-Rs but even the Z-Tune stands no chance against the GT2. Skyline GT-Rs have shit aerodynamics which is why the stock ones with 330hp only reach 155mph. Even the NSX-R with just 294hp is faster, clocking 168mph thanks to aerodynamics. Porsches are definitely designed for speed. Z-Tune might claim a slightly faster top speed but the Porsche will definitely reach its top end first.
