I think Rhaenys felt guilty because she didn't kill the king at the coronation, and of course, her husband cheated and has bastards running around, and she thinks both of her children are dead. She was just sick and tired of the bs. She wanted to die fighting with her dragon.

To be honest if Rhaenyra would have listened to Daemon from the beginning she would have been on the throne weeks ago. Daemon even asked Rhaenys (Corlys' wife) to come with him to kill Vaegar(Aemond's dragons). But she didnt go because Rhaenyra didnt order it. And just think Daemon is a better strategist than Aemond but nobody wants to listen to him. Imagine if they did. Smh
