    Thanks for the tips! I will definitely try this! I like to cut my paint bottles and scrape them out it saves quite a lot

    i like to paint on wooden panels, cheap and i don't have to stretch anything, just prime.
    I have the feeling that making your own paints is more worthwhile than your own canvases.
    A kg of earth colour costs only around 6-7€ for the cheap ones and 1kg gum Arabic around 20€, 1L linseed oil around 10-30€ depending on the quality and Acrylic binder 10-30€ with or without extra water content, depending on whether it is ready for use or not.
    for me, the color production is also a bit meditative and i can watch videos at the same time.

      More than one paint company got started by an artist who experimented with making their own paints! 😀 (Just be careful with the pigments though because some of them are toxic, you don't want to be breathing them in).
