I will
The last sharpness test you show the same sword of tony in two rounds why ?? Can u explain please
why was the same sword used for the sharpness test twice? Im a big fan of the show but this demands an explanation! Except that warp he outperformed his opponent and getting played like this is outrageous. I mean i know the whole thing is rigged but have some decency.
Two of the most beautiful swords ever on the show and Tony came thru fresh!
You must not watch a lot of Forged in Fire cause those swords were average compared to what they usually make
I think it’s because both guys accomplished the Damascus blade. A lot of guys start with a Damascus but scrap it due to imperfections from the forge welding. I knew he was going to lose after the warped blade and second quench.
Facts
I still find that Damascus pattern absolutely stunning. Despite it's imperfections it's a beautiful blade.
As a Burmese, I am proud of our traditional sword(Dha).
Both swords are beautiful. The swords we made in the past are more elaborate and decorated with
our traditional flowers, animal arrangements, and the 12-month season festival.
i am also a burmese
Me too bro
I am indian i am big fan of Burmese sword and i have a old one
always wanted to know do burmese have any cool axes or blunt weapons
@@jacobfreeman8198they do have some great weapons Burmese was the largest empire of south east asia in history.
the second sharpness test had some issues with blades, look at the handles
yeah it was the first tested blade with brown handle it should be black
The first tested cut through more and deeper than the second
Yeah I noticed that too
I was just going to complain about that. Didn’t really get to see the 2nd tests, every impact showed the orange wood handle
Yeah I saw that they played the footage backwards
"two handed weapon," proceeds to only use one hand for the whole test...
Its a one handed weapon. Extended handle for longer reach. Tats all.
@@alohasnackbar3544 in the historical context clip they call it a double handed weapon. I don’t know your weapon expertise so I can’t speak on that, but that’s most likely where the original commenter has the impression that it’s 2 handed
@Factotum in the historical context clip they call it a double handed weapon. I don’t know your weapon expertise so I can’t speak on that, but that’s most likely where the original commenter has the impression that it’s 2 handed
A dha/daab was NOT two handed. The long handle is for balance.
@@sammclain6040 As a burmese, I can assure you that it is one handed. Some ethnic groups even duel wield and perform awesome dances with it.
Except for the mix up footages during the Sharpness test, this was one of the few times were both weapons looks equally stunning. Those damscus patterns looks amazing!
God, I know. I love that flame-like pattern on Colin's blade, I really wish it had been able to hold up a little better.
Don't if this was just a video editing mistake...
Tony was my supervisor at one point in my career . I watched him in his start of grinding and forging . Very proud of his talent and passion
Beautiful blades. Fan from Burma. It is also called 'feather blade or wing blade' ငှက်ကြီးတောင်ဓား' in Burmese. Used as both single and double handed blade.
As a Burmese, I am so glad to see the dha on this show and especially glad to see these contestants make beautiful ones! Congratulations to Tony!
Absolutely agree.
Im Thai.
Hai Thai and Burmese, the dha represent both ur ethnics. Im Malaysian Chinese. My representation for sword would be long single edge sword curved sword similar to a katana or korean sword.
Yep same. I'm Thai and it's nice to see our shared heritage on this show.
Finally, found a fellow country man who enjoy this show same as me. 😇
@@minkonaing4366 😁
3:33 two of the most beautiful blades I've ever seen on this show or anywhere else! Gorgeous!
There’s something emotionally and addictively compelling when seeing a fine blade thrust into an animal carcass slicing it cleanly.
Forged In Fire
A competition about lethal/dangerous and historical weapons. Yet more civilized than 'Masterchef U.S'
One of the many reasons why I love this show. Even though I have zero knowledge about bladesmithing
master chef is reality drama this is reality informational buddy
Yet everyone is having a good time. Even the 'losers' in the competition, compared to MasterChef where a man committed suicide after he was eliminated, caused by the judges verbal abuse.
keep watching and that zero will go away and change to 1% lol
this competition is about skill, masterchef is about cheap drama
Blacksmith* not bladesmith but ok
the editor messed up on this one lol. the final test they mixed the footage up lol
100%
I was looking for this comment LOL
I also observed this😄👍
i noticed
The editor for that episode was pretty bad
Honestly those blades were so beautiful and well made I didn’t know who to root for
As Burmese ( Myanmar 🇲🇲), I can appreciate Collin Dha.
