You don't need to fight the 2 dragons, they'll handle that themselves so long as they don't notice you. For some reason, they stop being able to hit one another once they see you
Just imagine how epic pov it is for Igon to see some tarnished dude climbing/rolling through mountain and ploughing dragons in their own nest left and right.
The dude is metal af He literally went like "my legs, my arms, my entire body is ruined and my mind i filled with fear and ptsd but my spirit can still fight so we will kill him"
Not to mention that as he was dying he was apparently still making the harpoons, just so that he may kill Bayle. The guy crawls up the mountain halfway, legless, while still crafting more weapons for slaughtering that dragon. Then he dies and STILL kills Bayle because he just has that much power driving him forward even in death.
Don't forget that, since he can't get up there to make a summon sign himself, he snaps off one of his own fingers so you can carry it up there and make it for him.

I felt the same way. I had no idea what I was to do with him or if I should just leave him there. Fast forward to the foot of the Jagged Peak.. and yeah, things got wild after that. Phenomenal NPC
I actually tried casting a heal miracle when I first encountered him. I thought maybe he'd thank me for easing his pain or something and showing me the way to the jagged peak. Didn't expect this mf to become captain Ahab reborn
That last part of Tarnished being dead while Igon is standing there is sooo damn accurate. Literally my ng7 Bayle experience. Peak boss, peak npc and peak dlc overall though.
Most NPC summons feel like a friend, or provide cool dialogue in the fight that adds some additional story. But Igon makes you feel like a true drake warrior and gets you absolutely HYPED for the battle. May Bayle haunt him no longer, and may the voice actor have his salary doubled
Spot on -- I think so far the best NPC summon moments have been Siegward in DS3 vs Yhorm (although he just kinda walks in there as opposed to summoning him) and Igon vs Bayle. So much storytelling in just a few lines, and in the case of Igon, an actual hype-man out there not only to motivate you, but also to destroy his sworn enemy
Everything surrounding Igon and Bayle has been phenomenally done. Bayle in particular became my favourite dragon boss. Even just looking at him as a boss (without the dragon component being mixed in) I think he's one of the greatest, up there with Isshin, Gael, Friede, etc.
My genuine first reaction to summoning Igon was "QUIT YER F*CKIN" YAPPIN, AND *HELP ME!!!"* my inevitable second attempt I said "Arg arg arg, capin' we'll get yer legs back from the deapths arg arg arg"
The fact that he introduces us as the '''true drake warrior'' was one of the best moments imo -- actually puts some respect onto our name, which in turn made me respect him all the more
He literally went in the battle hyping a promo up like a WWF wrestler from the 90's. Best part is he even hypes YOU up more than himself. "Behold a true drake warrior and I, Igon!!!" Dude lays the respect on you while redirecting that into trash talk hurled at this giant lizard.
I absolutely agree with everything you said I've been thinking about it and honestly I think he became my favourite dragon fight of all time (I still adore Midir though) That, and Igon's performance, like you mentioned, made it iconic. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years down the line people will still meme about the whole ''CURSE YOU BAYLE'' thing
I absolutey agree with everything you said -- the build up for going through the Jagged Peak has been absolutely amazing too. What a phenomenal experience
I liked how much Bayle and Igon mirrored each other both are lower socially speaking with bayle being a drake not a dragon and igon being low born as well. And both are so scarred by the time of their fight that they both can only fight due to summoning their own souls to propel them. igon needs this more so but bayle does summon extra wings. When i first saw igon i had no clue he was gonna be so great.
I absolutely love this little description -- you're spot on, my jaw was dropped when I saw Bayle's phase 2 transformation -- it still remains as one of my favourite of all time. As for Igon, yep -- I didn't think much of him when I first saw him out in the open, then at the foot of the jagged peak, everything changed and that's when the build up started. And what a pay off it had.
Right? I was so excited going through the Jagged Peak and seeing what's gonna happen -- the area itself was one of the most cinematic FS experiences (imo) with all the drakes fighting, lighting coming down, the fog obscuring everything below the peak -- and then Igon to top it all of. it was just perfect all around for me. I loved it
i love how much faith igon puts in you because he saw first hand your strength. infact i just love how much respect to your power most npcs give in elden ring. in dark souls npcs always acted like you didn’t just murder a deity 10 minutes ago
Thiollier, Ansbach, and Igon, are by far the best things about the DLC, and from home, Boc, Latenna, Boggart, Rya, Alexander, Roderika, Sellen, Millicent, and Hewg, they are the only ones who see you as a true comrade and confidant. Those twelve have faith in you, and that makes the struggle one worth fighting for.
