    As someone that has the iPhone 15 Pro, I don't think I need it because it is the only iPhone that has the option to change the charging behavior to 80% limit. Occasionally it will charge up to 100% to ensure the battery health is fully optimal. I also created a shortcut to turn on low battery mode after reaching 80%. Dude, I’ve had an iPhone 14 Pro since launch, and you explaining your experience with your 14 Pro battery draining alarmingly quickly, is *exactly* what happened to me, so much so, that my 14 Pro battery health is 87%, just like what you showed in the video. This is after owning it since November 9th 2022 (I got my launch model replaced under warranty because of an unrelated manufacturer defect with the screen).
    I got a MagSafe battery pack for Christmas 2023, and I cannot tell you how much I agree with you with how amazing it is. Not only does it not charge my phone past 90%, but it also doesn’t generate as much heat as a MagSafe charger, so I can charge my phone on the battery pack, while it’s connected to a lightning port, for 15W of much cooler charging temperatures.

    Yes as an old normal I have only used fast charge of any of my iPhones one time. At night I use a 2 amp low power connection to charge my Apple iPhone 15 Pro.
    Because I am at my home office desk most of the time my Apple iPhone 15 Pro is always plugged in to a charger. Also plugged in when I am downstairs watching TV, and also while I am in my car. One of the first things I setup on my new Apple iPhone 15 Pro under Settings / Battery / Battery Health & Charging / Charging Optimization was to set it to 80% Limit. My hope is to have many years without having to replace the battery.
    Have used my Apple iPhone 15 Pro as my daily driver since I first picked it up on October 2nd, 2023. Today December 8th, 2023 just checked under Settings / Battery / Battery Health & Charging and Maximum Capacity still shows 100%. So I am very happy under Charging Optimization new setting 80% Limit. Wish they had this limit in IOS for my now backup Apple iPhone 11 Pro. Would turn it on in a heartbeat.

    Hi!
    I have my Xiaomi 11T Pro 5G that has a 4000mAh+ battery, I use it heavily 7 to 8 hours of SOT with about 20% left, and charge it once per day (never during sleep, even sometimes charging it twice when I leave it for 5 min before sleep just to top It of, and in the morning I leave it to charge to 100% in another 5/7 minutes)
    I have it for a year and a half now and 0 problems or concerns using the 120W charger, the biggest problem with the batteries nowadays is how fast you discharge it, making the battery super warm.
    Or by using it and charging it as the same time..
    A good way to keep the battery of my phone and ANY phone or any lithium ion battery for that matter is to guarantee that you don't make her warm, by letting her use as little juice as possible and to charge it moderately.

    My 13 Pro Max is at nearly 600 charge cycles, with 91% battery health and it still lasts great on a charge. I’ve had the phone for 28 months now so when the battery does eventually start to get bad I’ll probably just replace the battery rather than add a second power bank to it (can’t speak for a 14 series iPhone as I know they seem to degrade worse). I think this battery pack is best suited to those who need to use around 150% of a charge per day.

  • @andyH_England
    @andyH_England Před 6 měsíci +62

    First, use the 91% limit to help your battery health; give 50% more battery cycles before health falls to 80% (750 cycles instead of 500). Using the MagSafe pack will drain the pack first, then when empty, starts using the internal phone battery. Because it is trickle charging during your day-to-day usage, it has little detrimental effect on the battery health.
    Most of us use, on average, 4 hours SOT a day, so 20 hours is on standby, so we'll have the pack on from first thing until it runs out. I would not use it when gaming or when using the camera, as the wattage needed maxes out the pack and can cause further heat. I have used my iPhone 13PM for two years like this, and has 98% capacity and has reduced the cycle count to only 167 despite charging the pack once a day.
    Great device if you use it the way I do.

      not really.
      The iPhone calculates its charging cycles by simply passing 100% every time. If you have the battery pack attached and using the 91% limit, every time the phone battery becomes less than the limit the battery pack will charge it back. the charging cycle will keep going because your phone is being charged incrementally every drop below 91%.

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England Před 6 měsíci

      @@rakanal-zahrani3887 as far as I'm aware that is absolutely not true. If a person charges only 50% per day because that's all they need then it will register half a cycle. It works the same for 91%. It will register 9/10 of a cycle. To imagine it cannot work out something as simple as that would be false.

    seems like you can get the same effect with just charging your phone correctly... I dont want to have a bulky pack on the back of my phone all day. Just charging to 80% is an option in the settings and you can always carry a powerbank and occasionally plug it in to get a few % back. That wont heat up the phone and it will be much more efficient.
    I have the Sharge icemag, its similar but it has active cooling and has 10k mah. It is a bit bigger but i can use it as a normal powerbank as well so that makes it a lot more useful. The 80% limit will stop it from overcharging, but it won’t have the same trickle charge feature as the Apple one has. Also a lot of third party chargers charge at a faster speed, like 15w or 20w, versus the 7.5w of this Apple one. Yes that means it charges the phone faster, but also means more heat and damage to the battery.

It worked good for about a month without heavy use then after that its life was horrible. Wouldn’t even charge my mini iPhone 12 halfway. I still have it and have the 14 plus atm and it definitely doesn’t even give it a quarter charge. Aside from the lifespan the price is absurd. Also I’m not the only person I know with this battery pack that has had the same issues. Btw my 14 plus’s battery has worked flawlessly and lasts me about a day or 2 with pretty heavy use and lasts the entire time without a charge.

Never had to think about battery health. The convenience of putting it to charge over night is just the best. Now with my iP 15 Pro Max im only charging it to 80 % since that is more than I need on a daily basis.
