In fact, especially for violent crimes, women get way harsher sentences than men do; despite commiting them way less and for way less "lower" reasons / motives.
Where a man gets 2 to 6 years average, women get 15(!) years average - even if it's self defense.

Yet whenever a woman commits a murder a ( biological woman) The death penalty is taken off the table. Example The Doomsday mom who murdered her kids had them (or did it herself) buried on her new husband's property yet the death penalty was taken off the table for her but not for him.

I was raped by my ex- husband and he attempted to murder me when I left him. I did this and sent it up in a balloon, but I think burning it would've felt much better.

I grew up in a very dysfunctional and abusive family. I ran away from home at age 14. As a kid, my parents beat the crap out of me on a regular basis, along with my brother and sister.. I dont have any desire to kill anyone. I am a compassionate, caring person. I am so sorry this happened to this woman.. a few years older than me. I am grateful to you for being her voice and advocate and telling her story.

What sickens me to no end is that convicted murderers can live for 20 years or even longer before they are finally executed. That is the most pathetic, atrocious, disrespectful thing for the victims. The victims and their families and loved ones deserve better!

There are a lot of crazies out there, and, as this story shows, if you have gone too far, they can become violent if you pull back and try to withdraw from the relationship. Very very dangerous. Also, a protection order is useless and worthless, and some women mistakenly think that such a document has the power to save their life. It doesn't!

Thank you, Lamont for being this woman's advocate. I had never even heard about this case until you presented it. The murderer was a con artist by the description of their behavior, making a dramatic change to garner sympathy and maybe just maybe get a reprieve on the death sentence. It obviously didn't work. Just think of everything his victim went through, even before he raped and killed her. Not to mention that earlier rape of a 14 y/o girl. Her surviving kids got robbed of their mother in such a horrible way. May Beverly and her father rest in peace.

AMEN Lamont! !!! My siblings and I came from a dysfunctional family and abused! We all actually made sure that we raised our children completely opposite of how we were raised! It also made us grow up faster! We would never want anyone to go through what we did! You have choices in life! I always told my children you and you alone are responsible for your actions! Excellent video! You did a great job speaking up for the victim, Beverly. Thank you for pointing out the extreme weirdness of protecting and coddling the perpetrator and ignoring the brutality the victim suffered. That even one person would have the nerve to defend that man, is beyond belief.

It's honestly disrespectful, no way would a man know how it's actually to be a woman and I never hear of women going around raping and murdering women (so then a trans woman wouldn't do that either then). Thank you for posting this video. If I may, as a retired cop, I would like to give a PSA pertaining to protective orders. A protection order does not insure one's safety. Orders are often ignored by those who are intent on bringing pain and destruction to innocent people! There is one caveat. if a victim decides to take steps to ensure his/her personal safety, by carrying a weapon such as a gun, if the perpetrator decides to disregard the order, and is shot and killed, the victim has as a major defense. The defense of receiving court documents showing that they were in fear for their life! If a person is unwilling to take the steps of legally obtaining a weapon for protection, I will suggest that they flee to a secret place for protection. During my career I encountered sociopaths, trust me when I say they can be very deceiving as well as deadly. Don't be fooled by the smiles and charming personality!
I totally agree with you. I have done many OOP arrests and on court day, the offender gets a slap on the wrist. The next time the order is violated, the victim sometimes won't sign the complaint because, "ya'll just gonna let him go anyway". I gave them the same info and advice you stated.

Thank you - this exact advice has kept my children and I safe for nearly 14 years! When my ex contacted me half an hour after being released from gaol the advice from the local police was "The ball is in his court. He's served his time (manslaughter, not mine thank God), and you'll most likely not even be granted a protection order considering how long he's been locked away - the status quo is that he hasn't hurt anyone for 8 years so....we suggest you all disappear. We can't keep you safe, we can only clean up *after* the mess he makes."
What a sobering but truthful statement - and I constantly give thanks to those officers for giving it to me straight, no frills, so I could make an informed decision ❤️
