@@Sodaholic6502 It's common when reading text responses, people portray their current emotion at the time of reading the text as to their interpretation of what the writer's tone was when typing it out. He was probabaly in a bad mood when reading the reply and thusly understood the reply as having an angry tone.
Also the "so we don't" is at fault as well because the way it is written in at the end of the response with a lack of punctuation suggests a snarky and sarcastic or pessimistic tone.
A better way of typing that response perhaps would have been to say;
_"Unfortunately that spelling of his name is just the way the developer of the remaster interpreted it (phonetically), so the correct spelling is still unknown."_

The middle cutscenes weren't as popular because iirc only the intro and outro cutscenes were available on quebecgamers, where everyone went for the cutscenes back in the day.
Later on I remember there was a community effort to emulate the game in the highest quality possible and record the cutscenes, and if I'm not mistaken, it's that effort that unleashed the high quality cutscenes onto CZcams that you'll find today if you search.
But yeah, in the very early years, it was only the intros and outros, and those were the ones that became iconic because of it. Plenty other people a couple years after used middle cutscenes, but by then they weren't cemented in memory like the others were.
This would explain why King Harkinian is the most popular of these Zelda CD-i characters, despite only having 8 lines between the two games (only 2 of which in Faces of Evil).
The middle cutscenes were being used by mid 2007. I was 18 at the time and that was when you started seeing all the various Morshu, Beer Guy, Glutgo ect shit going around.
Wow.. you archivist guys are heroes. I'm misfortuned by being born in 2003 and in a country that loves historical revisionism by turning a thief into a hero, so I kinda had to be literate on my own with how dumb we were. Took me a while to check out this YTP stuff and when I did, dead memes like my username had taken over.

I remember people were ripping them live in a thread, they were genuinley slowed down a lot because of how shitty the game was, and there were next to no guides for it back then too. They were troopers.
That's why YTPers used the QuebecGamers rips for so long, there were no other options

Like, the character designs are mostly awful but you can clearly tell a lot of effort went into the graphics. It's not actually that bad, other than gameplay disconnects like inability to tell what's a ledge and what's not. That's the tragedy of these shit-ass games, whoever made them worked hard on them, and they were still horrifyingly bad.
The cutscenes are actually pretty well animated too

Here's the insane thing about Zelda CDI that no one seems to have given credit for: I'm actually convinced that the game's screens are hand-painted. Look at the backgrounds and the textures. I'd also love to see if they line up with the overworld map 1/1, because that would confirm it in my eyes. For a game as jank and often memed as this, some genuine effort in the line of art went into it.
I believe it was indeed confirmed that the backgrounds were painted then digitized.
it's impressive on face value, but according to the devs it absotlutely ANIHILATED the RAM but Phillips kept pushing for it because it looked prettier than the competition. IIRC they said it only allowed for 1.5 screens worth of content.
I think there's a LOT of potential for YTP in the line "Myyyy, you're thirsty!".

Something about the Zelda CDi games being improved is awesome, yet feels off at the same time.
The improved gameplay mixed with the still uncanny animation just makes it more interestingly surreal.
