Loved this video! Anytime you share inks and fountain pens it makes me happy! I've never used Leuchtturn paper, so found this helpful and interesting.
I'm glad I was able to share something new for you! Thank you for the comment!
Thanks for this video. Liked how you demonstrated the inks with lines and dots. Appreciated the Leuchtturm and Tomoe River paper comparisons. Lovely hand writing.
I was bullet journaling with fountain pens in a Leuchtturm for years but I feel the paper quality dropped. It had been just ok and now it just is below the ok-Mark. I use a scribble that matters now and absolutely love it.
I haven’t tried a scribbles that matter yet. I’ll look into that. 😊
there's no way I could ever do that in the Leuchtturm notebooks I've bought. The bleedthrough would stain the following page. I wonder how the paper quality is different around the world - if there are different factories sourcing different paper
Were they the A5? I hear they do better than the A4
@@belvucker2 Interesting! The worst one I've tried was an A4 but I've had A5 and A6 Leuchttturms as well and they had spotty bleed through with broader nibs
I've had the same problem. So much so that I stopped using them a long while ago.
@@belvucker2 I had the same trouble with both sizes.
The A6 is my preferred size for journaling and it really sucks that the last 2 recent ones i bought they bleed through with all my fountain pens. And it’s a shame really. I really wish there was or someone makes a Hardcover A6 tomoe River 68gsm. Or maybe attempt to make my own 👌🏻 lol ...Great video 👍🏻 thank you
Thank you. Hopefully some will
I would love to see more of your fountain pen and link collections! Two of my favorite Diamine inks are Oxford Blue,a dark navy ink when in a pen with f/m nib and has a slight sheen in a 1.5 stub nib.the other in is only available at cult pens called Maureen a sheening ink that is beautiful
Stay well 😊
Heather
Yes definitely will share more. I love the Maureen color. 😊I dont use it nearly enough.
Pretty colors
Thank you
Do you like this navy blue or port red better?
Depending on my mood, I like a smoother paper...but I really like Leuchtturm because it has a slight tooth to it. One of my pens has a slightly scratchy EF nib and I love the way it feels on this paper.
Yeah that feedback can feel almost like a massage at least to me sometimes.
Yes! Let’s do more colors!
What is the pen wipe disc? I want to get one!
Also came to ask this
I already have Oxblood. Ancient Copper and Sherwood are on the way. The colors just really appeal to the pseudo-vintage geek in me.
Good video. I enjoyed it.
This reminded me that I'm out of Ancient Copper and need to order more soon. It's kind of funny. I have about three hundred and fifty inks, not counting samples and a shoebox full of cartridges, but some of them just stick in my memory while other of nearly the same shade just don't. Ancient Copper is one that does.
I like Oxblood quite a bit, and it really does look like the ink they used to make out of real Oxblood, but as much as I like it, I rarely use it. It's good ink, and I do like the shade it is, but it's kind of an in-between ink for me. It's isn't brown and it isn't red. I prefer Waterman Absolute Brown as a brown ink, and Diamine Red Dragon as a dark red ink. So Oxblood usually gets left out.
I like the Leuchtturm 1917 quite a bit, but I've had a lot of trouble with ghosting, and some with bleeding. I haven't used one for a long time, though, and maybe they're better now. I'll have to order one as a Christmas present to myself.
Christmas Present to yourself!? 👍🏾 love that idea. I haven’t tried those other inks you suggested so I’m going to look into that. Thank you!
I've done the same thing with a hobonichi plain notebook:)
You said no bleed through but there is clear bleed through at 9:37 . Please at least mention it if it is something else.
Also, I think this paper works fine with nib like sailor 14k mf so it is ok paper for me. Everything else except the paper quality is perfect. The paper quality I'd give 6-7/10. I'd prefer Midori MD paper over this paper. Tomoe river is great but the price hold me off.
It was on the verge of bleeding through but it didn’t. Just serious ghosting. 😊👍🏾
