Its impressive how he not only got sponsored by the shower industry, but by nutrition itself too!!
im like number 180!
And here I was thinking he was solely in the pocket of Big Kebab
I’m like number 366!
Despite having never washed his hair
he gets dollar when every one of us shower?
Fun fact: That 8 billion is roughly 6% of all humans that have ever lived.
WW3 will fix that
I thought it was more than that
@@austinhernandez2716 roughly 117 billion, depends where you draw the line for modern humans tbh.
Cool
Some early caveman becoming fossil fuel and extracted to create power which is now letting me type this comment:
I swear Toycat jumps in a pool right before he records every time
yeah mans dying in front of us and quickly saying his last words or smth
The "8 billionth person" is really a misnomer and it's definitely being made a bigger deal than it actually is. They're not the 8 billionth person ever, they're just the newest person at the moment where there happens to be exactly (8 billion - 1) other people alive. Given that 4 people are born every second and 2 people die every second, it's next to impossible to identify the 8 billionth person and there's even a chance there will be more than one.
technically the 8 billionth person is long dead because there have been ~117-118 billion people to ever live, so i guess you could settle for the 118 billionth person
@@TheChasedanger technically yes but practically no.
8billionth in term of alive now.
shut up
Wow way to be a boring nerd
Dude, you cannot tally the exact world population to the exact person; that makes no sense. These counts could be off by 400 million people and that is just assuming 5% error, which these counts could be as high as 10%; no one knows; you think africa keeps good census data?
The US doesn't even do a census until every 10 years
And the 'birth/death' rate are also totally guessed and not known, so it is even worse. I am just amazed you thought you would actually get close to knowing the exact 8 billionth alive person
The way they do 'world population' is by making sweeping assumptions and generalizations, then coming up with a number, then telling people the number is accurate because they have 'authority.' Total sham
7:21 "We vaguely live in sort-of societies".
Ah yes, I remember that quote from my favourite comic-book villain, the Vaguely Sort-Of Joker.
Joker but low confidence: “You may have the potential to get what you supposedly f*cking deserve.”
@@H8nji He's the sort of man who wants to watch the world get quite hot but not so hot that it's actually on fire.
It's kinda about sending a message but not really
I love how you could see exactly when the black plague happened when you were sliding through population over time
WWII/Ukraine famine shows up pretty clearly on the graph at 4:00. Not sure about the dip in the 1950s, maybe Mao's great leap forward?
Certainly lack of wars and disease control play a big part in the growth, but the biggest factor is probably nutrition. Without Fritz Haber's process, we couldn't support our current population.
@@onehorsetoomany8006 yeah 1950s will be china, and maybe a couple soviet famines
no one knows what hte population levels were; the data is just assumed, because it doesn't exist. us doesn't even take census until every 10 years. The current number could be off by over 400 million people
I was alive when we reached 5 billion in '87. my friend went to same class with the guy who was proclaimed the 5 billionth person. bloody hell....
ahahahahahaha!!! just reached the part of the 5 billion guy :D :D :D
Don't worry you ain't that old
I was alive before there was three billion
Granted I was a couple months old
WAS THAT THE BIRTH OF 87?
@@lhozo9007 I’m embarrassed to be a veteran of fnaf
I vaguely remember some news about the 5 billionth human. The mystery was where it was announced. You would assume it was somewhere in Africa or Asia, but for some reason the UN chose a child born in Yugoslavia!
Zimbabwe and Namibia don't actually border each other, Zambia and Botswana cut them apart by about 200 metres, truly a tragedy
The fingers don't quite touch in Michelangelo's painting either, so the comparison still holds.
The quadpoint was reduced to a tripoint through negotiations between the 4 countries to avoid border disputes
ibx really be looking like a rendered 3d model today
With no tesselation, no ambient occlusion, bad lighting, and no ray tracing.
Its really scary. More people means more problems
so if I am understanding correctly
1. Take as many showers as possible
2. Consume all the medicine I have
3. Eat food
Most of the growth in the future is not going to be from India. Fertility rate is already at replacement levels and still going down. The population is 1.4 billion currently and is estimated to peak at 1.6 billion before starting to decline.
Yeah but - still likely to overtake China's population. Let's hope you are right though - maybe help Nigeria out?

It's quality of human life in exchange for quality of earth life.
Hit 8 billion just just in time for WW3
And when I hit one person im "bad" and its "jail for you"
i watched it live 30 births before it happened, during class, and i cheered in the middle of class.

