    Thanks for the video! :) I had a couple of questions though
    If, when drawing the detailed representative cells I can't see much detail inside them, do i just leave them empty? Do i assume the position of the nucleus and draw it even if i can't really see it?I just get really confused with the amount of detail to be drawn. My book showed some really detailed drawings, as examples, but then again I never saw the slide as clear as the photomicrographs that were used for the drawings in the book.
    Also we've always been warned about crossing the lines or the space provided. I've even heard some teachers say not to cross under the marks, but I've noticed alot of the time, for the detailed drawings, we're given the whole page to draw, but the marks [5] for example are given to the side, like halfway. I know this is a silly question, but I can use the entire page for my drawing right? Not just stick to where the the marks are right?
    Is there an easy way to identify or differentiate between a phloem sieve tube element and a companion cell under the microscope? I've seen a paper where we were asked to draw some stuff, along with companion cells, so again, what kind of detail should i draw? will i draw for those what i'm seeing or what i know should be there?
    Please help me asap if you can, my exam is tomorrow. Thank you so much in advance.

    • @DBiologyClassroom
      @DBiologyClassroom  Před 7 lety +4

      1. If it's a microscope slide, the details are not so clear but you can somehow see them, draw it. If totally cant see dont assume they are there. If it is a photomicrograph on the exam paper, draw ONLY what you see, draw exactly what is on the paper.
      2. As you as your drawings are not touching the words printed on the paper it is okay.
      3. C.c are smaller than STE. And most of the time, you can see one or two perforated sieve plate on the slide, draw those so your drawing is more distinguishable.
      Good luck for your exam !

    Hey!!Great video
    Can you explain how to calculate the simplest whole no ratio?
    Mark scheme states the following
    Large whole no to smaller whole no, to the lowest common denominator

    • @DBiologyClassroom
      @DBiologyClassroom  Před 6 lety +2

      Divide the larger number with the smaller number. But if the number have decimals you need to convert them to whole number. for example A is 4.5, B is 3. Divide both by 3 and u get a ratio of 1.5 : 1. But 1.5 is not a whole no., so u can times both of them with 2, and u will get 3:2. This is the simplest whole no. ratio of A and B.

    • @netflixtvposts3230
      @netflixtvposts3230 Před 6 lety

      David de lecturer thank you
      But whats the lowest common denominator here
      Eg if we have 12 and 5
      What would be the simplest ratio
      Please do mention the lowesr common denominator

    • @netflixtvposts3230
      @netflixtvposts3230 Před 6 lety

      Ok, i think i got it
      lowest common denominator is 5 in this example
      So 12÷5=2.4 and 5÷5=1
      So ratio would be 2.4:1
      And multiplying it by 5 would give 12:5 which is the simplest ratio.
      If im wrong please do tell

      @@DBiologyClassroom are we allowed to get it focused by the invigilator in cie aslevel ? And sometimes when i move the focus knob it still wont focus in the exam what to do then , also do they reuse the same microscope slide or specimen in every exam so can we draw according to the plan diagrams we remember from the book of leaf,stem,root or onion cell etc. Any other general advice ? For question referring to quantitaive or qualitative are we always supposed to write biochemical tests like benedicts,biuret etc as the answer? And for simple dilutions do we not use 1/10 1/100 1/100 ratios like we do in serial, do we have to use mv=mv formula? Doing the ppr today 😣

      @@aena5995 1. No they cant help. 2. They rarely use the same slides for exam, so DO NOT memorise and draw. Just use your knowledge to help identifying structures. 3. Any test with numerical value is quantitative, with non-numerical value observations (eg. colour change) is qualitative, not only the biochemical test. 4. Both dilution can use M1V1=M2V2, it's just that serial dilution you can use ratio to do it without the calculation. That's why we don't need to use the formula.
