  • In this video I answer the question, "Who is the right patient for a baclofen pump?” I’ve narrowed it down to 4 questions. If you answer yes to all 4, then we should talk about a baclofen test dose! If you answer NO to any of them, then we should NOT consider a pump. To learn an intrathecal baclofen pump might be right for you, start watching right 1now!

    Thank you for this! I'm in process of getting a trial scheduled. I'm really hoping for some success although not looking forward to the surgery if it works out. I feel I'm out of options but if it makes a significant impact I'm going for it.

    First, thank you for all your informative videos. I have found them very useful in explaining/understanding this debilitating disease. I was diagnosed in 2019 and I had a Medtronic pump implant a year ago. My question is can the catheter be relocated after implantation solely for the purpose of improved functionality for me? My issues are left sided, arm/hand and leg, but the cath is only at T12 (unable to be placed higher during the procedure due to changes made prior to surgery in positioning me on the table & pump location by the managing dr - NOT the implantation dr).

    My daughter has Secondary progressive MS and is waiting to have a Baclofen pump fitted. Will she be able to still use her hoist after the fitting?

    It's very interesting how I got all these treatment after my car accident , the whole time I had anxiety thinking I had MS or another serioues condition. So it seems that other conditions may mimic MS. I was prescribed doses of blacofen too! But unfortunately I started waking up in the middle of the night spinning and it felt like someone was pulling on my skull. I was so terrified. I didn't know that I would get splasticity issues after my accident. I still suffer from spams in my legs and arms and upper back. Doctor, if it was MS and I had MRI done they would of told me already right ? After all all these symptoms did emerge after my accident .

      @AaronBosterMD  Před 5 lety

      Howdy Liz! In 2018 MS cannot hide from the MRI scan, as long as the slice thickness isn't too thick and there are no or only small gaps between slices.

    Doctor what do you think about Kratom for pain?

  • @lefteyeblindbookslebb3719

    Dr. Boster, I had my Baclofen pump placed 3 weeks ago. I'm all healed up now but realized today that the skin directly over my pump has no feeling. It felt the same in the hospital but because I only touched the area through my clothing before this weekend. Should I be concerned?

    • @AaronBosterMD
      @AaronBosterMD  Před 5 lety +1

      I would bring it up to your provider to discuss. That said I wouldn't consider it a significant cause for alarm.
