I went to transperince as a child and loved it. Shame it didn’t stay open for long
Was going to say, I recognise a lot of this from cycling the Spen Valley Greenway, fabulous to see how the line used to look
Now the Spen Valley Greenway cycle route it is a very pleasant ride through the country. The head of the distant signal at 1:58 was recovered and re used. Not sure if it went to Halifax at the end of Beacon hill tunnel.
3:15 CYCLED THROUGH THAT TUNNEL ON THE GREENWAY THE ROUTE ENDS NEAR BRADFORD
Transperence was 10 years to early if it opened in the 2000s it would of been a success.
At least low moor got a new station
I thought it was actually going to show it ienjoyed it when I went
Daft as it sounds, I never actually got to see Transperience! I was only living a few miles away too. I kept putting a visit off then, wham! Too late, it shut!
Is there any truth in the rumour that this film is by Peter Hartingdon?
I just like to see my name up there!
Peter Peter the pumpkin eater
Looked rather bare at that time. I’ve always wondered what date the last train ran on the Spen Valley Line.
You should speak and narrate your videos. Tell us what’s what and where it is. Not everyone will know.
Think last train on was in June 79
Yes you are right. I should give more info. I have footage somewhere of two class 40s hauling engineers rake on the line. The last train I ever saw!