On the second sword sharpness test first sword was used
it was just an editing error
The first cut was made with original blade that was the base for making those 2 blades at. Second cut was made with the blade of the first competitor with brown handle.
Using a two handed weapon with one hand, so clever
I don't get it 😬 they always pick up if the handle is not correct 🤔 but this time they don't use the sword correct 🤷🏼♂️🤣🤣
yes it was also my concern, why oh why, it could cut that pig in half and rly show how strong those blades are
I know the swords turned in there hands if they used two hands it would have made a much better cut 🤦🏼♂️
Also the dha is not a slashing weapon known for chopping
Its a one handed weapon. Dha is used together with a shield.
1:55 His wife calls out to him "honey were is the trash can?" Uh oh!
As a Burmese, I am proud of this. Both swords are beautifully made. There is absolutely nothing I can say than well done.
Thanks for all the cool messages everyone
Can I get your autograph?
CS, you are turning into my biggest fan.. of course you can. Stay sweet!!
7:47 they showed the wrong weapon
I see that too yet no one else has noticed... The brown handle didn't even cut yet he won
Didn't think I will ever see Burmese Dha on this show. Nice!
7:47 there is a bit of confusion there in the footage watch closely you will see
The sharpness test was very intriguing. Take a better look and observation while Daug is testing it. It seems like he tested the same swrod in the video. Focus to the handle because I based my observation to the handles of the sword
I love the last name, Bravo.
As Thais I very happy to see Asian Weapon in this VDO
Myanmar call sword = Dha
Thai call "Daab" (ดาบ) very closely.
I've expected that tony would win the competition and finally he did it!!!!that was awesome and the technique he has used was nice!!
Just an observation but I'm sure that the shield makers from the past knew to make them with the grain of the wood horizontal as they would withstand an over hand strike much better and that blow would be much more likely to occur than a side strike. I really enjoy these vids though. Good stuff.
Easily two of the most beautiful Damascus sword patterns I've seen on this show 🔥
Watches this show only for Doug and to hear him say "it will keal"
It's kind of like watching Iron Chef only to hear that one announcer guy dramatically announce the secret ingredient.
Regardless of the test
this two blades are the most beautiful looking blade i ever saw in this show
Colin's sword test 7:56, they inverted the sword tests. During Colin's test, they showed Tony's sword. At 7:56 you can really see it.
Glad to see a lineman on the show! Way to represent Tony!
3:33 They won't just keel...They'll make you *feel*
I like how when he goes to cut through the Tommy Matt’s he’s on the second blade but the close ups are of the first bald being tested lol 😂
Doug Marcaida is the cool uncle we all want to have.
Hi andrew brother i need $50
From India i am a student i need only $50 bcoz i want to make a website of removing background i can hire a free lancer plz help
Finally a weapon from my country!!
Nice work 🎆✨🎇
The blade kept switching on the last test xD 7:45 (look at the handle)
The cut test you showed the first sword cutting for both competitors so couldn't see how the second sword actually performed. You can tell by the wooden handle
Definitely the prettiest weapons ever on the show
Did anyone else notice the second sharpness test had them use the wooden handle blade twice?
Warps aside, those swords were beautiful. Especially Colin's who had some sick pattern on the blade.
I can’t believe they did Burmese dah I finally see our traditional sword i love Forged and fire
there was some edit issue with thr second sharpness test. Wrong swords are edited with the wrong smith
Usually there would be only one beautiful swords .But these two blades nailed it 👍
both blades look gorgeous side-by-side! I do love the elegance the 2nd blade gives. Those slanted damascus pattern are top notch!
The first one's handle maybe bit bigger, but it's absolutely stunning as well, it reminds me of rattan for some reason. The handles alone gives you different feel - like how the first Dha looks like it was wielded by a native warrior, while the 2nd one feels like the Dha has been wielded by a crusader.
People who dont put a pin in the handle have never seen this show.
Y'all edited in the other guys sword instead of collins. 7:41
DHA mean Knife but it cool to see one of this weapons bring for challenge
Around 7:50 the handle doesn’t add up why did it just change like that 😂😂
3:33 These damascus steel are BEAUTIFUL!