My cynical Bavarian Upbringing made me think "Mein Gott, we need more Wars!" first of all, then my Common Sense & Emotional (very un-german) Thoughts set in leading to me being confused as to if i should be worried of a large World Population or not.
As is Bavarian Tradition, i shall drink 2 "Hacker Pschorr" Brand Beers tonight and then afterwards think about these good/bad news again
Prost & Cheers from the Berchtesgadener Land in the Bavarian Alps
Well, I suppose you can just go around killing 90% of the Bavarian population so we as Austrians can finally accept you as being our 10th federal state without loosing our political balance.
Suites my family in Bavaria this summer and it was awesome, plan on going back soon
@@quuaaarrrk8056
Genuinely made me choke on my Beer. It's funny and interesting how both we Bavarians and Austrians think the same about another.
We Bavarians believe Austria and Austrians ARE in fact Bavarian and should be Bavarian Territory, while Austrians thin the same the other way around.
Don't worry, maybe the next "Anschluss" will indeed come from Austria and i will end up calling myself Austrian

Glad to hear you enjoyed your Time!
I work as Historian for the IFZ in Munich and in my freetime i often help Foreigners with German Roots and Family Name (sometimes anglicized) to find their Roots, especially if Bavarian.
So in the past 10 Years i have often met especially US Families with anglicized German Family Names who originated in Bavaria and helped them visit their Village/Area of Origin etc. all for free of course.
It's just a great Feeling to help People find out about their Roots here in Old Europe

We aren't even close to the limit.

13:00 I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Namibia and Zimbabwe are about 500 feet from touching each other. A real tragedy considering it could've been the world's only country quad-point.
Yes like im Southern African and you can litteraly drive from South Africa to Zimbabwe and Nambibia lmao
I wonder if we can figure out or track who the 8 billionth baby was
Probably never will because its made by interpolations
the short answer is no. These numbers aren't exact and are estimates based on data provide from previous years as well as growth trends. There is a good chance that we don't even have 8 billion people yet, or that we actually hit it a few days ago, but the best guess is that it was today. Since so many people go undocumented at birth, finding the 8 billionth baby would be impossible
The 8 billion (or what is one of the most popular suggestions) is Vinice Mabansag born at 1:29AM on Tuesday November 15th, 2022, in the Philippines
Probably someone else since we don't know exactly how many people there are, but we have a rough idea of the population
Ive seen on multiple discord servers ppl saying it was a fillipino but idk if its a meme or not
It was born in Vatican.
I always laugh at those distorted maps 😂
As a New Zealander, I think your idea is perfect
Vinice Mabansag
On Tuesday, as the global population touched 8 billion, a girl born in Manila is being considered as the symbolic eight billionth person in the world. Vinice Mabansag was born at Dr Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital at 1.29 am (local time) and ever since, photos of the baby have gone viral.
Best year to be alive was 2019.
What an amazing milestone and time to be alive
As an Aussie alot of immigration is from those highly populated countries but no one want to live in the outback lol that's why we live on the coast
I might get one of those nutritions you’re talking about
3:17 apparently my mom was born when there were 4 billion people
Big take away from this (pun intended) is that we'll probably all have to work until we're 80+ and get naff all from our pensions if the population plateau's around 10 billion. With the ever age disparity in parts of the world, evermore increasing.
I thought more people in world -> more relaxed each person should be able to work? and that old resource thing, food, energy is fast crumbling to as excuse why some need to be unemployed and poor and some rich also in western country
@@effexon Well that's true but those people will eventually become a burden on society (basically they will get old) and will almost definitely have less children that their parents, old people need basically all the things a worker needs and more (as in more visits to the doctor).
So those children will have to work extra hard/for longer hours to make up for the fact that there aren't enough workers to go around because those people who retired still need food, electricity, healthcare etc...
Both japan and western europe have this problem and it will affect every nation sooner or later.
Very Interesting educational and entertaining video!
off topic: In the year 1 most people were farming not hunting even in the western hemisphere. Maybe like a few spots in the entirety of the world were still hunting (most likely africa or parts of south america and i do mean parts since they were farming in south america at this time)
i hope there are more than 8 billion big salmons
"Send them to Australia" most British thing I've ever heard
Send them to Syberia and South Pole.
Interesting report ! Thank you very much 😊 go ahead
great idea at the end there toycat!
thanks for the code Toycat!!!! that 10% off nutritional kebab was DELICIOUS 🤤
11:33 If you want to get a ball park of the highest possible population density based on country population densities, you have to look for ones that are agriculturally self-sufficient, or at least balance farmed food imports with farmed food exports. In general, cities, including city-states like Monaco and Singapore, can only exist because they import food, not to mention other products like wood, oil, and metals, from less densely populated regions.
Just in time for one of the first major resource wars too
That may cause some concern
The day of 8 billion really was almost the day of 0 as well
are you talking about what happened in Przewodów

