Be honest, Peter Fisher, chairman of the Opry, wanted to make Carrie an Opry member, even earlier. Right after her first album went platinum. He knew how good she is, and would draw people to the Opry.
You can tell how good of a performance by Carrie. Opry did a rare thing. They allowed Carrie's producer to use this video as her video for this song. Because Carrie said when her producer said this song was going to be release as a single. She asked when she should do the video of it. Carrie's producer said it is already done. She said when, Opry allowed her producer to use this performance for the video. Surprising Carrie in the process.
It is simple reason for that. At the end of this version, Randy invited Carrie to be a member of the Opry. Where as Carrie's VEVO version, they cut Randy's part out. That is Opry's property.
sarahbbyy there used to be an official and clear high Def video of this online and it looks like they took it down a couple years back....it's annoying they did that. Now I screen record every video I love because u never know when/if they'll take it down
As I said the other video has Randy Travis invited Carrie to be an Opry property. That is why isn't up. I know this, because I have a DVD, with videos of all no. 1, before "Storyteller" album.
Like I said it is Opry property and that version, was only up for short time, but it got 2 million views. Opry wasn't expecting that.
Actually this version is even shorter than the originally version. The complete version is 5 minutes longer. Because Randy invited Carrie while she was celebrating her birthday, which is March 10, as you know.

Little did Carrie known that Randy Travis was backstage. But that was on purpose. Right after this performance. Randy surprise her with an invitation to Grand Ole Opry member. This performance was 2008.
Tell you how good this performance is. Grand Ole Opry did a rare thing. They allowed Carrie's producer to use this as her video for this song.
Nope, Randy had no plans to join her on stage. She didn't know he was there. She performed it, because this song is on her album. Opry wanted Randy to invited her to become a member. When Randy came out. They shortened his stint with Carrie. Here, it is 2-minute version. He actually with Carrie for a full, 7-minute version.

You don't ever have to worry about lip syncing for Carrie, she sings beautifully on her own her voice carries to the wind and we can hear it all the way to the north and south east and west
At Opry, they don't allow lip syncing anyway. Opry is an old building. So it is tradition.
