Dear Sean,
I am currently going through a family crisis, well, actually it's been for three years now!
I've been living with a cousin of whom my family accepted in because she didn't have a place to stay. She had chosen to work outside of the country (of which she did), but unfortunately lost everything when she'd realized that she wanted to return home. She had nothing (no personal belongings) cause she had given up everything for her family & career abroad.
We had absolutely no problems living with her until time went by and she still hadn't managed to recover what she had lost.
I personally started dealing with stress because of the change I had to adapt to...and I didn't understand why because this wasn't the first time we were addressed with a situation like this in my family...: A few years back we've had similar issues (one of an ill uncle and another of an aunt) of relatives that had to live with us. It wasn't easy especially since during that time I and my sisters were still in school and had heavy/rigourous studies. We constantly had to attend to their needs instead of ours, despite us being students.
I've always wondered why it always had to be us (my immediate family) in particular since we were just a number of five when and only my mother was around; we were a small family that lived in an old though spacious house that not many had had - during that time everyone else but us seemed to be upgraded - and yet, we were targeted to take people in when they needed shelter.
Then, I could more or less handle the pressure, but now for some reason I cannot seem to deal with this burden. It haunts me every morning and night or especially since my personal feelings have to be set aside...I am stressed and MISERABLE!!
But to conclude, I am so emensely grateful and overwhelmed that I came across your video at the perfect moment of my FINAL BREAKDOWN! I'm a Christian and so is my family. So I know that it's not a coincidence that you've happened to say precisely everything my mother mentioned to me today... I was just feeling angry and depressed about it that I refused to move from my "comfort zone" and be willing to "serve others" again, even though it's my "destiny"...I was finally tired and giving up until I saw this...

You spoke truth, and the truth set me free...

You won't probably believe it but : I actually apply this story in my life. 😇

Like the beggar, I took my way to go on meeting The Master/Buddha of my life🕉 to get some answers of my life and destiny.
And I did meet Him. But like the beggar could not ask his question, me too I couldn't speak whatever I wanted to. What I got is His blessing, & came back to life as a new blessed person.
I don't have much say.. I only know I did my duty, my best to meet The Buddha.. the rest is surrendered to Him.🙏

What a beautiful story. Although destiny is always there as part of our karma.... it matters how we react to it, and what our attitude is towards it. Everything can be taken positively and negatively. We could accept the bad karma we are facing by knowing that it's not permanent, soon we will be well again. We could enjoy our good karma without ego, share it around, knowing that it's also not permanent.

A year later the mouse found the Homeless Man in the gutter again and worse off.
"What happened?"
"The turtle came out of its shell and became a dragon, the wizard threw away his ego and gained his soul..."

"I thought I did. I thought I had a soul mate. But no, she only opened her mouth when she set her eyes upon those precious pearls."
The mouse looked at him quizzically thinking that this Homeless Man might now be ready to listen.
"Those eight items, that you were cursed to only carry... they are sight, hearing, taste, touch, smell, balance, body-awareness, and conscience. EVERYONE has got them. It is what you do with them!"