I was about to put him out of his misery until I decided I’d come back to him whenever I found whatever it was I needed to progress his quest. Now imagine me, someone who has their character role play as a dragon slayer he’ll bent on slaying all dragons have this guy show up later to tell me I’m cool and that he wants to kill THE dragon. That moment I knew Igon was my favorite NPC in the whole game and I made sure to finish Bayle using Placidux’s laser attack to avenge the dragon I respected most (my favorite base game boss)
Hell yeah dude! I love it whenever people roleplay certain character types. Igon is just great overall too -- honestly might be my new favourite FS npc :)
Characters of other medias seek revenge: vain, gratuitous violence, linear and simple minded Characters of Elden Ring seek revenge: achieves the greatest human heights
He's committed, you gotta give him that Seriously his voice lines (and his VA's delivery of them) make Igon stand out so much. I'm truly glad we got yet another legendary-tier FS character
When I summoned and eventually killed Bayle with him, bro was so pissed he infinitely spammed dragon claw to the point of clipping out of bounds through a wall. 10/10 character.
This is probably one of my favorite videos of all time. The original blood + thunder meme is one of my all time favorites, and after playing the DLC and fighting Bayle i started to think about how much Igon is literally just Ahab and Bayle is his white whale. This shit scratches so many specific itches for me it’s insane, my autism has been satiated. Thank you so much for making this.
Its written all over his interactions, his circumstance and his item description. To this end, the player is Ishmael, being the only one witness to the great Igon's final battle against a force of nature.
I Love Igon so much, he keeps blabering while shooting at Bayle and it makes me wheeze so hard that i can't even land a hit or two to Bayle till my third attempt lmfao

That last part of Tarnished being dead while Igon is standing there is sooo damn accurate. Literally my ng7 Bayle experience. Peak boss, peak npc and peak dlc overall though.
+++
I don't think I'd be able to face Bayle on ng7
Props to you for doing that o7
@@fermyondsthe dragon hunter deals like 20% of his hp per charged hit tho, so not that bad
I needed this animation the moment i heard Igom talked for first time, 10/10 chef kiss
Who'd have thought that Elden Ring would have its own little Moby Dick adaptation, in a way?
Happy you enjoyed it though x)
I didn’t think someone would actually recreate it holy shit this is perfect
You're the perfect one here x) no but really, thank you for the kind words x)
The sheer emotion in the voice acting, the song, the visuals, i usually HATE dragon fights but man this bayle fight was absolute PEAK
Placidusax and Bayle were the only good ones.
Bayle feels to me like the Gael of dragon fights. Nothing comes close, aside maybe midir.
Exactly!! The fight and his rage really makes you appreciate Igon as a character x)
IT’S SO PEAK
Of course, it's happening on the Jagged Peak x)
@@fermyonds souls slang could include "this thing kinda jagged, NGL"
0:28 this one goes hard
The fact that he introduces us as the '''true drake warrior'' was one of the best moments imo -- actually puts some respect onto our name, which in turn made me respect him all the more
He literally went in the battle hyping a promo up like a WWF wrestler from the 90's.
Best part is he even hypes YOU up more than himself.
"Behold a true drake warrior and I, Igon!!!"
Dude lays the respect on you while redirecting that into trash talk hurled at this giant lizard.
Exactly!! That's the best part about his dialogue -- he puts some actual respect to your name, and it's great to see
love this. Bayle was such a good boss fight. Igon's voicelines made it so much better
I absolutely agree with everything you said
I've been thinking about it and honestly I think he became my favourite dragon fight of all time (I still adore Midir though)
That, and Igon's performance, like you mentioned, made it iconic. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years down the line people will still meme about the whole ''CURSE YOU BAYLE'' thing
A Blood and Thunder meme in 2024? What a time to be alive!
The more things change, the more they remain the same!
Going back to old memes seems to just be a part of life now :)
Holy shit. The Blood and Thunder meme resurfaces. This is so cool
And on the 20th anniversary of the albums release. Absolute cinema
The more things change, the more they stay the same. Old memes are always great!
