22,000 Rings of Power Comments DELETED - Tolkien Fans SILENCED Over Lord of the Rings Teaser Trailer

- Amazon Prime's Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Teaser trailer used to have over 82,600 comments. But over the last few days thousands of LOTR Rings of Power comments in support of Tolkien have been deleted and now only 60,000 remain.
These comments showed that the fan reaction to the LOTR teaser trailer had an impact, and one that had to be silenced before the Rings of Power released any more marketing.

I think that this is what desperate people do, they cannot handle people not towing the line. Their political commissars whispered in their ears, like the Wyrmtongues they are, that people would herald them as heroes for perverting the source material with a political spin. Now that this seems to be ill-received, the time has come to attack conflicting views. With this move, they really prove that their fan-fiction of Tolkien, is not inclusive - but is bigoted (look up the definition of bigotry).
Scamazon trying more tactics to change the tide, YT barely suffers because its practically expected from them, probably got a nice little cash prize while Amazon gets another black eye for foul play
We shall comment some more to replace the ones we lost. Our voices will be heard and so will Tokien's.

Well to be fair, it was epic TV up until about the 5th season. Basically when the showrunners ran out of source material to draw from.

Won't change the people who posted those 22,000 comments' minds, they still know Amazon did wrong, and it's only going to grow from there now that this video is out there.
At this point its purely a perception game. Attempt to make people think No everyone loved the trailer! The downvotes can't be seen and a cursory look at the comments wont show what was there. Most wont look deeper. The aim is to make people who don't like something, think they're alone. Many people will just go along with the perceived majority whatever they say.
It will do the exact opposite and make them despise this even more.
Those 22,000 comments we lost we will just get back again. Amazon is failing.
Well, as of right now the top 20+ comments are various versions of the Tolkien quote/paraphrase, so it's unclear what they accomplished.

This is hilarious. I just went back to the original trailer and now dozens and dozens of people are reposting the Tolkien quote! Good job Disparu for getting the word out!

You are doing amazing stuff sharing this with an audience who might've missed these things. People care, and corporations won't get away with these antics when they are messing with the stuff we love.
Credit goes to the commenters who mentioned it, and anyone who sends me info. It's impossible for anyone to keep track of everything, but combined someone will always notice and the word can get out there.
After what Amazon did to The Wheel Of Time they deserve all the backlash they are getting for trying to bite of more than they can chew with The Lord Of The Rings.
The Wheel of Time was a disaster and the issue is when you treat an IP like that, all those fans who gave you the benefit of the doubt wont in the future. Which makes marketing your next disaster tougher as now a load of people know what you're going to do in advance.
All of this could be solved by actually hiring talented people who respect the lore.

Yeah, I can't see how they could possibly still make a Profit of the Series, it would have to blow every Expectation out of the Water by this Point.
there were two ways amazon could have approached this.
as aule, creating with love, but being imperfect to the true creator. this would have been accepted by fans.
or as sauron, twisting and distorting that which has been created by love. this would have been seen as a dumpster fire by fans.
amazon chose to be as sauron.
Tbf I don't think Amazon had a clue , they just thought , they could treat LOTR like a brand , problem is LOTR has a large very serious LORE community , like PhD level folks

Star Wars, Marvel,DC, Star Trek have alot of normies who don't care much about lore, alot of LOTR fans do very much care of Lore.

They did with Wheel of Time too. What none of these companies seem to realise it, you're not just going after one set of fans. It's cumulative every franchise you ruin, the people will learn what happens and wont give you the benefit of the doubt next time. Eventually you run out of fans to take advantage of.
The best thing Amazon could do is just remake the show accurately. I feel they wouldn't lose so much money that way lol
They are kind of fucked though, if they recast the race swapped roles to be canonical then the left wing media would turn on them and condemn them as racists pandering to a minority of racist fans. Which would harm the wider amazon brand. Given everything that has happened genuine fans still wouldn't watch it because all confidence in amazon products has been lost. So they are in a lose lose situation, their only hope is if they can put enough spin and properganda on it to sell the lie that it will be successful. The best thing people can do is slam the comments and when it comes out the reviews on mass with negative comments.

Haha they didn't delete my comment. I posted the quote in Elvish and they didn't delete that thank goodness. I've noticed a lot more people who are spamming racist in the replies though. I scrolled through the replies when the trailer was first posted and there was maybe like 1 or 2 every 15 comments. Now there's at least 4 per 3 comments. A lot of people ask "why is it bad to have minorities? are you just racist?" and everyone responds giving a answer, and they just repeatedly ask again and again "are you racist???" I wonder why THOSE haven't been deleted yet..
I'd love to see the filter they applied to find out which ones got yeeted and which ones didn't. But yes, I doubt they have a google translate for Elvish they could have added to it lmao

It's not surprising you had never heard of me before the Quaterings shout out I had around 3.8k subs and it's tough, you don't get the likes/comments to really get pushed by the algo. That's why I appreciate every view, like, comment. It was only a few months ago struggle to get more than a handful.

Yeah it looks like most of the ones that got yeeted were the ones ordered by top, that were also the same as others. So you still have ones of each. Just magically the top orders changed. And ones in different languages to the most popular seem to be around too. I'd love to know what kind of filter they ran to work out which to vanish.

I find it funny we live in a world where South Park predicted this. One episode where PC principal gets butters to delete comments and only let the good ones get by like a full time job. Pathetic how some people can be
a bit off tbh, butters was forced to do it for celebs to give them a safe space (was censoring in social media at that time so it was relevant back then as well). in short this has been going on in the industry and on social media for years and is only getting worse

I had to head over to the trailer website to check things out, and I found hundreds (maybe thousands; I stopped counting after a few hundred) of posts of our favorite Tolkien quote in over twenty different languages. This thing is garnering hatred from all over the world! As you said, Bezos may not care if he loses $1B, but this is going to do major damage to the Amazon brand. That may give him a bit of indigestion.

Why did this stick out to me too? Browynn is a mother and a medical practitioner in an ancient agrarian society where everyone seems to be dressed like a Northern European peasant… except she seems to be in a razor back sports bra, a little cotton sundress and a headband. Is she also in Tevas? Because this costume is 20 year old sporty college student hanging out at the lake house circa 2010 in every respect. Why?
One of the most heartwarming and motivating things I've ever seen especially in these times was that quote in all those different languages and cultures and to see a whole World of people actually stand together as one voice, I have never actually seen that my entire life in real-time and it was real and it happened and it was so warm and safe and then they tore it all apart and divided the people again and the image of a world that truly can stand together... it was the message here that they shattered and the deepest truths of ALL truths, that's why they did this... they don't care what the other comments say or how negative they are they just can't have every nation in every language standing together united with the same beliefs and stance especially when that stance is against them... its the most dangerous thing in the world for them and another dream shattered for us as long as we allow anyone to disrupt when a world of people and nations all stand as one for a righteous cause
