  • The couple who owns a Penrose funeral home where at least 189 bodies were improperly stored were arrested in Oklahoma on numerous charges, including abuse of a corpse, theft, and money laundering, the Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office announced Tuesday morning.
    A court date for John and Carie Hallford in El Paso County will be set once they're extradited back to Colorado.

      But you don't even know what they are accused of exactly? Obviously they mistreated people's loved ones but in what way? Sexualy? Selling body parts? That will determine the degree of their depravity. If they were not cremation the bodys to save money and giveing family members wood ashes, that's different then selling body parts, or sexualy abusing bodys. These details matter alot. In fact they determine how hard of a sentence they get

    On a good note. An old lady rang our local FD asking him to sell her car when she died to pay her funeral cost and then keep the change. He did. He spent the 'change' on beautiful flowers which he regularly laid on her grave until it ran out.

    They should have inspectors that go to all funeral homes at least once a month , to make sure they are following the rules . Restaurants have health inspectors that regularly check for cleanliness and other safety precautions . They should be doing this at funeral homes.

    I live in Oklahoma and I pray Oklahoma will allow these people to be taken to Colorado to be charged. This is awful and needs to be taken to an end for the families of the people's bodies that were treated awful - and no other way!!! These folks would have to be monsters to do what is said. AWFUL> Demonic I say! This will make so many people wonder - have their family been treated like this. I would be so scared at this time to have my family member taken to a funeral home. They had to see these people's bodies not taken care of and their family thinking they were in their graves!!! Oh my gosh! I buried my two sons in 1999 - makes me want to have them removed from their graves to make sure they really are there! Well, I know the people who handled their funerals were good folks - but the families of these bodies thought the same thing of what happened to their family members. Sorry - to to go. God bless these families. I pray for their hurt to be removed and definitely an end to this horror that has come into their lives.

      If someone gives you food to eat & says it is good/yummy cake. You do not decide NOT to eat it because you believe it really is toxic garbage. .. Not if you are hungry for the TRUTH. INSTEAD, you would presume it is cake & carefully examine it's substance - testing appearance, type of ingredients & amounts, etc and then BECAUSE MAN IS HUNGRY FOR TRUTH, a judgement will be made... kinda' so we can have our cake & eat it too, lol, we starve ourselves of the pleasure of any goodness by 'presuming' it is bad & never eating. Sorry, just made that up. Silly power of positive thinking...

    Don't you love how they determine who is innocent until proven guilty for major felonies but if you get pulled over for a traffick violation they violate all of your constitutional rights. Does anyone else see the loopholes created for the 2 tier justice system? It's a great big club and you're not in it.

      @@rickwhite3181 It could be a genuine instructional aid for med students, or something much worse. About 10 years ago some outfit was touring the country with an exhibit of plasticized corpses posed as though they were engaged in everyday activities such as playing ball, cooking, etc. First the operators claimed it was anatomical instruction for ticket buyers, since all the bodies had been skinned and surgically opened, but they finally admitted it was their idea of "art."

      The 'Bodyworlds' exhibit. Google Dr Gunther Von Hagens and Plastination. Essentially they take donated bodies and treat them with chemicals to turn them into plastic. It could be the whole body, or it could be skinned showing the muscles and blood vessels or it could just be organs. The research was originally done to make real 'models' of the body and in particular show things like cancer and other diseases and their effect on the body, making teaching aids for medical students. Then it became 'art' touring museums all over the world and that's when it became really gross IMO. They got in trouble for using bodies donated by the Chinese government, as in political prisoners. @@rickwhite3181

    If a person is "presumed innocent until proven guilty," then how can the prosecutor arrest them? The truth is they are presumed guilty until proven otherwise. That is how it really works so, why sugar coat it?

    • @annraczok3163
      @annraczok3163 Před 9 měsíci

      The Prosecutor looks at the evidence before trial & determines person(s) are "suspect". They are charged with the crime & arrested under "suspicion" of guilt, not under "presumption" of guilt.
      They are "presumed" innocent as defendants and the prosecution must present the evidence in a court of law for trial to prove the defendant's guilt, not just 'suspect' it any longer. It is the prosecution's burden to prove the guilt by trial & presentation of the evidence...
      BUT with each bit of evidence the prosecution has to present as proof of guilt, the defendant has the RIGHT to show it's invalidity through their RIGHT to legal attorney representation & to a court trial by law..
      The SUSPECT'S presumption of innocence is maintained until the trial is completed & a final judgement is made after proving guilt... or not.
      IF guilt is NOT proven according to court/trial laws, the defendant is no longer suspected by law & is relieved of charges of the crime & is free to go... If they are neither found guilty NOR any longer held SUSPECT.
      A prosecution has a RIGHT to suspect etc to bring the charges, but no one can presume guilt until proven in court trial... & at that trial time, it can be very ambiguous, back & forth until ALL the evidence is presented & a final judgement is then made.