Props to the voice actor for sacrificing his vocal cords to the primordial gods for his peak performance
Igon is fucking insane, and I love it
His insanity and rage is what gives him the charm we love him for -- Wish we had more characters like him!
He’s fit for a place in yarnum lol.
man Igon knows how to hype you the fuck UP
his speech + the music + the visuals make for the best fight in the dlc imo
I absolutey agree with everything you said -- the build up for going through the Jagged Peak has been absolutely amazing too. What a phenomenal experience
This is what people mean by instant classic, everyone knows Curse you Bayle
And we will remember Igon and his voice lines for the years to come. He 100% achieved legendary status in the FS community
@@fermyonds I have already invaded and been invaded by Igon cosplayers and Bayle cosplayers, and people whos name is just CURSEYOUBAYLE
Whatever amount FS paid to the Igon's voice actor, wasn't enough, pay him more, the man delivered in every single way possible.
I whole heartedly agree with you. He went above and beyond -- I genuinely didn't expect how crazy things would get with him
CURRRRRSEE YOUUUU BAAAAAAAAAAYLE. Greatest voice acting ever bro 😂😂😂
100%, I heard these lines more than I'd like to admit xD
no whale here
You're certainly right, Ahab and Igon would take care of any and all whales (and drakes, but that's besides the point)
This guy does not stop talking even if the Dragon hits him so hard that he flies across the arena. 🤣
He just does not care -- he's a man on a mission, nothing's stopping him
Bro this dialogue was so awesome to hear for the first time.
The best part is that it still sounds awesome even after hearing it a lot!
Base game: LET CHAOS TAKE THE WORLD
Dlc: CURSE YOU BAYLE
Can't forget the TOGETHAAAA either!
This questline is peak cinema
I loved it
The way he elevates the PC as a "True drake warrior" really sells this fight as the power fantasy it is.
Right? It's good to see someone who actually ends up respecting us, the player character x)
What do you get when you combine Captain Ahab from Moby Dick with a homeless man blitzed on bathsalts? You get Igon.
And I couldn't be happier about his existance
the music along with ”CURSE YOU BAYLE” are enough to make this my favourite fight in the game
I absolutely agree with you, Bayle has become one of my all time favourites in general
The most accurate part of this is us being dead before he even finishes his speech
i love how much faith igon puts in you because he saw first hand your strength. infact i just love how much respect to your power most npcs give in elden ring. in dark souls npcs always acted like you didn’t just murder a deity 10 minutes ago
THESE LEGS NO LONGER PROPEL ME
HARPOONS THRUST IN THE SKY, AIM DIRECTLY FOR HIS CROOKED BROW, AND LOOK HIM STRAIGHT IN THE EYE
DREAD BAYLE, HOLY GRAIL
Best npc for the best dragon fight in fromsoft.
I absolutely agree with you. I still love Midir but damn Bayle has overthrown him, at least in my eyes
I am more of a placidusax enjoyer...
Guess it is my narrative to **CURSE YOU BAAAAAAYLE!**
The voice actor had such a fun time doing this you can absolutely tell
He put every ounce of his soul into creating this beautiful voice work
0:55 How most of my fights with Bayle went.
I'm glad we had a similar experience!
Exactly!! Honestly one thing I love about Elden Ring is just how many great NPCs there are. You're 100% spot on
I was about to put him out of his misery until I decided I’d come back to him whenever I found whatever it was I needed to progress his quest.
A sick dragon fight, an absolute bro who bellows out his heart, and a hot dragon waifu. One of the best quests in the entire game.
I completely agree with you. Everything about this whole section of the Dlc was perfect
Who is the waifu? 😭 🤣
@@justinchalifoux4424 The Dragon Communion Priestess. She's part of the questline, technically, where she encourages you to hunt down Bayle.
Somehow Igon was the most inspiring NPC for me, such a good lad.
I can see why, he's awesome in every way
Characters of other medias seek revenge: vain, gratuitous violence, linear and simple minded
Characters of Elden Ring seek revenge: achieves the greatest human heights
Everything is possible if you feel just enough hatred. Which, thankfully, Igon had plenty of
This gives off late 2000s vibes that I've been sorely missing.
Jestream Sam and the early 2000s, name a better duo.
