- I just finished watching this show. I love Dan vs Dan and Dan vs Telemarkerter episodes so far so i gathered many of the clips and made it into a compilation where Dan and The Imposter interact with each other. Honestly, i ship them, but the intention to make this video just to gather the clips into one video not about shipping whatsoever.

What makes Fake Dan really fucked up is that he openly notices that Dan is unwell and needs help, and his only thought is "oh that makes him a GREAT target"

i think its particularly interesting that his design shows his insecurities. The imposter is slimmer, has a ''better'' voice, is better looking, isnt going bald, his skin doesnt looks as greasy and.... greenish? He is even a tad taller lmao
So... I was thinking how confusing this was. And I was like "oh. Maybe Id (Imposter Dan) should be how we refer to the character, since we don't know his real name."
Then I thought. "Wait. Which one of the parts of the psyche is called the ID? IS THIS A SPECIFIC REFERENCE!?" and then realized... no. If anything Dan is the ID, with Imposter Dan being the Ego.

@@weebjeez Imposter Dan would would be the Super Ego, what one thinks they should be their perfect version of themselves. Taller, Better Looking, Always Nice, Strong, Independent, Likable, and etc. However, the problem with Super Ego is often very self destructive and unobtainable. You can't be perfect all the time, and when cracks start to show. Thats when you get major breakdowns.
So, Imposter Dan is that... He seems like the Nice one on surface level. But, he's doing things just as bad as Dan would do. An ego would have a balance of both Dans.

The duty to retreat remains unless your state has a stand your ground law, then you can walk in some place and shot anyone you want so long as some people find it justified.

@@wildfire9280 Literally wrong. If someone forces entry into your house you can shoot, for stand your ground if someone attacks you then you have no duty to run away. Unless you plan on breaking into houses or attacking people you should be glad these laws are on the books.
I think the funny part is the twist that he only stole Dan's identity because he said he doesn't have anyone who'd know or care to do anything about it.

A great subtle detail: After Imposter Dan admits that he deliberately uses sympathy to maintain his control over Real Dan's identity and cites his love of cats as an example, the OCD/stress relief ball we see him playing with in the next scene compiled here is actually a ball of yarn.

I love how they did imposter’s design. He isn’t just a carbon copy of Dan. He has a different eye shape, and his outlines look heavier. Pretty minor things that go a long way in separating the two.

Honestly the whole telemarker thing could have ended more in Dan's favor had he 1st registered his number on the don't call list then when fake Dan continually called him sued the company he was working for in to oblivion. Which honestly would have been way funnier
Telemarketers can change their original number so they can repeatedly call the same person multiple times. There're cases where the same telemarketer can call someone 2-3 times a day.

And in this case this company is calling repeatedly and is completely provable that it's the same person every time. Then later it shown that they can actually vist this mans place of business so if you can do that then you can for sure serve up them papers
While it's true that Fake Dan is a terrible person to Dan specifically and in a general way for stealing someone's identity, it's also interesting that he is an objectively better person in many ways. He also seems like a sociopath. It's really a wonder he isn't doing something more constructive than taking over Dan's life.

@@gin9561 Dan goes to jail for 3 weeks (or months I forgot which one) and uses his one phone call to tell the imposter that he won't be bothered by his telemarketing and how he wins in the end, and Imposter Dan laughs it off acknowledging his "defeat" by Dan and the episode ends with the imposter Dan saying, "that guy really needs to let things go" while relaxing and fishing (in a sense of irony as he kept calling Dan to annoy him as his "revenge")
Someone said in the comments that there was supposed to be a 3rd episode involving imposter Dan before the show was cancelled (take that with a grain of salt and research on it if it's true)
and it could only be assumed that it was imposter Dan being defeated for good and his last appearance.

I love this guy! I have a bit of a soft spot for cartoon characters who are somewhat of a bastard, they know it and they enjoy it and he is one of those. Other characters that are like that are Bart Simpson, Louie Duck from Ducktales 2017 and Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel and Blitzo from Helluva Boss.

Identity Theft, anyone who steals a person's identity can lead up to serve 7 months in prison, 2 years if there's any crimes that the defendant has made in the past, in certain court cases they will need evidence that you're the actual person by having blood DNA matching yours and fingerprints, in most court cases the victim can bring witnesses who's who and about them if you know them real personally, sorry I just had to address how this Episode can end with a win for the real Dan and a major lose to Fake Dan
Liquid Dan (Fake Dan) is much more likable. Who says his friends would want to keep helping Solid Dan (Real Dan)? In fact, they might make them realise how toxic Solid Dan actually is, and claim Liquid Dan as the real Dan, with real Dan going to prison - and if crimes increase your sentence he's going away for a long time.

In most episodes, the "couple with homo tendencies" trope is used a lot. And, somehow, Dan does feel something for Chris but if those feelings are romantic or not are part of the joke.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this dude is Dan’s brother, the real question is how did he know so much about Dan from the beginning and why do they look so alike naturally.
Judging by the facial differences, I'd say his similarity in appearance to Dan is coincidental.
People even from far away countries can have basic facial similarities to one another with some differences.
I live in South Asia and let me tell you, me and my family compare our appearances to Middle Easterners(Turkish people mostly) and sometimes Europeans a lot.
Most cartoons that do this trope have the imposter character and the real one look exactly the same but with a different voice. Here, Fake Dans taller, has different eyes, nose, skin is slightly lighter etc. It’s more believable that’s he’s a weirdo that’s decided to take over Dans life instead of him looking like a clone or something
