    I find the stock horns on bikes aren't loud enough and replaced mine with extra loud ones for touring and have helped enormously. The bike look right for the job.

    Nice video, thumbs up!
    I do own the same bike, 2017 model, and I would recommend some other mods:
    First of all, take off this annoying belt across the seat! It is absolutely useless but makes the seat very uncomfortable.
    Second, the CRF needs some frame protectors which are available in China for very little money!
    Third, I prefer the Moose Racing skidplate which protects frame and water pump as well. It is sturdy and light as well.
    Other mods I've made are a SW Motech luggage rack which works as a grip as well, foldable levers and mirrors and a RFX gear lever that protects the generator cover from being destroyed by the massive OEM part.

    @gligachaz5047 Před 4 lety

    A good mod for anyone who has a CRF250L is to remove the strap across the seat. I found it makes the seat more comfortable as it's right in the position where you sit. Apparently it's only there to give a pillion somewhere to hold on to as it's necessary by law if you have rear foot pegs.

    Great work Harvey and great work on the bike - the trusty CRF is quickly becoming the long distance adventure riders steed of choice! Out of interest are you still running the stock tyres? I've found them to be utterly rubbish off-road and a set of aftermarket tyres (I use Michelin T63s) has transformed my machine....might be something to consider before you hit the tricky off-road stuff that awaits....keep the videos coming! All the best....TMF

    • @TwoWheelReview
      @TwoWheelReview  Před 6 lety

      Thank you TMF!
      The CRF certainly is, I'm currently running the stock Bridgestone TW302 tyres which are on their way out after nearly 4k miles.
      The t63 seems like a great suggestion for offroad riding, the dilemma comes with trying to find a good tyre on and off road and still maintain a good mileage, I'm looking into a set of Michelin Sirac's or Continental TKC70 as most of the offroad riding will be hard pack trail, videos to come :)

    • @TheMissendenFlyer
      @TheMissendenFlyer Před 6 lety +1

      I'm sure the Michelins or Conti's will be fine - I can say the T63's have been great on-road too, far out lasted the OEM tyres and I mainly ride on the road on mine....enjoy!

    @serhiibylynka7856 Před 5 lety

    Great job! Did you use stock clutch? How did it behave? I read that clutch is weak part of this bike. I'm going to an adventure on such bike and don't know what to do with the clutch.. install havy duty clutch or leave stock..

  • @phuketbungalowinfo2757

    CHAIN OILER ... take care your chain mate, thats one of the parts the CRF needs a lot, having 50k km and my 3rd set already and i am not doing much offroad.
    If not a chain oiler every day a couple of drops oil should do it too

  • @EvisceratedPineCone

    Is the fuel level indicator still accurate? I'm assuming it would be off by a little bit because of the different shape of the tank.

    • @patrickmaloney6440
      @patrickmaloney6440 Před 4 lety

      There isn't one, this is why the tank is transparent. You can see the fuel level. 👍

    • @EvisceratedPineCone
      @EvisceratedPineCone Před 4 lety +1

      @@patrickmaloney6440 FWIW, I have this bike and was too impatient to wait for a reply. I bought this tank in black, the stock fuel level float fits into this new tank. The gauge reads full until the actual level is around 60%, then the gauge works like normal and seems pretty accurate as far as empty is concerned.

    *Hey everybody, question???*... I as well have a crf250l 2016, I was wondering how a bike of this size (1 cyclinder 4 stroke liquid cooled engine) can take on a 500mile trip non stop (except for gas)?. Is it possible, or would that damage the bike? Thabks in advance... ps I'm a noob in when it comes to motorcycles, I just know how to ride.
