- the beach had lots of gold rings & silver coins after a wind swept storm created a monster cut. I found 4 gold rings, lots of old silver coins and lots more clad coins while metal detecting. Dave found a silver Peace Dollar, a silver Benjamin Franklin half dollar, a silver quarter, several silver dimes and if he has a silver nickel, buffalo nickel or v-nickel he would have achieved the Silver Mega Super Cycle something I have never come close to achieving. I treasure hunt with a Minelab Equinox 800 with the 15" coil. It is fun to find gold on the beach.

Very nicely done. Not been to the right beaches here in Florida (YET) No Nickles yet on the beach
are you studying your beaches, learning tide times, currents, swells, wave periods. Look and pay attention to the sand and how it moves from day to day. you will quickly learn when to hunt and where to hunt based on conditions. I hope that helps. Thank You 👍
@@funwithjim When I go to the beaches I look at tide charts first and when I get there I concentrate on low spots in the beach sand. I plan on going over in December again.

I dropped my 1903 silver quarter on the hard floor and half the black stuff fell off of it.👍👍😁👍

The difference could be that I found the quarter on a Lake Beach and not a Ocean Beach👍👍😁👍

Love the advice about where to stand if a big wave comes. I WILL remember that advice. I was at Will Rogers beach a few weeks ago with a six-foot cut. Unlike you, I waited for the tide to subside before jumping down in there. I am retired so got to metal detect from sun up until sundown, with an hour and a half nap in between. I got my first 18K gold ring. I also got a Benjamine Franklin. Thanks for your videos and for teaching me how to metal detect our southern California beaches. Happy Thanksgiving, King tide is coming! I think thats the best way for WOULD YOU DIG IT to play out is pick a target in the field and the FIRST one to guess is the big winner. Are you using 5 or 50 tones ? I'm trying to work into 50 tones...not easy. Sure hope you stay with the Nox. Im going to guess dime on WYDI.

Another great hunt Jim, that cut is spectacular. I found a cut similar at my local here in South australia and pulled a 1797 cart wheel penny and multiple early 1800s silver's this week. Happy days.

What indicator(s) you use to tell you when a "cut" is possibly in the making? High tide coupled with wind activities to be followed by a lowtide event???
lots of variables but yes, tide, current, swell size, wave period, direction, wind. So many things can create good hunting and if you really learn your beaches like I have you understand what beach to hunt depending on conditions.
