What would you add to the onboarding checklist?

I would separate the Virtual Office Tour from a Virtual Apps. Training (and detail the apps) and to sign the "No Shadow IT Policy" unless it was signed back with HR. Add the user to a group, that way the new user inherits all the rights/permits assigned to the group by the Admin., email signature (same visual as all staff and with the legal disclaimer at the bottom in case is not prefixed by IT), known your own position name within the company, know about the enter/lunch/breaks/leave times, how to deal with colleagues in other time zones (probably this is in the employee handbook), learn about the main OKRs, check all the settings from your tools (email, calendar, drive, etc), people just set the bare minimum and there are tons of productivity hacks within those untouched settings, receive the card or device to open the office and meeting rooms, provide to HR? car's brand/make/model/plate to get parking card and parking spot, provide mobile number, provide emergency contact information, inform if allergic to something (eg. peanuts), receive the device (e.g. laptop, mobile), and register them in the device enrolment and device management programs (or whatever steps needed if the company allows BYOD), update LinkedIn (optional), follow the company on social media/youtube (optional), uniforms or dress-code.
If you use Google Workspace, you can reduce a few steps from your Employee Onboarding doc. by using the Admin. Console (e.g. Email, email filters, bookmarks, chrome settings, security settings, group email, profile photo, shared drives, permissions and more) with just a few clicks.
In case it wasn't made before with HR, provide the bank info. where the payment must go, get defined if W-2, 1099, other. Sign the NDA, sign the Non-Compete, Sign the Working contract. Read all the policies. Know the neutral person where he can report annonimously any issue or mal praxis
