A great combination of the wisdom that comes with age and experience and the enthusiasm and energy of youth. What a fascinating insight into this area of our country. May we learn from the mistakes of the past to help us care for the future of such splendid places.

The guy on the right is WRONG when, at 13:24, he says that the Great Divide Basin is the ONLY place in North America where the Continental Divide splits. There is also the Lake Of The Woods Basin (near Union Pass & Dubois, WY) & a larger area in southern New Mexico which I also think includes part of Mexico as well.
The continental divide also "disappears" at TWO OCEAN PASS & splits to form the mini-basin that creates Two Ocean Creek in the Teton Wilderness south of Yellowstone & north of Togwotee Pass. Two Ocean Creek splits to form Atlantic Creek & Pacific Creek, which provides a continuous waterway from the Golf of Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. It literally cuts the North American continent in half.
I think ISA LAKE, in Yellowstone Park, may be in its own endoheric basin as well. The strange thing about Isa Lake is that the waters that flow east out of Isa Lake flow to the Pacific & the waters out the wast end of Isa Lake flow to the Gulf of Mexico.

9:17 . . . "Excellent High Desert Star Gazing" : has anyone considered establishing an Optical Astronomical Observatory in the middle where light pollution is minimized ?

There was a 66 square miles area just south of Steamboat Mountain. I did a project to have it reserved as a conservation bank, But the owner sold the property and now it is gone. It's to bad.
