When I started this journey, I had no idea that I would stumble upon such a supportive, wonderful, amazing community of Aussie makers and builders. The people I've met, the stories that were shared, and the friends now made are things that will stay with me for a lifetime now. Don't forget your part and contribution in all this Ainslee, my daughter is a big fan and it's amazing to be able to share with her inspiring female maker role models like yourself. ❤
Thank you so much Anthony. It was such a great weekend and chatting to everyone was just so much fun and Inspiring. I feel like we didn’t get to chat much so next year we must sit down and chat! I have been binge watching your content all week and loving it. Thank you for all the support 😀
@@SmallFryCreations That means alot and I'm certain there will be another chance to!
It seems these meetups are getting better with each one. So looking forward to the next one. I remember watching one of your videos for the first time and thinking “what a cool chick” and never in my wildest dreams thinking we would meet and become friends. I truly believe the Aussie maker community is the best in the world. Love the video, Ainslee, you’ve captured the essence of the weekend brilliantly. Thank you. 👍❤️
Thank you Chris!! I agree. I would never have thought this is where it would lead and meeting so many cool people and making friends! Just such a great weekend and so happy we could capture it
I'm not crying, it's just sawdust. I'm not releasing mine now... That was too perfect ❤
Thank you James. I hope the feeling of the weekend made it through to the video. Such a great weekend! You must release yours!! I wanna see it! 😀😀
It was amazing meeting you and the engineer in person at all! Very fortunate to have been able to be a part of it! Thank you for taking the time to make it to the maker meet up! Wouldnt have been sucessful wihtout the efforts from you all to make to "melbourne" (definitely not melbourne)! Thank you! Looking and already planning for the next one!
Hey Vipun thanks for maing the drive to come. It was such a great night and so lovely to meet you in person and hang out :) Very much looking forward to the next one
Yay! It was fun to hangout and meet the engineer! How great to sell her some engineer’s squares! :)
Was a great weekend and loving all our purchases 😀
The amazing night that was the Makers Meetup 23. I learnt so much on the night to help me along in my woodworking journey. You have an amazing energy that shows in everything you do. What a great video.
Thank you. Such a great nice and walked away with such inspiration!
@@SmallFryCreations don’t forget to try the fly wire for the small parts on the laser.
Build a frame from 1x2 pine and stretch the fly wire over that. It will support the small pieces so you don’t risk cutting them when they drop through your honeycomb
Yep I will for sure. It was such a great tip!! Will be looking for it next trip to Bunnings!!
Aw Ainslee that was magic. Thanks for sharing. I felt your joy when you made your own pen. I once turned a bowl and am still glowing when I think of it. Such a wonderful trip. Happy for you and looking forward to seeing what you're inspired to do in the future. As a 53 year old mum of two young adults just getting into woodworking bit by bit, I love seeing what you do and how well you explain things. I've learned so much and now I just have to find the self belief to get started on all these projects.
Thank you very much!! You can do it I promise and just giving something a go and getting started is the hardest part. Thank you for stopping by and the support
Wow Ainslee, great video. It was another classic example of you genuinely oozing passion for what you do. The smile on your face when you began turning your first pen was bright enough to light up the dimmest galaxy. Keep up the great work 🥰
Thanks you Kuffy. It was so much fun and lovely to chat!!
Beautiful wrap-up video Ainsley. It was awesome to meet you and so many other makers. We really do have a fabulous community.
So lovely to get to sit and down and chat :) Such a great time
You are all such fantastic people and awesome to see this side of the maker community.
Thank you for sharing this @smallfrydiy
Thank you. Glad I could capture the weekend and share the joy. Thanks for the support
Great video as always! It was lovely to meet you and it was a fun night wasn't it. Looking forward to the next one!
Thank you. Yes me to. Bring on next year 😀
Oh dang it I never left a comment here? 😆 Great video Ainslee and co, lots of fun to watch and to relive some parts of it. It was great to be able to host you all for a little bit, even though it got a little cramped with so many in the workshop 😆still great fun and you're all welcome anytime! See you at the next one!
Thanks for having us Mario! Lots of fun and nice to have something to looking back on and relive the memories 😀
You are an inspiration to watch. Loved the video and seeing all the woodworkers workshops. I watch all your videos when you post them and it gives me so much help with my hobby and I have been able to learn so much in my woodworking journey and purchased tools that I probably would not have if I had not seen you using them first. It all started when I got back into woodworking this year when I purchased my sawstop table saw after seeing your review on it. Absolutely love it. Just need to sort the layout of my garage out now. I have moved it around so many times in my head. Looking forward to more of your videos. Hopefully the next meeting will be in Sydney. I feel I know some of the people so well at the meet up although they would have no idea who I am as I have watched so many of their videos.
