    Thanks Richard I need a visual. That water going down the sink with the stopper was beautiful. When I was first getting into cars years ago, I asked my dad how does the carburetor work? He said go look at the toilet when you figure out how the toilet works. You know how a carburetor works. Never forgot.

    Glad you pointed out the pressure rating difference big point. I always wondered though about spray pattern. Back in the day when I made an m90 kit for my 4.0 mustang I used injectors off of a 03 Cobra Terminator which were rated at 39 lbs but they were meant for a four valve head two intake ports and my 4. slow was a two valve head one intake port. I didn't tune it I took it to someone so I don't know how the tuning worked out it still drove good even at idle but I always wondered if that spray pattern was getting more fuel hitting the walls and causing issues like that so there wasn't as good atomization and if that affects power and if so is it even big enough to matter and I know with like decapping I've heard that there are drivability issues where its idol is a little harder to get although it seems like that might be because of differing flow rates for injector rather than spray pattern I don't know maybe bothI just wondering if you ever tested this if you know

    Hi Richard great video! Looking at your matrix I want to check my math. I notice on the matrix for boosted (turbo) e85, your showing 95 lbs injectors supports up to 969 hp and a 80 lbs injectors supports up to 816 hp. The difference is 153 extra hp for the 95 lbs injectors. So for my 100 lbs injectors Im guessing they will support about 50 extra hp on top of that 969 hp on boosted e85. Basically I divide that 153 hp difference between the 95 lbs and 80 lbs injectors as shown. So 5lbs is about a third of that. Thus my exta 50 hp estimate for 100 lbs injectors on boosted e85 or about 969 + 50 is about 1019 hp for the 100 lbs injectors on turbo boosted e85. Also for fuel pressure your showing at 43 lbs for the 95 lbs injectors. I have twin good fuel pumps and a good high end boost referenced regulator that stays 58 to 60lbs on my 6.0 LS, older sloppy stage II cam, 799 heads, twin borg warner S366 T4 turbos. Should I estimate my injectors supporting a bit higher hp because of my higher fuel pressure at 58 to 60 lbs? Thanks for any advice or input here Richard!

    VIDEO IDEA: Take a N/A Engine. Dyno it. Then strap a turbo onto it, but on the cold side, run the piping through some restrictions and then let it blow out to atmosphere. Point is, the turbo will have resistance *as if* it was pumping into an engine, but we can see the actual parasitic loss of from the back pressure from the turbo. It may be a little tricky to get the cold side just right, maybe you would need some type of Pressure Relief Valve to maintain a fixed but adjustable cold-side pressure? Feel free to DM me if you want any suggestions on this!

    Seems to he fine putting around and at wot but cruise i can feel a p0300 and notice power kind of picking up and fading out. Wideband jumps lean for a fraction of a second.
    Ive checked about everything I possibly can. Could the 96lb on a 340lph pump be too much injector? It's on a vaccum regulator and i havent played with the pulse width any because I don't know enough to be messing with it. Im speed density tuned at the moment.

Put it at 500 HP but went lean on the dyno @5500rpm. The cam's power range was to 7200rpm. We changed to 32lb injectors and added inline faster fuel pump. Ended up 540hp. But freeway fuel economy went from 29mpg to 26 mpg with stock pump and injectors where 29 was 345HP and 26 was 465HP. At 540HP non stock pump and injectors freeway mpg went to like 10mpg. Almost lost 70 percent of fuel economy for about 25 percent more HP and a noticeable speed increase that was not even worth that though. Was it just throwing gas out the exhaust unburned?

    • @PetesGarageandperformance
      @PetesGarageandperformance Před 3 lety +1

      You are increasing the cylinder pressure and heat. This gets the air/fuel mixture closer to its flashpoint which can cause preignition or detonation. That is what breaks pistons and bends rods. Run it richer to cool off the mixture. This is where the “lean is mean” saying comes into play. It’ll make more power, but you’re living on the edge.

    I’m really confused about ev1/ev6 vs DENSO style injectors. They don’t even seem to use the same style seats? A company just told me they don’t sell ev6 anymore due to poor quality and they only run Bosch denso style high impedance injectors “and that’s what pretty much everyone else is running,” but unless I’m missing something it seems like a lot of people run ev1 low impedance and a lot are running ev6 and say it has better spray pattern. Does any of this even matter? Impedance does of course but not sure about style or spray pattern.

      @@richardholdener1727 s400 stock bottom end lq4 with sloppy stage 2 (for da chop lol) and a speed masters pce intake. Running Holley terminator x max. I’m thinking 850 hp is possible. Planning on using e85. Still piecing out the last little bits. Injectors are one of them. Holley only drives high impedance I believe.
