Great video! Only thing I would add is to start the car and cycle all the gears for about 30 seconds in each gear. That way you are mixing all the new fluid into all parts of the trans before setting the level.
Good video but you didn't show how to change all fluid. Should be 9 litres. How to drain from torque converter? On your video 4litres of dirty fluid still left in the transmission
I think I had to see it to fully understand how the standpipe thing actually works. This is awesome, great video!
Nice but you should clean the pan before reinstalling. There should have bewn magnets in pan that attract any metal particles. That should also be cleaned.
When you drain there was a lot of fluid came out before you tip the pipe with screwdriver. That was the actual amount of fluid. And when you fill up you let it drianed the fluid that were above the pipe. That means the amount you filled up is less than the exact level. If you drian the new fluid and compare to the old fluid the new fluid is a lot lesser than the old fluid.
I found a video of a teacher, he's on a wheel chair. He said there was an engineer who cunduct a seminar meeting in California. Saying that the transmission fluid has the cooling like radiator going to the front of the engine. So, the proceedure after filling up you run the engine untill it reach the certain temperature and drian the excess. The line going to front has a valve that close and open when the oil gets hot. Reaching the temperature the valve will open and you draining the oil in the line. You end up that less oil you fill up.
Why didn't you drain the torque converter. Turn the crank and look into the hole where the filter goes. Rotate crank to see if the converter has a bolt. Some do some don't. Recommend to drain it or all you found just gets contaminated.
Man i wish i had a lift… for me oem benz parts from dealer were $330 out the door… i ended up taking it to a trusted shop that uses oem fluid and parts for $550 ($200 i could of saved with a lift)
You did excellent job. You did not have to apologize for anything.
That trans was over filled with blue fluid. Wow. You did a nice job filling it up.
I love the explanations and deeper insight into the maintenance. Another great video to be saved for reference when I go to do this. Thanks for all the hardwork!
Thanks for the detailed instructions. The explanation on the board prior to the actual work was helpful. Your instructions were short, simple and on point. 👍🏽
This is a seriously nice video on the fluid replacement. Thank you!
You my friend are a great instructor. Well done and much appreciated.
I like the extra details you go into, especially about the overflow plug and adapter.
Well done. Too messy for me to do and I don’t have a rack. However, I’m now educated on the service. Great video.
Thanks
I always end up on your videos somehow, so I went ahead and subscribed. I'm going to be doing this to my car soon. Thanks for the videos and the way that you present your information.
Good job! Keep up the good work. Very informative.
Instructions made this job easy I was terrified to do mine thank you!
