Hey Jess, I've watched all the tutorials for this gorgeous bag and your's is by far the best one out there for explaining everthing. Love this bag. You are my absolute favorite bag maker for tutorials!!!. Thank you so much!!
Thank u for doing this pattern...I love it! I bought all her patterns, so this will be the one I will make first 🤗 I hope u do all her patterns, they are absolutely amazing! Thank so much Jess 😙
I absolutely love your bag! I have this pattern and have made a couple of versions..its such a practical and easy one to use as your everyday bag. I have bought all of Melissa's other patterns ..all gorgeous but this was the first one I made. Can't wait to see your tutorials for the others too...hint hint! You do such detailed ànd useful tutorials...please never stop..take care, Lindy
hi jess a big thank you for demonstating about stazbilizers as thats the hardest part not knowiing what to use im a beginner so im only using canvas etc so find it hard whether to make them soft or hard i only hope you show other vidios with stabilizers 'you are a great teacher cheers
This turned out so well! I used quilt cotton & dry oilskin for the exterior. Waterproof canvas for the lining, and the pockets out of cotton canvas. I did not interface the dry oilskin. It was pretty darn hard to turn but the end result was fabulous. I did the handles and crossbody strap out of the dry oilskin.
Yay! I love this bag! I wish I would have waited until your tutorial though, because I got the pocket curl with the single closure 🙄. I did put in the zipper gusset and love that. Thanks for another fantastic tutorial ❤️
Love the video and the bag. If I want to eliminate the handles completely do you think the bag would be stable if instead of placing the crossbody strap where you did in the video. you could put one strap connector on opposite sides of the bag in the same seam as the straps but closer to the side seams? Straps never stay on my shoulder so basically I always have to use crossbody bags.
Great timing my MIL wanted a tote and this will be perfect for her for Christmas! Question, can I use side tabs for the crossbody strap rather than the hardware you used? I don't have anything like that atm. What step or position would you recommend sewing them in.? I love your video's Jess! Thanks so much
Not Jess here but I've made two with regular cross body strap hardware....I added the connectors to the middle of the side of the exterior just after you close up the sides of the exterior, before you drop the exterior into the lining....they will be sandwiched in between the two layers. I placed mine about 1.5 inches down from the top Thus they'll reappear on the outside once you've sewn the exterior and lining together at the top of the bag. This way gives you the option of almost any regular D ring or rectangular rings..or even hidden strap connector methods if you like the look of those. The cross body strap will be attached via swivel clasp rings to the connectors on the sides. You'll love this bag im sure! Lindy
Hey Jess, you are hands-down my absolute favorite bag maker tutorial person!! Your directions are fabulous. The only place I get lost sometimes is with the stabilizers. I’m never quite sure what to use with what since I frequently don’t have the decovil Products or some of the other foam. I’m finally starting to branch out from just using quilt cotton and I am going to be using waterproof canvas this time, wahooo. Here’s my question… Can I iron on a stabilizer to the waterproof canvas to make it a little sturdier. I don’t think it is a sturdy as the wax canvas so I think the stabilizer for the waterproof canvas might be necessary. Your thoughts???
I bought what I thought was just like yours ... Mine don't have screws! You press the sides together and it has two prongs that grip the fabric. Will these work??
@@OklaRoots if we can use regular zippers and not the #5 how do we compensate for the diff in pattern pieces when sewn. Won’t there be a diff of maybe 1/2”. Thank you.
Great pattern - I really appreciated the zipper tutorial, but maybe someone can come up with a way so the fabric pieces are even? I hate wasting fabric and the pockets seem a wee bit too short for my taste.
once again a FABULOUS BAG!! JESS DAHLING, YOU DONE IT AGAIN! MUST PURCHASE THIS PATTERN.

@@ParchCraftAustralia Thank you so much for your input and explaining in great detail for me! I will be trying this for sure! :)
@@amy4smiles You're very welcome Amy!
Where do you get your purse parts and fabrics? You are a very good instructor♥️
Yes yes yes!!!!!!!!!
Hello, This Bag is gorgeous! What size magnetic snaps did you use, the 14,, or 18mm?....Thanks!
If you use decovil light, can you remove the seams so its easier?

Have you ever tried a Teflon foot? I just bought a janome hd5000 and purchased a Teflon foot I’m super excited to try on leathers. It may help☺️
Yes! They are fantastic!
Great work as always 🤩 .it would be nice to put some ASMR when sewing instead of music 🥰😉
Why do you use a zipper facing for the outer zip, pocket?
I bought what I thought was just like yours ... Mine don't have screws! You press the sides together and it has two prongs that grip the fabric. Will these work??
When are you going to use the zipper stencil? I'm so bad at drawing the zipper placement rectangle.
nice
I ordered the pattern, thank you for the discount, much appreciated. Can you use regular zippers with this bag? I don't own a heavy duty machine
Yes of course! The zippers I’m using are plastic, so easy to sew over. But any zipper will be perfect

Is there a link for pattern

Would you be able to take a request?

The zip install seems a bit too involved. There is an easier way.
🥰😍
Where did you get those embroidered pattern piece labels? Are they new?
Aren’t they cute? I got them in an advent calendar last year. www.stitchsupplyco.com/products/quilt-numbers?_pos=5&_sid=7d2e9d126&_ss=r
