Finally! There must be people who have tried to use the power drill on their hand grinder. I am still wishing Bosch would make such an adapter for hand grinders :) Their power drill is just awesome!
Honestly, for 1or 2 cups at a time, using hand grinder is no issue at all. It isn't as tough as shown in youtube videos. You certainly aren't going build musle with it.
Finally! , why it took so long to a company to make a thing like this? Now I'm waiting for a universal solution compatible with most of the available manual grinds on the market, I hope it doesn't take a few more years
All cheap grinders present this problem. Despite of costing 130$ let's not forget this is just a cheap grinder paired with a motor so you just get bad grind quality but faster.
@@KrauserKahn I knew cheap grinders wobble, but I had no idea the wobble was this bad. I was looking at this grinder and eventually went with the Timemore C2 (~$65) as it seemed like the best value for money. It's not much more than most terrible cheap ones, and I have been through 3 before getting one that doesn't suck. What's that Chinese proverb, 'Buy expensive, cry once.'
YOu are able to disassemble it to get inside the grinder. Be sure not to twist the plastic too much - but it does all come apart and go back together after removing a few screws 😀
Here in Indonesia there’s a portable Latina Sulawesi coffee grinder that runs on batteries. A CZcamsr clocked it at nearly 11 minutes to grind fine espresso. Any chance you clocked this delightful little Hario automatic in the espresso grind setting? Thank you
I didn't no - 11mins though!! wow - I wouldn't recommend grinding for a commercial or good home espresso machine on this -0 it juts won't do it - basically entry level machines and manual espresso are the fine grinding options
Hi, would you recommend this as a good hiking grinder if i want to keep the weight down on your back. The idea of an electric attachment sounds good but i would need a hand grinder that also works well as a manual grinder.
Yeah - there are better options - I would go with a great hand grinder - without the electric motor. You'll end up with a better product and tastier coffee 👌
Hi there -no the Skerton plus still has the Older - flat style attachment whereas the Pro has the updated HEX attachment that is similar on the Smart G motor
Can this electric motor be used with a Comandante C40 MK3? It comes with a round adaptor that seems to fit well, and they both use HEX, so it probably fits the Comandante shaft too.
For those looking for these answers, at the comments of the following video "czcams.com/video/sMaHt3xoX3o/video.html" the guy compared the use of the Motordante (designed specifically for the Comandante, he also has a video review of it) and the Hario Electro Solo / Smart G Automatic (reviewed on the link above) on a Comandante, with pros as cons.
You mentioned compatibility with the Skerton Pro, but I'm not seeing that advertised. Has is been tested? The hex bit is the same size, but does the whole unit fit? And is there anything to brace it against the round skerton pro?
You're right - it's not 100% compatible to the unit and the only thing that is compatible would be the connection between the two - beyond that you'd have to hold on and press down on the Smart G motor to ensure it doesn't slip off the shaft of the Skerton.
What was that number on top of the grind size? Was it how many rotation of the locking screw?
Great question! Yes 👌 the amount of clicks from the Zero point.

That would be cool!
i did.. and it took longer than i grind with "timemore chestnut c coffee grinder"
I used it, till the heat from the friction didn't melt the axle-housing :D
*newb researching coffee stuff*
Finds out this guy has a video on everything
😂 You're welcome

Grinding for 30g will probably take me a good 5-6 mins non stop
This is 2020. What you and I think is no issue at all doesn't seem to apply to a lot of spoiled people in rich counties, sadly.
@@JustinLee993 better hand grinders can chew through 30g in ~35 sec
@@JustinLee993 I have a 130 dollar 1zpresso grinder that grinds 25g at pourover size in about 30 seconds.
For someone with a shoulder injury, electric is very attractive.

In the meantime we'll have to keep using a drill haha.
I already have a hario skerton pro so I don’t need another hand grinder. It would be nice if the electric motor could sell separately.
You could try to macgyver it with a cheap power drill? :)
@@clutchmadness An electric screwdriver is probably better!
Hmmm.. I can see burr wobble during the grinding

Hey there! Just got the grinder! Question - what is the best way to clean the grinder?

What best value hiking grinder would you recommend
1Zpresso Q2 S is a great choice and very capable
@@AlternativeBrewing how much would i need to spend to get hold of one?
Thank you another great review!!

NO - I thought it could but it's slightly off size for it
@@AlternativeBrewing Thank you, do you remember if because of the round plastic adapter or the HEX?

Is there really a differences between that motor and an electric screwdriver with a hex bit?
maybe about the speed limit and torque. but i don't think that will be an issue.
Will you please review Morphy Richards new Europa espresso machine..!!
Does someone know if this can function with the flair royal grinder?
great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Does it fit other brand grinders like the comandante?
ha! Of course I tried this 😀 but sadly the Comandante drive axle is a little too thin for the drive hub on the motor :(
@@AlternativeBrewing i think screw driver like philips go 2.0 better and cheaper than this, also you can use on any hand grinder
once a cas can produce how many cups of coffee
Is this compatible with JMax grinder?
No
Hi
Is this grinder good for espresso ?? Does it make Fine grind???
Yes, it'll grind fine.- probably not for espresso machines - but manual brewing espresso - like on a Flair, Rok, Robot or Picopresso YES
Is the motor compatible with other Hario models? I have the Hario Mill Dome. Do you know if it is compatible with that model or only with the Smart G?
Hi There, sorry it is not compatible with the Hario Mill Dome. It is compatible with other Hario Grinders but only the Smart G and Skerton Range
YEAH SCIENCE!
Nice bro 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks ✌️
What type of USB cable does it use? Micro or C?
Micro :(
@@AlternativeBrewing :( Oh dear...
In comparison with Skerton pro, which one has much consistent grinding ? Thanks
Skerton Pro 👌
Will this work with the Hario Mini Mill Slim Plus?
Yes 👍
definitely not cheap... the same price i can get a cheapsake (OEM) ceramic grinder and an electric hand drill
No thanks. I prefer the classic Hario Mini version.
Why though?
The classic experience is better