Hey Cathy Thank you. I thought I have responded but it may not have saved. Thanks for stopping by and all the lovely kind words. Glad I can help and offer some inspiration and create.
Looks like a fantastic time had by all & very nice videography 👍
Hey Dirk Thank you. We missed you!! Hope we can catch up at the next one.
Great round up of the event , very jealous!
Thank you Joe. It was a great time. Looking forward to next year for sure
We are excited and honoured to be your first hand tool!!! Let us know how it goes!
…and thanks to James for talking you into it😂
Thank you. Exctied to learn how to use it and bring it into my workflow :)
Loved the video Ainslee almost as much as I loved the weekend and the Maker Meetup. This one was definitely the best by far, a great turn out (our biggest yet), I met a few newcomers (and hopefully inspired them) and caught up with old friends as well. Hanging out with the A-Team is always a pleasure for me. It was sad that a few couldn’t make it but I’m already thinking about MM’24 in Sydney 👍🏼👍🏼
Agreed Vic. Just such a great weekend!! We had a blast! Already looking forward to next year. You better start planning 😀
What are the chances of coming north of the border?? 😃 a few of us Nth Queenslanders are keen 👍🏼👍🏼
Sydney is a great mid point between Melbourne and Brisbane. Many makers will be travelling north so you guys could travel south.
Very very true for those who live in Brissy 👍🏼 Townsville unfortunately is a touch further lol.
Mate it was a great time and an absolute pleasure meeting you and the engineer!!! Next time you are in Melbourne and want to learn how to make a knife please let me know and we will make it happen!!!!
Thank you so much Darren! Such a great time and will let you know when we are down next for sure
Great wrap up Ainslee, way to rub it in to us northerners 🤣🤣, looks like everyone had a great time. 🤘🏼
Thank you. You will have to come next year :) Its a winner of an event for sure
👏🏼🌟
Thank you :)
What a wonderful video Ainslie! So good to so many makers that I know from M2C1!
Chris was a great host but I am concerned that I did not see Dirk - I hope he is not poorly, maybe work commitments prevented his participation. Good to see you all pen turning too - I have the great fortune to own one of Chris's masterpiece fountain pens - I treasure it and with a broad nib it produces 13th century Gothic Textualis and other scripts. I know you and the Engineer will treasure yours. Good to see her and I was so glad James could get to this splendid, good humoured and inclusive event. Thank you so much for uploading Ainslee and super camera work Engineer! Eryk :-)
Hey Eryk Chris is the best host for sure. It was a great weekend and Dirk was missed. I believe he had to work. The pen tuning was lots of fun and using the pen just brings back the memories of the weekend which is a lovely take away. Glad I could capture the weekend and share so for thoses that couldn't attend still felt like they were there. Hope you are well and thank you as always for stopping by and all your kind words.
What an awesome video, mate. It's great to have a makers meet up here in Australia. Haha, but it did make me a tad jealous, lol next time lol
Thanks Stu. You will have to make the next one for sure. A tonne of fun and you walk away super keen to keep making!! Good little recharge
@SmallFryCreations Definitely will attend the next one. I've been extremely busy, back to my pre-injury role, and also huge renovations as we are looking at moving. We just missed out a home with an industrial shed on the property, as we weren't ready to put our home on the market. Hope you, engineer and fur baby is doing well.
I am very disappointed that I couldn't make it.
Next time Steve!! It’s a must 😀
Great video. I think I've watched it about 5 or 6 times now. Was the whole thing shot on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3?
Hey Yey everything where we are in melbourne and the intro is on the DJI. The places where I'm in the workshop talking to camera is my regular camera. I'm super impressed with the DJI!
Definitely a great little camera. I will more than likely getting one very soon. After watching all the reviews on CZcams, it's a miracle I've lasted this long without one. 🤣🤣🤣👍
Hi Ainslee, I would love to get to chat to other Aussie Makers in person. How do I go about coming along to the next one?
Hy Nicole it was a great time. The next one will be held in Sydney I believe. Vic from Downunder Woodworks is normally the organiser so just be following Vic on Social and when it comes up he will have the details 😎
@@SmallFryCreations awesome, thank you, I’ll look up Vic
I love watching your videos, I’ve learnt heaps from you & your enthusiasm is infectious! Can you suggest where would be a good place online to meet other Australian makers? I’ve looked but struggled, so suspect I’m using the wrong wording to search. Any suggestions would be great.
Thank you. Appericate the the kind words :) In the decription of the video there are links to some of the makers which might help :)
