I also spoke with the EMA guy when I was in Provo and he said it was quiet. Little did I know one little reset would make it sound way better. Well done!
IMPORTANT UPDATE: I WAS CHECKING THIS JAILBAR OUT ON GOOGLE MAPS AND THE BUILDING IT'S ON HAS BEEN DEMOLISHED I DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE PUTTING IT BACK UP OR IF THEY ARE GETTING RID OF IT
10 years later neighbors might begin to complain about how much louder it is now since they were used to it being so quiet and I wonder how much did it cost to put the blower pipe through the roof instead of a regular pole mount
Are there any in the sandy area? I thought I found and old siren at a fire station on Google maps but I couldn't see up close and I can't find information anywhere.
There are a couple still up in the Sandy area, two SD-10s and a Model 5. Which station did you look at? Here is a link to my siren map for Utah: www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1qIM6Lqo3CS-Q2ThA87sObdFRTxse459r&usp=sharing
in Utah, if there's a town that's near a mountain, there will be a letter to represent the schools football team. Provo has a "Y" for BYU, Magna has a C for Cyprus High, etc.

10 years of malfunction fixed by basically one person in a span of no more than 6 hours. That's what I'm talking about.
Oh my gosh. A thunderbolt on Utah. Where in in Provo is that.???
At city hall on center street and 300 west
It seems like the siren according to the map says it was scrapped. That siren was great to us.
Woah!! With the blower! Right on!
1000s are awesome. That thing gets insane echos. I can't wait to see future videos of this beast now that it runs at full power.
This is definitely one of my most favorite siren related videos that I've ever watched!! Awesome job on getting that blower fixed!!
That windup with the blower is one of the coolest I have heard. Awesome job.

Old news by now, but it was scrapped. :/
Good example of how much the pitch will drop with the blower on. Simply amazing.
Amazing Video! Glad to see they got it back working again
Omg I’m glad it’s running with the blower now! It sounds awesome!
Oh wow!!! Thats awesome that yall got it fixed. Great video. Glad yall made it out there again
I wish they did not remove it

It's a fucking shame that this was scrapped...
Doesn't get much more epic than this
Holy shit, this thing sounds incredible. Fantastic video, glad I was able to help out with the repairs lol. (Also - my last name has two Ls)

It's an SD-10.
Does the red dot mean it's not operational?

Wishful thinking

@@thespiritstingray9359 Oh ok
Gotta have the blower.
Reminds me of a sick T-121 lol
When dose this test
Thay would usually test this on every Election day every year tho that's what the fire chief who was there last time told me.
Thanks
😎🍺
It's been scrapped
How loud are these?
Between 125 and 130 decibels, I believe. Possibly louder. Early Thunderbolt 1000s are some of the loudest sirens ever made.
Anywhere between 127-129 DB at 100 feet for series A1 units (this thunderbolt is a series A1)
Would I need ear protection?
@@Dubby522 yes, definitely. It helps to bring hearing protection to any siren test you go to.
@@Dubby522 What ray said. You can usually get away with not wearing it for most sirens, but you will *DEFINITELY* want it for this one.
is it an A1?
Yes
