FYI the damage that suspending burst does when you get a kill counts as grenade damage. I would recommend using bolstering detonation or momentum transfer over impact induction. I personally use momentum transfer and get rid of the tangles give melee energy fragment and replace it with the severing burst fragment. It makes surviving in high end content MUCH easier.

Hello my fellow guardian!! Thanks really a lot for this video!! I was absolutely in need of a great strand build for my beloved warlock (I’m a main warlock)! Swarmers are good, but after having watched your Heist Battlegrounds GM, i think that Necrotic Grip plus Thorn is the way!! I also have found inspiration for the stasis warlock build with the stasis exotic bow: I can’t wait to try it in the Birthplace of Evil GM (or in the Cosmodrome Battleground)! So, THANKS!

So I made a warlock strand build that has just as much ad clear potential as this one but with immense crowd control capabilities due to suspending.

It’s all centered around tangles with the exotic leg armor swarmers. Threadlings everywhere, shooting a tangle suspends all nearby targets and releases threadings which also unravel targets. I run this with the new wish keeper bow from this seasons exotic mission which also does bonus damage to suspended targets.

Genuinely one of my fave builds. I have to admit I haven't used it since the beginning of the season after I finished the thorn cat because it made everything too easy. More than that, I've been running solar karnstein warlock because it's so much fun. But I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about going back to necro-strand multiple times each week!

I prefer this build but with necrochasm, and you can get easy precision kills on suspended enemies, and the entire area gets wiped. If you do have necrochasm and dont need thorn for unstops, I would highly recommend running that instead

I love this build, and the threadling army one. The only thing missing from these builds is health regen, i tried implenting some finisher mods for that, since everything is getting chipped , you wouldnt run out of enemies that are finishable. But an void overshield, or a health bump from a finisher just isnt enough. So maybe if you have 2 bolestring detonation arm mods, youll get your rift back as quick as your grenade, but i still think something is missing, maybe necrochasms' rework will elevate this build .
I run the fragment that spawns an Orb of Power for killing a suspended foe plus Recuperation. If you can sneak in a shoot to loot weapon, you're able to keep your distance, or you can be aggressive and pick up the orbs yourself
Crazy how good this build is even after thread of generation has been nerfed like 2 or 3 times at this point and suspend being nerfed.

Getting the void Wilderflight GL with blinding (the one that shoots 2 shots) with auto loading/lead from, pair with a rocket on unstop/overload, and I dont see how you could die

I just started playing destiny 2. Would using la monarque on a gm nightfall where u gotta stay back be good for this build?
No the poison from Le Monarque doesn't synergize with this. However, it is still a very good bow to use on overload champions

I love Necrotic Broodweaver with Osteo, Thorn, and whatever. It does suck that Thorn DoT kills don't spread Corruption like Osteo tho

Great Build, but I do not think you need the catalyst for Thorn to overload round. I believe that is part of the base gun. I would love if you could dive into that.
No the catalyst overfills the magazine
I've loved Nexrotic Grips with devour ever since they came out. I cannot count the amount of times I thought I was dead and devour refreshed because the poison DOT damage killed and enemy I wasn't even looking at.
Shame the new box isnt a weapon of sorrow would be a great pair with the build.
Nice build. What would you recommend? Thorn without catalyst or osteo striga with catalyst? Personally i like the osteo but the range just sucks..
Osteo is a beast. It’s great. I just use thorn this season for unstop

On grenades I switch off between grapple and shackle depending on what I'm doing.

Resil. Disc. Recov. Strength. Int. Mob. That’s how I’m doing mine. Resilience is always first. in the video he said he had 100 discipline and 70 recovery. He also said his intellect was very low like 20 or 30 I always go 30 intellect because below that is a huge drop off. 40 or 50 don’t give much benefit so it’s wasted.
Does the necrotic grip poison stack with thorn poison on a single target?
No
since it's rather unlikely that you kill *every* enemy before they damage you: how do you make this build survivable?
Lots of these build vids focus on using the Heist Battleground Moon nightfall, getting boring since lots of content don't have hordes cluttered together
yeah if only Bungie would release a horde type mode with thousands of enemies so these add clear builds can shine
good vid but the upspeak makes my brain wanna cry
If there was a strand weapon that could fit in the energy slot then we'd really be cooking with fire, but there isn't unfortunately which is sad because there is a lot of good strand weapons.

Eh they just nerfed the poison, and brought into line with necro grips. It is still incredibly strong and they will probably nerf it again at some point
Osteo isnt dead. Just in line now. You are used to it being busted
Def not killed at all. It's still super fun to use. It's just not (as much of) a one weapon solo option any more. Overall hardly changed.
I mean it's still good but thorn this season is just much better at poison and even killing.

I loved Strand/Nectrotic/Ostea.. but I hate using Thorn. It's horrible.. pity