Tony had drip at the sword test
That was the tightest competition yet.
When I feel low on keals I come to watch these.
As a Burmese, I am very proud of our traditional sword (Dha).
The Burmese had the largest empire in Southeast Asia, and the Burmese martial art was one of the best in combat and weaponry.❤
"It will keeeal"
"It will cat"
😄😄😄
Not sure that anyone using a shield would want the grain of wood to run vertically🧐
How did he see the warp while he was grinding and not directly after the quench?
Loving the design on the contestants purple shirt.
Myanmar dar !finally Burma turn has arrive👍
Really was looking forward to Collins weapon
When he says it will kill makes go 😍😍😍😍
J! The blade killer!
The word "Dha" means Blade, Sword, Knife, pretty much means something sharp that can slice lol
It’d be cool if they had to make a sheath as well for one of the challenges
Finally!!!! My meal will be legendary!!!
Wtf History Channel. Half the clips of the sharpness test for Colin are with his opponents blade (the slow Mo clips) 7:47
did somebody noticed that in the sharpness test on second blade in slow motion was the first blade while in the preparation for the attack on the tatami mat was the actual testing sword..... i guess his sword got the vote of no cofidense off screen because of the bend but because of that damascus pattern which to be honest was gouges they went for it
Of you look at the mats at the end there are clean cuts where the orange handle had bad cuts.
They just cheated.
7:55 The wrong weapon is shown during the sharpness test. @History What visual editor allowed this error to be broadcasted?
Tony be ready, after the test got disappointed 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Announcer: You are going to build a Burmese Dha.
Contestants: Oh Yea!
Translation: No idea what that is but sure.
I searched if my nation's weapon is on this channel and I am not disappointed.
What is the bad side to having to do more then 1 quench? Re heating to get wraps out... Would it make it more brittle?
As a business this sword also known as ' wing sof big bird'.i an very glad to see that in this show.
dope differential heat treat with that sand hack, cant wait to see the performance.
edit: noice. both seemed to have skimped on the sharpening though
Burmese Dah " ငှက်ကြီးတောင် " is most popular sword in Myanmar btw
Thank you so much
They would wrap their shields with linen and put raw hide on the rim to keep them from splintering like that. The shields would actually trap the weapon so they can spin it to disarm the wielder.
Not to mention, turneded them ~ 90 degrees.... A shield with the grain of the wood in the same direction of the most probable type of hit...
wonder where Tony got that sweater tho thats beauty
Why swords are reversed during slowdowns? You can see that the cuts are made in with different weapon.
i never expected that the burmese dha will be featured on forged in fire. from the start where it did not cut bone i knew that it will not cut threw the armor and satani mats. usaually all burmese dha cut threw bone and armor.
Anyone else realize they mix the footage up during the second sharpness test??
Ballston Spa is about 10 exits from me In Albany NY.
Please make a competition about Snake Sword
You know ,dah is just a Burmese word for sword.
It will kill .always like to hear that
The last sharpness test you show the same sword of tony in two rounds why ?? Can u explain please
The dhas I've exampine tended to be pretty soft at least over the back of the blade.
First i understand Jonny Bravo.. Hu Ha 😂
Every time i blink while im looking at doug he is starting to look like andy serkis
7:44 anyone else noticed they changed the swords
Why did they do the sharpness test after they bent the edge all up :...?
Two handed swords...tested one handed.
The best
these contestants are above average. their weapons are beautiful
What was going on in the sharpness test? They showed both swords being used for both guys
The first cut was made with original blade that was the base for making those 2 blades at. Second cut was made with the blade of the first competitor with brown handle. I'm editor to those are not same blade.First strike it's the blade of first competitor than second strike is the original blade look closer & u will see in image the full design of the original one.
It's interesting to see how they doctor the footage now by going super fast then super slow mo so we can't see Doug intentionally mis-align the blade of the sword swinging into the tatami mats (to rig the results against the black handled participant). I understand shows have writers but dishonesty is repugnant.
Maybe the misalignment was related to the warp that the blade had? Not to mention that that wasn't the reason they gave why he lost in the first place right?
I am proud to be a Burmese
Those weapons became "sword" rather considered as a Dha. They just made them too straight.
