- This is a tutorial on how to make a steampunk or industrial lamp. You can use this for an everyday lamp, but it would look great in a haunted house--perhaps a mad scientist or Frankenstein theme.

The smaller metal panel is just weldable sheet metal that has been rusted. Watch my mad scientist panel build video for tips on how to rust this quickly so it looks cool.

When done, protect it with a clear coat:

All pipe and fittings are black 1/2 pipe (Ace hardware and Home Depot carries this stuff)
For the gears, just search eBay using these key words: steampunk gears industrial iron sprocket lamp
For the cord, just search eBay for vintage lamp cord sold by the foot. There are tons of options (the wire I use is basic two-wire).

Great lamps and great video. Would you be able to send/post a parts list for all your electronic parts (switches, the dimmer switch and the LED lights) and where you got them? I'm new to these and would appreciate the help in this regard. Thank you.
Many of the parts are eBay finds, so they are not necessarily guaranteed to be found again, you may need to improvise. I'll work on a general list though and get it posted.
