Some faiths don't see it that way. My mother had a problem with law of old testament, she thought she had the right to whip kids way up in their 20's. Her father was the same way. They just couldn't let go of that control.
My mother said he even threnghten to whip his oldest daughter after she was grown and married and had kids. 😞They loved control. 😒

We don't have to abstain from certain meats because they don't make us unclean anymore. Paul said we are not the better not the worse for it. 😁

With me I don't think fasting is really in the new covenant. We are justified by faith and not by any righteous acts we do. If anyone wants to that is up to them, it is like trying to keep the sabbath holy or keeping a feast day. It doesn't profit. Even Paul said body exercise profit little. Fasting is like exercising the flesh. If you feel it profits do it. 😊

@@STEVEH0LT Ok you may not believe that we we are under the new covenant, but God told Jeremiah the different covenant he would make in the different one and it wouldn't be like the one he made with the fathers. The new covenant was the cross. and the blood pour out. He said the blood was shed for many. We are saved by faith in Christ. We don't have to sacrifice animals for atonement.

@@STEVEH0LT you can believe that if you want to , but he has made the others obsolete. one lord one faith and one baptism. Where you think we are under various covenants, no. Jesus is the only one. if you think we are under noah's with God you would have to build a boat.
they could eat any unclean food. Under the levitical you couldn't. Now it is all clean.
Each one was a bit different. This one we are under is different from all the rest.

@@STEVEH0LT All right look at Joel ;28 . God said he would pour out his spirit on all flesh. Whosoever calls on the name of the lord will be saved . That means us.
You as it has said before it is not like the other ones he made with their fathers. We have a chance to be heirs in the promises of the covenant to.
no I am not arguing baptism, it's the salvation we have in Christ as others do. Jesus made it for all people. if we didn't it would do any good to believe on him.

@@STEVEH0LT That was a technicality of the law of the covenant. He was there to save israel but they rejected him in the end.
they didn't believe he was their Messiah.
So he chose Paul as a vessel to preach to Gentiles. Paul told us that one is a Jew inwardly not outwardly.

@@STEVEH0LT You can what you will , but we are under the new covenant. Jesus fulfilled the the law and the prophets like he said. if you read Luke 22:24. he told them that they were slow to believe to. He said they would pass as he said.
