The video where Placido recognizes Dimash was super adorable. How embarrassed/excited Dimash looked too. Like a little kid meeting his idol. This performance is everything i could have hoped for. Dimash was singing the tenor part and Placido sang the baritone part. Placido says he can't sing the high notes anymore, but his voice was wonderful.

Do not forget that Dimash is an academically trained singer and that he was offered to continue his career at the Kazakh Opera, which he kindly refused. He is awer that he can give much more in the world of music. He chose to do contemporary and neoclassical music, but still, we all know that he can sing opera ( from soprano to Bass).

Did you ever see this expressions in Dimash's face singing Pop/Rock etc.? He looks so different, so mature, so serious and manly. This is so impressive, I'm stunned. And their voices complement each other so well. What a performance ❤
His face actually transforms when he sings in lower operatic registers. I noticed that before in Olympico (2021 version). It makes it apparent why his mother would comment that sometimes on stage she doesn't recognize him!
Dimash told Maestro Domingo that he was the reason Dimash became a singer. Dimash's extensive classical training was on full, glorious display. Seeing them sing together is a wish fulfilled. It was the wish of many people. Thank you.

I am really moved. And I LOVE Dimash's classical tenor voice! How easy it is for him to sing these light bright tenor parts, and Plácido of course sings more baritone parts for a while now, but I still and always loved his warm beautiful tone of his voice. Dimingo is in his 80's he was original member of the 3 tenors. His voice is still powerful but dimash tones back out of respect as not to oversing him he is just that respectful.

Apart from Pavarotti, Domingo, and Bocelli you might also know José Carreras. He was part of the famous three tenors. Just like the first two.
After Dimash finished school, he was offered a position at the Astana Opera. But he declined, even though that is what he grew up on. He wanted to sing in a crossover style. So he did. 😊
It was his dream, since he was a child, to sing with Plácido Domingo. And his dream became true.

No need for lasers, smoke, fire, flashing lights. When you want to listen to heavenly singing, all you need is the talent. Placido still singing great, doing baritone now at 80+ Just gorgeous! One of the most beautiful renditions of this aria I have ever heard.
However, may I say, when mentioning Domingo and Pavarotti, please do not forget Carreras. One of the greatest tenors of the 20th century, struck down by leukemia with a 10% chance of survival and he pulled through.
The first 3 Tenors concert from 1990, has produced the best selling classical music album in all genres, of all time. It was a concert put together to celebrate Carreras and his recovery from the disease. It was the first time that three well-known tenors sang together in a concert. It was a an operatic phenomenon, and it became a bit of a franchise when, after that first concert people all over the world were clamoring for more. The three tenors brought more people to classical music from that first concert than any other recording artist. It was due to them that later artists like Andrea Bocelli got to be popular, because younger people were now noticing operatic voices. So please don’t forget Jose Carreras.
Carreras retired a couple of years ago, and he basically has continued spearheading his leukemia research foundation and has made his home city of Barcelona, the top leukemia research city in the world and, has helped thousands and thousands of people to overcome this disease.
Please listen to the 3 Tenors album, from Caracalla, Rome 1990, and also I think for anybody reading this, please go and pick up Carreras’ singing or albums of songs from the 70s and early 80s before he got sick. That voice was an amazing velvet voice, and he was also a very young man when he started in opera - about 10 years younger than most opera singers, because he started out in his early 20s. And he too sang over 150 roles in his career. He remains good friends with Domingo. (Btw - you can find a radio clip of Carreras at 7 singing La Donna Mobile! He, like Dimash, had perfect pitch from that age, but because Spain was undergoing political and financial struggles, Carreras did not have a conservatory to go to. However, he did appear in an actual opera at 11, singing in treble voice, at Barcelona’s famed Liceum Opera House, the youngest singer ever to sing in an opera. So he’s no slouch!)
I think Dimash would be much better known in this world of opera, and doing some crossover pop, Igor Krutoy songs, and Kazakh songs with artistic ventures of his own creation.

When they first met for this programme, Domingo got really excited when he recognised Dimash. He said his grandson discovered Dimash on YT & Domingo said he was amazed at Dimash's voice. It was then that Domingo invited Dimash to sing a duet with him.
