I’ve always hated the way that Clarence was treated this season. Would love to see him come back and of course T Bird is a must have!!!
Yup. I hold that against Lex a little bit too, but Big Tom was the ringleader on that. It felt like some racial bias.

What is blowing my mind rn is that Rob C is currently the same age as Big Tom when BT played the first time.

I actually always liked Kim Johnson and thought she had a nice arc on Africa. She’s kind of a side character until the endgame where she suddenly has this underdog comp run, beating out these three big dudes while being a short older woman. I never got why she’s always somewhat dismissed by the fandom, yeah she gets a quiet edit but she has an impressive run here in Africa and I think she deserves to get her flowers for it.

Being honest, wasn't Tom more homophobic than Frank was?
And to be "frank" Brandon was a brat who never pulled a night shift, did nothing around camp, and treated all the older Samburu's like garbage, so are we certain Frank's disdane for him was because he was gay? Brandon wasn't exactly a shining example of a winning personality.

It would be great to have Lex and T-Bird back for season 50. I felt T-Bird was robbed from getting on second chances and it would be interesting to see an older Lex come back. Clarence is an interesting choice it would be a great second chance for him if he returns. I would like to see Kelly Goldsmith return as well

T-Bird is my top pick, she’s so charming and warm I think she would be great in the new era
T-Bird! T-Bird! T-Bird! Besides Pearl Islands, Africa has always been my favorite pre-All Stars season, even with the sometimes bitter cast disputes. T-Bird is a big part of the reason why. I agree she was playing a new era game during the old era-- she was way underrated as a strategist. And on a personal note, I was a gay man younger than Brandon at the time watching the show. T-Bird talking about her love for her brother brought me to tears. She did her best to reign Frank in firmly but with love. At the time it aired, I thought she was a role model for how to be an ally to LGBTQ+ family members, and a lot of people like me don't always have that. Survivor and society have moved a lot in 20 years, but Africa's representation of that dynamic was important. Also, Brandon, Clarence, and Kelly were amazing.
I'm very curious about the casting process for this season. I'd imagine that they wouldn't bring back season themes/locations as subtitles and just stick to numbers, so it opens up a lot of avenues for casting without trying to fit a certain theme. Will they go the "contact anybody" like Blood vs Water? Will they stick to returnees for more recents seasons since the only recent returnee season was only winners? Will they try to have a decent mix of old school vs. new school? Will they go the "legends" route even if it means casting people that have played a lot of times? Or will they go with people that only played once before? There is so much potential.
We all had a crush on Kelly back then. I would love to see her back on Survivor.
Hey Rob Has A Podcast, do you think that we might going to have more than 20 Castaways for Survivor 50? I think it’s possible that Survivor 50 will might have more than 20 Castaways since this season will be the biggest season in Survivor History with the casting between returnees from season 1-39 to 41-49. Survivor 50 could be having 24-32 castaways for this biggest season in Survivor History.
I mean, we don’t know what the casting process is gonna be, most likely it’ll just be all New Era. There’s nothing telling us yet that pre-41 players will be considered. I doubt they’ll go over 20, just scheduling wise it won’t work and honestly, I’d be surprised if they even go higher than 18. They have made their stance quite clear that the current format of the show is the standard moving forward and they’re not gonna be flexible about it, no matter how much we complain.
@@handsoaphandsoap I would agree with you. However it still too early to think on what the production is going to do for Survivor 50. I hope that Jeff Probst sees and understands on what fans actually wanted for this future biggest All-Star returnee season. Could up to 20 Castaways or more on what production think for this future biggest returnees season of Survivor 50.
I think it definitely should be super-sized! More days, more contestants!

I want both Clarence and Kel back so much. All the food rumours were the worst thing about the early seasons, it was just a lazy way to get someone voted out who they already wanted out for another reason. Clarence as you said, good sense of humour and good challenges would make for a compelling return. Kel I believe is part Canadian because he was with Canadian TV before and after Survivor, and since Survivor has expanded to include more Canadians it would be interesting to have the contrast of new era Canadians like Maryanne, Erika on the same season as a Canadian who played in early Survivor.

As much as I love love love T-Bird, and she is all about playing again.....she's 65. When was the last time we had someone over 60 on the show?

I don't think its impossible that they tap Clarence. The diversity initiative will probably leave more spots open for a relatively small pool of contestants of color! I would absolutely LOVE to see Clarence back, I've always liked him.

@@andyhuber Apologies if it came across like I was steamrolling at all! I didn't get the sense that Jason wanted to consider Lindsey. If so, I would have been more than happy to entertain discussion about it
Agree on Teresa and Clarence. I would actually put Lindsey over Lex. She was extremely entertaining and it would be cool to see a Mall Rat come back all these years later. Also she hasn’t experienced the updated tiebreaker protocols yet haha.

Silas robbed again. The first player ever screwed by swap, no idea it was a possibility at the time. Deserves a shot to play knowing what is possible from the game. Is this the season that Lex was screwed out of a possible finals appearance too and they had to come back and pay him $100k? Preference at this point would probably be people who haven't already played twice as that doesn't really seem fair to new school players if they make it New vs. Old. A lot of the "good" players from this season are going to be 60+ at time of playing in 50, so probably going to have to aim young honestly. I mean if T-bird wants to make a run at this at 65 cool though.

My idea for season 50 is….. the new Second Chance season buuuuuut divided old school vs new era..
Every player has played once before… It feels like we JUST had season 40 full of ‘Legends’ and it was amazing buuut… give us 20 players that were good but we feel like would benefit from the second chance..

i so tired of lex. i watched africa recently and i cannot stand that man. his attitude is horrible, he goes around being so entitled all the time. i would never want to see him again on tv ever again for real after how he handled the situation of his stray vote from t-bird

I do not want to to see Lex back, due to the move he pulled on ethan on All Stars, the people i want to see is Ethan, T-Bird, Clarence, Kelly "Because i didn't vote for stupid lex", Brandon would be cool, Silas would be cool too.

Miiiiike, come on, man. You're better than this. Lex and Ethan was not the same thing as Lex and Boston Rob at all. Rob asked Lex to let his new girlfriend stay on the island so she wouldn't go out pre-jury and go on a trip with her ex boyfriend and promised not to use it against him in the game if he did. Then Rob used it against him in the game. It was absolutely personal and related to their friendship outside the game. Rob was leaving the implication there that there would be problems between them, as men and as friends, if Lex voted Amber out of the game when Rob was promising not to let it hurt Lex. Nothing like that happened with Lex and Ethan. Ethan wouldn't hava anywhere near as good a reason to be as mad at Lex as Lex was at Rob. I love Rob and I'm kind of proud of young him for seizing his opportunity for glory the way he did, but I wouldn't want to be his friend anymore if it were me who he betrayed and humiliated in such a personal manner on national T.V.