Same buddy, I miss those times x)
0:15 uwelcome
*"With every last drop of my being!"*
Dude was commited
The fact he is shit-scared even from mention of Bayele only makes Igon more of the goat he already is
The combination of Elden Ring and the Mastodon rage comic is a matrimony so niche I didn’t even conceive it a possibility, but I’m glad it exists
Anything is possible if you meme it hard enough!
WHITE
WHALE
HOLY
GRAIL
I had to relisten to that Mastodon song at least a few times these last few days
WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING!!!
He's committed, you gotta give him that
Seriously his voice lines (and his VA's delivery of them) make Igon stand out so much. I'm truly glad we got yet another legendary-tier FS character
His voice acting is so damn good
What's crazy (imo) is that this is also his VA's first role in gaming. I think he made a name for himself in yet another industry (Richard Lintern)
@@fermyonds if that's his first role in gaming, then he's got helluva talent, i sure hope to see him more often in games
i was literally listening to blood and thunder and this came up on my recommended
Hell yeah dude CZcams knows what's up at least sometimes :)
Best npc in the entire dlc, if not game, that voice actor deserves a raise lol
I 100% agree with you. He didn't have a ton of screentime but damn he left an impact for sure.
When I summoned and eventually killed Bayle with him, bro was so pissed he infinitely spammed dragon claw to the point of clipping out of bounds through a wall. 10/10 character.
That's dedication from his end! He was just BM'ing Bayle lol
So true, I'd always stop and take a moment to laugh about the absurdity of his lines -- in a good way. I love the delivery, I love the unbridled rage
Is "CUUUURSEE YOU, BAYLE!" the new "MYYYYYYY NAAAAAME!"?
I absolutely love that he says "BEHOLD A GREAT DRAKE WRRIOR, AND I, IGON" he's literally hyping you up
The blood flowing through me after seeing boyfriend stud bayle.
"The fault lies with you, Tarnished!"
Fault? What Fault? I dare say it’s all thanks to me
I love all these references :D
Just a friendly reminder... This was this VA's FIRST ACTING JOB!!!
Peak VA and Peak engery!
The man too angry to die
He's on a mission and there's nothing stopping him
He didn't die because of Bayle, the dude died because igon's dialogues is absolute fire!
Death by resignation. He got ashamed by how crazy Igon went
"noble tarnished what is doh doing"
The question we all ask
He's verbally buffing us.
I defeated Bayle first try thanks to his encouragements
That's the best way to say it. He is our true hype man
Dude was so angry he was bouncing between my ears
Sorry about that, it wasn't done on purpose or anything. Hard to stay still with everything going on and his audio has slight imbalances when you move :( I couldn't find any clean audio rip
Gotta make a parody out this ncs
I am very proud to say I first tried bayle, no BS, just a regular old build. This is one of my biggest accomplishments in life
I'm glad I'm not the only one who immediately thought of "White Whale, Holy Grail" after hearing Igon's mad, vengeful monologuing.
Yes! As soon as he mentioned Harpoons, I couldn't think of anything else
On that day Igon became a legened and gained his title as Igon the Hailstorm. Bane of Dread.
It's funny to me just how much Igon stole the show. Whenever people talk about Bayle as a boss, Igon inevitably comes up
I missed this guy on my first playthrough, so I’m replaying the entire dlc just to be able to fight Bayle alongside him. He’s just too badass man
You Will finish the DLC WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF YOUR BEING
Guy is so badass he introduces the player before him what a gentleman
Insane i just met Igon and got this recommended to me. Jaw dropped to the floor when i heard his dialogue
Same here -- Igon was just phenomenal in every way
I was waiting for these memes lol
Was only a matter of time!
Mogh when the DLC came out: *CURSE YOUU MIQUELLAAAAAAAAA!!!*
*I HEREBY VOW, YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY!*
*BEHOLD, A TRUE LORD OF BLOOD AND I, MOGH!*
*YOUR FEAR MADE FLESH!*
*SOILD OF CONSORT, YOU MAY HAVE FOUL EMPYREAN*
*BUT I WILL RIDDLE WITH HOLES YOUR ROTTON COMPASSION!*
*WITH A HAIL OF NIHIL!!!*
*WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING!!!*
Igon is probably my favorite npc in any game ever yet.
C U R S E Y O U B A Y L E E E E !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are on the same page. I feel the exact same way as you. Phenomenal story, even better VA performance
