I had thought about using vinegar to flush rust out if my 95 Dodge Ram, but not sure what it might do to the aluminum parts. I bought some derust solution but have not used it yet.
4:22 That blue color is because of the oxidized copper leaching out of the radiator. Copper/brass radiators are soldered together with lead, which is colorless in solution unlike the copper, but just as biologically available now that it's been dissolved. Soluble lead is probably not something you want to get on your hands, unlike lead metal your body can absorb this quickly. Crazy that people do shit like this and have no idea what they're getting into. Not to mention pouring it on the ground.
May be wait and clean the block too when you get it running. But may be you have a line on another motor. A lot of different paths to take. Good video, nice find. Fyi vinegar works better hot.
Any joy with the Yanmar? My 1st thoughts when you 1st turned it over was the valve lifter was jamming on somehow but you mention later it wasn't. Nevertheless, if someone has been messing with it before you, did you check for tappet clearance on TDC on both cylinders. Rather odd for the compression to be sooo low. Patiently waiting now for an update 😉
I posted an update check it out here: czcams.com/video/Uk9vPygUKcE/video.html Yea, I checked the tappet clearance and it looked good.I'm about to tear apart the engine.
One video. The guy flush out the radiator with water a few times. Then unhooked the hoses . Block the opening to keep the solution from running out. Then poured a small box of baking soda in the radiator then straight vinegar until it was full Close the cap . Let it set over night. Drained the solution. Rinsed the radiator until nothing but clear water came out.
Did you use oil in the cylinders to see if the compression would come back? Could have had a fuel issue and use a bunch of quick start to wash down the cylinders.
well its got something wrong in the piston and or valves department so stop fannyin about with what it isnt and get the head of and look save your money to buy the parts it actually needs you say there isnt anything wrong with the de comp@@MattsShop
Great video. I have a Yanmar 2210D and rebuilt the top end of the motor. By the way...I'd run less than 50/50 in my radiator. I ran that mix in mine last year and blew the radiator.
Kelly, I may learn something from you... how does running 50/50 antifreeze cause a radiator blow-out? And why are you recommending a less-freeze-protection mixture?
@@jackonthefarm5540 According to what I researched (and please don't ask me to quote where I found it....I've slept since then).anything higher than the 50/50 would be too "thick" to pass thru the thin lines in the radiator. Matter of fact...I probably ran more than a 50/0 in mine when it blew. Those radiators aren't really that big in the first place.
Not sure about the 2000's , but my ym1500 does not have a water pump and it's supposed to use a 70/30 mix to ( create movement ? ) in the radiator thus pulling it through the motor. Some sort of physics' crap or something. Love my 1500... She is a tough old girl!
@@MattsShop yea the 2000B was produced early 80s. The regular 2000 was produced lat 70s into the very early 80s. The B was an upgraded model, more shielding for sound deadening, gauges, lights fuel gauge, different 3pt control. I love Yanmars. I have a YM2000 and a project YM187 which was an American market version not a grey model like the 4 digit models.
That’s for extended life type. Just change at recommended intervals and no need to. Frantz must have a six 0 That’s what they recommend to do after 100,000 thousand miles

Yea! It works. Better straight outta the bottle.

Yea, the block is going to get some fresh paint once I rebuild the engine.
you should remove the thermostat for water free flow to flush the cooling system
Good idea, will do when I rebuild it.
Привет скажи пожалуйста где стоить термостат водяной заранее спасибо

Great video. I have the same tractor and it doesn't run. Has been setting up for 6 years. Where can I find parts? No one in my area is any help.
That's crazy you have the same tractor! Check out www.hoyetractor.com They got every part you need.
EXCELENT THX GREAT INFO AND TEACHUNG
Did you use oil in the cylinders to see if the compression would come back? Could have had a fuel issue and use a bunch of quick start to wash down the cylinders.
Yea, I did the oil in the cylinders trick. It did absolutely nothing for the compression.

I’ve got an 89 169D no problems but love to learn more YM
Nice, Yours is a 4x4!
Again, great video!
Thx bro!
Thanks
Sure thing!
I have a running YT146D 2 cylinder if that motor is blown up, what do you want for it the way it is
N/E illinois.
I'm not interested in selling it. It's gonna get fixed and put to good use.
That blue could be the vinegar reacting with any copper oxide in the system. Does it have a copper core radiator?
Yes they do
Andrew Camarata is what you need.
I watch Andrew Camarata all the time!

The green is from the corroded copper.
It's crazy the radiator fins are all copper. This thing is old school!

Yup it’s a 4x4, 👍🏻
Nice!
Gooooooool,,,,,,,,,,,,, Amazon - 2 CZcamsrs - 0
lol nope! CZcamsrs win this time.
i forget what it is called , but dont forget to add the special additive to the diesel cooling system
Never heard of it?!? What's it called?

I would have let it sit for 24 hours.