@@MorrocanDarijaArab im gonna argue no, Yes it was a attack on NATO, but 2 people in a small village isnt a justification to start WW3. I guess a missile for Lviv did misfire into poland though. Though this is shady
What would he even say about it lol? "Yeah 2 people died, that's awful"
Article 5 now!
I watched this happen live on the school bus lol
We are already at 8 billion, that’s crazy.
yet in korea we're complaining about low birth rate. we are half the size of california but has 1/6 population of the whole united states. we need two thanos to balance things out over here
The problem is that this growth is not only based on technologic and scientific progress. Our advanced globalized economy supports it all.
This isn't a given though. World trade can always encounter problems because of disasters, wars etc. At some point the system might partially collapse. Will we be able to feed all those pople then? Won't we see mass hunger?

I was born just 2 years before we had 3 billion people. So there has been more than 5 billion people born after me. I remember when the population of Earth reached 3.5 Billion in 1970 and 4 billion by 1974 or 75 an extra 500 million added to Earth's just 4-5 years from 1970. Earth's pop hit the 5 billion mark by 1987 and 6 billion in 1999. Our pop reached 7 billion in 2011 and now in 2022 8 billion people living on Earth. Think about it more than 5 billion people have been born in 60+ years since I entered world a truly staggering number people who've been added to the world in only the 60 odd years of my life. 👥 🌏🌍🌎

I don’t want over population soo I now know what to do thanks toycat
So here is the thing, India CAN actually feed its population. Look it up really, India has the ability to produce more than enough food to sustain its population. I feel like its just typical media basically showing pictures of traffic jams in two-lane roads and then complaining about overpopulation. The truth is, people flock from the countryside to the cities, while the countryside, and even fairly large towns and small cities are getting emptier and emptier. Even in supposedly "overpopulated" places like India, the truth is that people just keep flocking to cities that quite frankly weren't ever designed to house so many people. We need better designed cities and better building codes.
That thumbnail tho💀-

Crazy how we hit 8 Billion, on the same day too as Halo’s 21st Birthday
👀
we had a lot of children when we worked on farms and stuff since children are free labor. (don't take that out of context) Would you hire someone and pay them money, or would you have sex and wait a few months? now that we live in cramped urban areas, it's more expensive to have children than to hire someone to work for you. This causes low birth rates, especially in urban areas.
I remember the day the 5 billionth baby was born and it was from Yugoslavia in 80's.
hopefully new update drops now
Birth rate is below replacement in the West and in the East. This is because the birth rate is so low in the West and in the East. In the West, you also have explosions in the amount of stress, homelessness and obesity. In both the West and the East you have explosions in the rates of suicide, especially in young men and teenagers. Considering the current economic crisis, there's probably gonna be increases in alcoholism and drug abuse, as well. In the third world, on the other hand, birth rates are extremely high and newly improved medicine and more food and clean water means that the life expectancy is going up. This is thanks to the massive cities that are going up in sub-Saharan African nations, that's allowing the infrastructure needed for all of this medicine, food and clean water. Some sub-Saharan African nations even have middle classes now. These cities still have massive, sprawling slums, but a sizeable proportion are now in actually liveable conditions. Plus, all of the Western aid going to these areas of the world (which is probably drying up if we're in the middle of a recession and we're already sending military and regular aid to Ukraine). So, the reason why we went from 7 billion to 8 billion is mostly because of population growth in poorer regions of the world, rather than because of the first world. Will population growth slow down due to the current economic crisis, if it causes first world nations to be less willing to give aid to third world ones, which is where all of the population growth is happening, and the deaths from the war in Ukraine and Russia from the conflict itself and from famines in the third world due to disruption in supply of food from Ukraine because of the war, probably civil wars in third world nations over food shortages, killing yet more people? Will the population size outright shrink? Will the recession and the war in Ukraine prevent us from reaching 9 billion for an extremely long time to come? I wonder...
China's birth rate's below replacement. It doesn't have much immigration into their country. So the population will most likely actually shrink by the year 2055. India's birth rate, on the other hand, is very high...
Check out the birth rate of india again 😐
